This paper critically examines the role performance of local distributors within the Stimulus-Organism-Response (SOR) model, while also considering the moderating influence of market competition on the organism (O) and response (R) elements. Adopting a holistic approach, the SOR model provides a comprehensive framework for analyzing how external stimuli, including distributive, procedural, and interaction unfairness, interact with internal psychological processes, such as perceived unfairness, to shape the long-term orientation of importing agents. Moreover, this study acknowledges the pivotal role of market competition in the operational context of local distributors. It posits that competitive market dynamics play a crucial role in intensifying the relationship between behavioral factors and the long-term orientation of distributors, thereby revealing contingent effects within the SOR model. Through the exploration of these dynamics, this study contributes to a comprehensive understanding of the interplay among external stimuli, internal psychological processes, and market competition within the SOR framework, advancing our knowledge in this field.

As smartphones are rapidly and widely spread, their applications request gradually larger computation power. Recently, in the personal computer, computing power of hardware has exceeded performance requirement of software sometimes. Computing power of smartphone, however, will not grow at the same pace as demand of applications because of form factor to seek thinner devices and power limitation by relatively slow technical progress of battery. Computation offloading is getting huge attention as one of solution for the problem. It has not commonly used technology in spite of advantages for performance and power consumption since the existing offloading frameworks are difficult for application developer to utilize. This paper presents an application developer-friendly offloading framework, named SorMob. Based on Aspect Oriented Programming model, SorMob provides a convenient environment for application development, and its performance was verified by comparing with the existing offloading framework.
As online communities proliferate, online news sites have received great attention in news media research. Although most of the online news sites provide contents for free, some have adopted the Pay-What-You-Want (PWYW) model by offering a voluntary payment option to the readers. In this study, we investigate the factors which influence subscribers' voluntary payment behavior on an online news site. Drawing upon both the Stimulus-Organism-Response (SOR) framework and the Elaboration Likelihood Model (ELM), we hypothesize that appreciation has a direct effect on the subscribers' voluntary payment behavior, whereas central factors (positive emotional content, cognitive content) and peripheral factors (news sharing, news article length) of the news articles have indirect impacts on voluntary payment behavior through the enhanced appreciation. Based on an empirical analysis of 172 news articles from the Korean online news site that adopted the PWYW pricing model (i.e., Ohmynews.com), we find that appreciation plays a critical role in voluntary payment behavior and that peripheral factors have significant impacts on appreciation. However, the impacts of central factors on appreciation are not found. By identifying influencing factors of subscribers' voluntary payment behavior on online news sites for the first time, this paper suggests a prospective alternative profit model for online news providers faced with fierce competition.
This study attempted to analyze the effect of the color series of artworks installed as environmental stimuli in commercial spaces on the satisfaction of visitors and the moderating effect of the relationship. To this end, based on the SOR model of Stimulate-Organism-Response applied to burial environment research in the field of environmental psychology, and the preceding research using the SOR model, artwork color series(S)-mood and spaace amenity(O)-A research framework for satisfaction(R) was developed. In the experiment, an online questionnaire was conducted for domestic college students and graduate students by producing images with two conditions depending on the case where warm colors and cold colors were installed for the color series of artworks. As a result of verifying the difference in satisfaction of respondents corresponding to the two conditions through regression analysis, it was found that the warm color(vs. cold color) of the artwork color series induces higher visitor satisfaction. In addition, as a result of verifying the controlling factors of mood and space amenity variables in this relationship of influence, a significant moderating effect was found when the positive mood of warm colors(vs. cold colors) in the artwork color series was felt higher than the average. And, of the four types of space amenity, it was found that a significant moderating effect appeared when only comfort and aesthetics were measured as moderating variables. The result of this study proves that the warm color series of artworks that stimulate the physical environment of commercial spaces has a more positive effect on the satisfaction of visitors than the cold color series, and this is reinforced by positive mood, comfort, and aesthetics. It adds understanding and provides useful implications for marketing strategies for building an effective spatial image.

The purpose of this study was to measure the significance and contribution of sensory appeal, lifestyle, and health motive in determining coffee drink consumption. The theory adopted is the SOR (stimulus-organism-response) theory and the AISAS (attention-interest-search-action-share) model approach. Data was collected online in April-May 2020, and obtained 413 valid respondent data. The data were processed using SEM (Structural Equation Modeling) framework. The results showed that the variable sensory appeal of coffee drinks, lifestyle variables and health motive variables had a significant effect on coffee consumption. Of the 13 hypotheses proposed, nine hypotheses are accepted and four hypotheses are rejected. Sensory appeal has a positive effect on attitude and action of coffee consumption. Lifestyle has a positive effect on attitude, search, and action, whereas health motive has a positive effect on attitude of coffee consumption. Lifestyle variables have the greatest role in determining coffee consumption, followed by health motive variables and sensory appeal of coffee drinks. The SOR theory and the AISAS approach can both be used to analyze coffee drinking behavior. The research suggests that, to increase coffee consumption, a marketing approach should touch the lifestyle of the community and increase the promotion of the health aspects of coffee drinks.
