궤도 및 교량 안전성을 고려한 열차 증속가능 속도대역 평가 (Evaluation on Allowable Vehicle Speed Based on Safety of Track and Railway Bridge)

  • In this study, the track-bridge interaction analysis was performed using an analytical model considering the track structure, thereby taking into account the linear conditions (R=650 m, cant variation $160{\pm}60mm$) and the dynamic characteristics of the bridge. As a result of the study, the allowable speed on the example bridge considered was calculated at 200 km/h based on vertical deflection, vertical acceleration, and irregularity in longitudinal level, but was also evaluated at 170km/h based on the coefficient of derailment, wheel load reduction, and lateral displacement of the rail head. It is considered desirable to set the speed 170km/h to the speed limit in order to secure the safety of both the bridge and the track. It is judged that there will be no problems with ensuring rail protection and train stability in the speed band.

  • The vibration induced by high speed train running on rail is dealt with as an environmental problem. The train induced vibration is characterized by moving loads at specific frequencies and soil conditions. In fact, it is predicted that the vibration sources are involved the wheel distance, number of cars, speed of operation, drift of rails, structural born vibration, etc. In this paper the characteristics of transferring vibration induced by the high-speed train in operation is discussed. Field measurements was conducted at region from Chungnam Yungj So-jung-myan to Chungbuk Chungwon hyun-do-myun. In the near future. these data will be used as the fundamental data for establishment of the countermeasure for vibrational reduction of high speed train using the results of the field measurements and quantitative prediction of the vibration level

트랙터용 토로이달식 무단변속기 개발(2): 제어 시스템 (Development of Toroidal Type Continuously Variable-Speed Transmission for Agricultural Tractor(2): Control System)

  • This paper describes the control system of the toroidal traction driver continuously variable-speed transmission(CVT) fur a tractor. The instrumentation system, the hydraulic power control system and the principle control scheme were introduced. Experimental tests in the bench and the tractor were conducted to validate the performance of the CVT utilizing the proposed controller. The speed of the vehicle was continuously changed to follow the speed set by driver under various operating conditions. Given the reduction ratio of the variator from 2.0 to 1.0, the settling time was about just 0.52 seconds which was satisfactory value for working with the tractor. It was also proved that the tractor could work with continuously variable speed under heavy load disturbances.

  • If a wind speed decreases during inertial control of a wind turbine generator (WTG), the rotor speed might decrease below the minimum operating limit, which is called over-deceleration (OD). When OD occurs, inertial control should be disabled and then the output power of a WTG significantly decreases. This significant power reduction causes a subsequent frequency drop. This paper proposes the stepwise inertial control to prevent OD when a wind speed decreases during inertial control. To do this, the proposed scheme changes the additional power output based on the rotor speed. The performance of the proposed scheme is investigated using an EMTP-RV simulator. The results show that the proposed inertial control scheme prevent OD even when the wind speed decreases during inertial control.

  • With taller buildings and larger typhoons, the impact of building winds is growing. During the 11th Typhoon Hinnamno in 2022, the building wind in Busan L City exceeded 60m/s, reaching the highest speed ever. Although many studies have been conducted on reducing the wind load of buildings, which is one of the problem factors caused by strong wind speed, there is a lack of research on wind speed reducing sculptures that can directly control strong wind speed. In this paper, several types of wind speed reduction sculptures were proposed to solve these problems, and the wind speed reduction capability of the proposed sculptures was analyzed through computational fluid dynamics (CFD). These results can contribute to suggesting effective design methods for improving the urban environment and reducing pedestrian stress.

  • Since the eco-era is getting closer, the importance of noise reducing in the passenger cars of high-speed train is very important. The active noise control is best choice to reduce low frequency noise because the passive one is too heavy for high speed trains where weight is so critical. Also ANC is able to reduce the ambient noise when the environmental-factor changes. To reduce a three-dimensional closed-space sound field like a car of a high-speed rail is hard to do using single channel ANC control system. We used multi-channel FXLMS algorithm which calculation speed is fast and the secondary path estimation is possible in order to take into account the physical delay in electro acoustic hardware control loudspeaker and power amplifier. Firstly, we have measured interior noise of KTX and estimated noise path in KTX test-bed. However there was some problem related to algorithm divergence and increasing the filter order. We have made a simulation of interior environment of KTX car by using three frequency bands of 120Hz, 280Hz, 360Hz as the most important for KTX ANC system. During this research the interior noise reduction of KTX car was made by using the multi-channel FXLMS algorithm. Reduction performance was evaluated and compared each other for open space section and tunnel section. in-situ experiment for the KTX noise reduction by proposed ANC was performed based on data obtained in simulation and they were compared for open space section and tunnel section as well.

