  • To investigate the effect of low magnetic field on dose distribution in SABR plans for liver cancer, we calculated and evaluated the dose distribution to each organ with and without magnetic fields. Ten patients received a 50 Gy dose in five fractions using the $ViewRay^{(R)}$ treatment planning system. For planning target volume (PTV), the results were analyzed in the point minimum ($D_{min}$), maximum ($D_{max}$), mean dose ($D_{mean}$) and volume receiving at least 90% ($V_{90%}$), 95% ($V_{95%}$), and 100% ($V_{100%}$) of the prescription dose, respectively. For organs at risk (OARs), the duodenum and stomach were analyzed with $D_{0.5cc}$ and $D_{2cc}$, and the remained liver except for PTV was analyzed with $D_{mean}$, $D_{max}$, and $D_{min}$. Both inner and outer shells were analyzed with the point $D_{min}$, $D_{max}$, and $D_{mean}$, respectively. For PTV, the maximum change in volume due to the presence or absence of the low magnetic field showed a percentage difference of up to $0.67{\pm}0.60%$. In OAR analysis, there is no significant difference for the magnetic field. In both shell structure analyses, although there are no major changes in dose distribution, the largest value of deviation for $D_{max}$ in the outer shell is $2.12{\pm}2.67Gy$. The effect of low magnetic field on dose distribution by a Co-60 beam was not significantly observed within the body, but the dose deposition was only appreciable outside the body.

  • Purpose - Because creativity, which is an intangible resource embedded within the company, can offer a competitive advantage, most companies have an interest in promoting creativity among their employees and division(e.g., marketing organization). Creativity renders a sustainable competitive advantage to a firm because it is a strategic resource that is valuable, flexible, rare, and imperfectly imitable or substitutable. Although most companies broadly recognize the importance of creativity, the methods for developing creativity remain elusive. Therefore, the present study investigates how to structure incentives to motivate employees to be more creative and how to develop tools to facilitate creativity. In detail, the present study aimed to examine the relationship between the regulatory focus of marketing organizations(e.g., promotion focus vs prevention focus) and creativity of marketing organizations. In addition, the present study set out to examine the moderating role of interaction of financial reward and creative training in addition to investigating the direct relationship between creativity and regulatory focus in New Product Development(NPD) context. Research design, data, and methodology - The data used to test the hypotheses are drawn from a survey of full time NPD project members(including project manager, designer, engineer, and marketer). The present study utilized data obtained mainly from a database compiled by the Korea Investors Service-Financial Analysis System which provides comprehensive corporate and financial information on firms listed on the Korea Stock Exchange. A study population comprising 1,000 South Korean firms was obtained from this database. We selected 864 firms from the database, and the firms have experiences of new product development project. We collected a total of 162 responses, for a 18.8% response rate. After we excluded 14 questionnaire because of incomplete responses, a total of 148 questionnaire remained(final response rate: 17.1%). Working with a sample of 148 responses in South Korea, hierarchical moderated regression is employed to test research hypotheses(

The relationship between promotion focus and creativity of marketing organization,

The relationship between prevention focus and creativity of marketing organization,

The moderating effect of joint influences(interaction between financial rewards and creativity training) on the relationship between promotion focus creativity of marketing organization,

The moderating effect of joint influences(interaction between financial rewards and creativity training) on the relationship between prevention focus creativity of marketing organization). SPSS 18.0 and AMOS software were used in the data analysis. Results - The empirical study confirmed that promotion focus of marketing organization is positively related to creativity of marketing organization. Also, prevention focus of marketing organization is positively affected to creativity of marketing organization. In addition, the interaction between financial rewards and creativity training moderated the relationship between regularity focus(e.g.), promotion focus vs prevention focus) and creativity of marketing organization. These results suggest that managers can improve the performances of their creative efforts by providing the use of financial rewards and creativity training in combination. Conclusion - Based on results of this study that examine the effects of regulatory focused creative efforts on creativity of marketing organization, promotion focus is helpful with marketing organizations to enhance their service innovation and performance. Prevention focused organization should allow monetary rewards and creativity training to increase their creativity for innovation of new products.

  • We investigated the differences in characteristics of rodent populations among unburned and two burned forest areas which were fire damaged in 2000 and 1980, Samcheok and Yangyang, Gangwon province, Korea. Apodemus peninsulae, Myodes regulus and Tamias sibiricus were captured in three study areas. Total density of rodents was the least at burned area which was damaged in 2000. Trappabilities of Apodemus peninsulae and Myodes regulus were higher in burned areas than in unburned area. However, trappability of Tamias sibiricus was the highest in unburned area. Changes in forest type and habitat structure due to time elapsed after forest fire might affect density and species composition of rodents. Mean body weight of rodents were the highest in burned area which was damaged in 2000 while the lowest in unburned area. Differences in body weight of rodents would be related with the coverage of understory. Detailed long-term ecological monitoring is needed to elucidate changes in characteristics of rodent populations after forest fire.