Purpose: This pilot study aims to conceptualize a new green marketing mix for retail consumers based on Stimulus-Organism-Response (SOR) model. Moreover, it also aims to conceptualize a testable research model of new green marketing mix with consumers' green purchasing behavior, and to validate the measurement model with traditional as well as modern suggested validating techniques. Research design, data and methodology: A pilot test data from 75 respondents of retail buyers of energy-efficient electric appliances in Pakistan were tested for the confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) by examining a measurement model of the construct through different validation techniques (like Composite Reliability, McDonald's Omega (ω), rho (ρA), HTMT, etc.) as heretofore these scales were not validated through these modern methods. Results: The results revealed that the instrument has a certain degree of reliability and validity through different validating techniques. All the measurement items reach the suggested threshold values. Conclusions: Therefore, this study conceptualized an integrated framework of all the three stakeholders of the environment (government, companies, and public or consumers) to achieve environmental sustainability. Hence, future studies can extend these findings and conduct a full-scale study to establish an empirical relationship between the 5G's of green marketing for retailing businesses and consumers' green purchase behavior.
Purpose: This study used the SOR model to analyze the impact of live commerce's modified livecommercescape factors (interactivity, presence, playfulness, convenience, and broadcaster characteristics) on repurchase intention through usefulness and flow. Research design, data, and methodology: 1,149 respondents with live commerce purchase experience were collected through an online survey, and the collected data was analyzed with SPSS 25.0 and SmartPLS 4.0 statistical package programs. Results: Presence and playfulness were found to have the highest influence on flow and usefulness. In particular, Presence and broadcaster characteristics were found to be the factors that had the greatest influence on flow. Playfulness was found to have the greatest impact on usefulness, and two-way communication was found to have the lowest influence among the five servicescape factors. Broadcaster characteristics also affect flow but not usefulness, and convenience only affects usefulness and does not affect flow. Flow shows results that affect usefulness and repurchase intention. Conclusion: Our findings provide a richer understanding of causal relationships within the SOR framework, demonstrating that broadcaster characteristics, two-way communication, presence, and playfulness can influence flow, perceived usefulness, and, consequently, consumer purchasing behavior.
Purpose: Brand communication plays an important role in the credibility of consumer behavior as it enhances brand equity. This study investigates the effects of brand communication (firm-created communication, consumer-generated communication) on brand awareness, brand attitude, brand loyalty in the hotel business sector by applying the SOR theory (stimulus-organism-response theory). Research design, data, and methodology: This study was analyzed in a quantitative way using the survey results of 400 customers who had experience of visiting hotels. In this study, SmartPLS 4.0 was used to evaluate the research model. The reliability, convergent validity, and discriminant validity of the measurement tool were verified. Result: Result was found that consumer-generated communications had a positive effect on brand awareness and brand attitude, whereas firm-created communications had a significant effect on brand awareness. In addition, brand awareness had a positive effect on both brand attitude and brand loyalty. Finally, brand attitude was found to have a positive effect on brand loyalty. Conclusions: This study redefines the concept of where chain hotel groups should focus when providing consumers with information about their brands and services. As a result, the conceptual framework of brand communication to increase new customer visits to the hotel brand has been expanded.
Purpose: Natural products are becoming gradually popular because of their health - related benefits and consumers' environmental awareness. However, research in this field remains limited, the present study attempts to address this research gap by measuring the influencing levels of the antecedents on natural product brand love. Research design, data and methodology: The study employs S-O-R (Stimulus - Organism - Response) framework together with Innovation Resistance Theory and Dual-Factor Theory to propose the research model, in which health and environmental stimuli influence both of facilitators and inhibitors of internal states or organism, and then shape purchase intention and brand love as consumers' responses. The mixed research method is designed with the application of structural equation model (SEM) to analyze 530 consumers collected by convenience sampling. Results: The results revealed that two chosen stimuli, including health awareness and environmental concern were positively related to both facilitators (natural content and regional products) and inhibitors (image barrier and usage barrier) and these four factors were significantly associated to purchase intention and brand love. Furthermore, purchase intention played the mediating role on the relationship between the four organisms and brand love. Conclusions: The originality of this paper is extend S-O-R theory into natural product context with mediating effects in an emerging economy. The findings make theoretical contribution on consumer behavior and managerial implication.
Purpose: Service quality is a topic of constant interest in marketing research and practitioners. Service quality is an important factor influencing performance even in the context of coffee shops, and research on service quality management strategies continues by coffee shop researchers and practitioners. The service quality of coffee shops is a source of competitive advantage and is an important factor in enhancing customer and business performance. This study aims to identify the effects of cognitive evaluation on emotional and behavioral responses using a cognitive-emotional-behavioral framework and SOR model in the coffee shop context. Cognitive evaluation (service quality) consists of tangibles, responsiveness, assurance, reliability, and empathy dimensions. Research design, data, and methodology: In the proposed model, positive and negative emotions and satisfaction mediate the relationship between service quality and money to spend and visit frequency. The data were collected from customers who visited a coffee shop within the last 1 month. The survey was conducted for about one month. Among a total of 300 distributed questionnaires 261 responses were used for data analysis. The data were analyzed using frequency analysis, measurement model analysis, and structural equation modeling analysis with SPSS 28.0 and SmartPLS 4.0. Results: Tangibles, responsiveness, assurance, and empathy had significant positive effects on positive emotion, while only reliability had a significant negative effect on negative emotion. Both positive and negative emotions had significant positive effects on customer satisfaction, but not on money to spend and visit frequency. Lastly, customer satisfaction had significant positive effects on money to spend and visit frequency. Conclusions: The study revealed the relative weight of cognitive factors on customer emotions and confirmed the validity of SOR model. The fact that tangibility is the most important factor in increasing positive emotions and reliability is the most important factor in reducing negative emotions provides a direction for emotional branding strategies using the service quality mix of coffee shops. This study confirmed the full mediating role of satisfaction between positive and negative emotions and consumer behaviors (money to spend and visit frequency). This infers that when a coffee shop increases customer satisfaction through customer emotion management, the customer's money to spend and visit frequency in the coffee shop increases.