A Speed Control for the Reduction of the Shift Shocks in Electric Vehicles with a Two-Speed AMT

  • In the present paper, a speed control algorithm with fast response characteristics is proposed to reduce the shift shock of medium/large-sized electric vehicles equipped with a two-speed AMT. Shift shocks, which are closely related with to the vehicles' ride comfort, occur due to the difference between the speed of the motor shaft and the load shaft when the gear is engaged. The proposed speed control method for shift shock reduction can quickly synchronize speeds occurring due to differences in the gear ratios during speed shifts in AMT systems by speed command feed-forward compensation and a state feedback controller. As a result, efficient shift results without any shift shock can be obtained. The proposed speed control method was applied to a 9 m- long medium- sized electric bus to demonstrate the validity through a simulated analysis and experiments.

Drag reduction of a rapid vehicle in supercavitating flow

  • Supercavitation is one of the most attractive technologies to achieve high speed for underwater vehicles. However, the multiphase flow with high-speed around the supercavitating vehicle (SCV) is difficult to simulate accurately. In this paper, we use modified the turbulent viscosity formula in the Standard K-Epsilon (SKE) turbulent model to simulate the supercavitating flow. The numerical results of flow over several typical cavitators are in agreement with the experimental data and theoretical prediction. In the last part, a flying SCV was studied by unsteady numerical simulation. The selected computation setup corresponds to an outdoor supercavitating experiment. Only very limited experimental data was recorded due to the difficulties under the circumstance of high-speed underwater condition. However, the numerical simulation recovers the whole scenario, the results are qualitatively reasonable by comparing to the experimental observations. The drag reduction capacity of supercavitation is evaluated by comparing with a moving vehicle launching at the same speed but without supercavitation. The results show that the supercavitation reduces the drag of the vehicle dramatically.

NREL 5MW 풍력터빈 제어용 저주파 통과 필터와 드라이브 트레인 댐퍼의 효과 고찰 (A Study on the Effect of Low Pass Filter and Drive Train Damper for the NREL 5MW Wind Turbine Control)

  • It is essential to examine and analyze the power output and load responses together using real-world turbulent wind speeds. In this paper, the power controller and the drive train damper are simultaneously considered using the NREL 5MW wind turbine model, and the damage equivalent load(DEL) of the low speed shaft torque and power output responses according to the natural frequency of the second order low pass filter are simultaneously investigated. Numerical testing is carried out above rated wind speed using commercially available Bladed software. From the viewpoints of DEL reduction of the drive train shaft torque and power output responses, it is shown that the natural frequency of the low pass filter is appropriately about 6 to 10rad/s. And the reduction ratio of the DEL of the low-speed shaft torque decreases as the wind speed becomes higher, and it is confirmed that the reduction ratio is limited to about 20% at high wind speeds.

Design wind speed prediction suitable for different parent sample distributions

  • Although existing algorithms can predict wind speed using historical observation data, for engineering feasibility, most use moment methods and probability density functions to estimate fitted parameters. However, extreme wind speed prediction accuracy for long-term return periods is not always dependent on how the optimized frequency distribution curves are obtained; long-term return periods emphasize general distribution effects rather than marginal distributions, which are closely related to potential extreme values. Moreover, there are different wind speed parent sample types; how to theoretically select the proper extreme value distribution is uncertain. The influence of different sampling time intervals has not been evaluated in the fitting process. To overcome these shortcomings, updated steps are introduced, involving parameter sensitivity analysis for different sampling time intervals. The extreme value prediction accuracy of unknown parent samples is also discussed. Probability analysis of mean wind is combined with estimation of the probability plot correlation coefficient and the maximum likelihood method; an iterative estimation algorithm is proposed. With the updated steps and comparison using a Monte Carlo simulation, a fitting policy suitable for different parent distributions is proposed; its feasibility is demonstrated in extreme wind speed evaluations at Longhua and Chuansha meteorological stations in Shanghai, China.