  • Effects of Sc addition on microstructure, electrical conductivity, thermal conductivity and mechanical properties of the as-cast and as-extruded Al-2Zn-1Cu-0.3Mg-xSc (x = 0, 0.25, 0.5 wt%) alloys are investigated. The average grain size of the as-cast Al-2Zn-1Cu-0.3Mg alloy is 2,334 ㎛; however, this value drops to 914 and 529 ㎛ with addition of Sc element at 0.25 wt% and 0.5 wt%, respectively. This grain refinement is due to primary Al3Sc phase forming during solidification. The as-extruded Al-2Zn-1Cu-0.3Mg alloy has a recrystallization structure consisting of almost equiaxed grains. However, the as-extruded Sc-containing alloys consist of grains that are extremely elongated in the extrusion direction. In addition, it is found that the proportion of low-angle grain boundaries below 15 degree is dominant. This is because the addition of Sc results in the formation of coherent and nano-scale Al3Sc phases during hot extrusion, inhibiting the process of recrystallization and improving the strength by pinning of dislocations and the formation of subgrain boundaries. The maximum values of the yield and tensile strength are 126 MPa and 215 MPa for the as-extruded Al-2Zn-1Cu-0.3Mg-0.25Sc alloy, respectively. The increase in strength is probably due to the existence of nano-scale Al3Sc precipitates and dense Al2Cu phases. Thermal conductivity of the as-cast Al-2Zn-1Cu-0.3Mg-xSc alloy is reduced to 204, 187 and 183 W/MK by additions of elemental Sc of 0, 0.25 and 0.5 wt%, respectively. On the other hand, the thermal conductivity of the as-extruded Al-2Zn-1Cu-0.3Mg-xSc alloy is about 200 W/Mk regardless of the content of Sc. This is because of the formation of coherent Al3Sc phase, which decreases Sc content and causes extremely high electrical resistivity.

  • Calc-silicate rock sheet occurs within the Precambrian metasedimentary rocks in Bonghwa area, Kyungsangbuk-do, Korea. The calc-silicate rock runs parallel to bedding plane with $14{\sim}18$ meters in width. Calcite, dolomite, serpentine and tremolite are occurred as major minerals and talc is occurred as a miner mineral. Serpentine mainly occurs in the upper part and tremolite occurs in lower part of calc-silicate rock sheet. Colors of calc-silicate rock change to deeper green with increasing amounts of serpentine mineral. XRD, FT-IR analyses indicates that serpentine mineral is antigorite. Platy structure of antigorite is well observed by SEM analysis. EPMA data indicates that chemical composition of antigorite is very close to ideal ($SiO_2$: 44.3 wt% and MgO: 40.8 wt%). The chemical formula of antigorite is calculated as $Mg_{2.82}Al_{0.04}Fe^{3+}_{0.04}Si_{2.05}O_5(OH)_4$. From careful study by comparing mineralogical analysis data and occurrence, calc-silicate rock sheet was formed by metamorphism of calcareous sedimentary rocks having different mineralogical and chemical compositions. It is considered that the host rock of serpentine enriched upper part was more Mg-rich rocks than the host rocks of tremolite enriched lower part.

  • Aluminum silicates ($Al_2SiO_5$) undergo phase transitions among kyanite, andalusite, and sillimanite depending on temperature and pressure conditions. The minerals are often used as an important indicator of the degree of metamorphism for certain metamorphic rocks. In this study, we have applied classical molecular dynamics (MD) simulations and density functional theory (DFT) to the aluminum silicates. We examined the crystal structures as a function of applied pressure and the corresponding stabilities based on calculated enthalpies at each pressure. In terms of the lattice parameters, both methods showed that the volume decreases as the pressure increases as observed in the experiment. In particular, DFT results differed from experimental results by much less than 1%. As to the relative stability, however, both methods showed different levels of accuracy. In the MD simulations, a transition pressure at which the relative stability between two minerals reverse could not be determined because the enthalpies were insensitive to the applied pressure. On the other hand, in DFT calculations, the relative stability relation among the three minerals was consistent with experiment, although the transition pressure was strongly dependent on the choice of the electronic exchange-correlation functional.

  • Perovskite $Pb(Ni_{1/3}Nb_{2/3})O_3-Pb(Zr,Ti)O_3[PNN-PZT]$ ceramics were synthesized by conventional ceramic processing technique. In order to modify piezoelectric properties for sensor application in this system, NiO addition was considered to provide $Ni^{+2}$ as an acceptor, which was known to occupy with B site in the structure. The effect of NiO addition up to $8\;mol\%$ on the following piezoelectric properties as well as sintering properties was investigated. When NiO added more than $1\;mol\%$, average grain size was decreased and second phase was found to form. Moreover, the second phase caused decrease in relative dielectric constant $(\varepsilon_{33}T/\varepsilon0)$, electro-mechanical coupling factor $(k_p)$, and piezoelectric charge constant $(d_{33})$, while increasing mechanical quality factor $(Q_m)$. When $1\;mol\%$ NiO was added, density, dielectric properties and piezoelectric properties were abruptly increased.

  • Recently, the filtering approach using vector approximation such as VA-file[1] or LPC-file[2] have been proposed to support similarity search in high dimensional data space. This approach filters out many irrelevant vectors by calculating the approximate distance from a query vector using the compact approximations of vectors in database. Accordingly, the total elapsed time for similarity search is reduced because the disk I/O time is eliminated by reading the compact approximations instead of original vectors. However, the search time of the VA-file or LPC-file is not much lessened compared to the brute-force search because it requires a lot of computations for calculating the approximate distance. This paper proposes a new bitmap index structure in order to minimize the calculating time. To improve the calculating speed, a specific value of an object is saved in a bit pattern that shows a spatial position of the feature vector on a data space, and the calculation for a distance between objects is performed by the XOR bit calculation that is much faster than the real vector calculation. According to the experiment, the method that this paper suggests has shortened the total searching time to the extent of about one fourth of the sequential searching time, and to the utmost two times of the existing methods by shortening the great deal of calculating time, although this method has a longer data reading time compared to the existing vector approximation based approach. Consequently, it can be confirmed that we can improve even more the searching performance by shortening the calculating time for filtering of the existing vector approximation methods when the database speed is fast enough.

  • Perovskite-type ceramic powder, $La_{0.7}Sr_{0.3}Co_{0.3}Fe_{0.7}O_{3-{\delta}}$, have been synthesized successfully by the citrate method. As a result of TGA for precursor, metal-citrate complex in precursor was decomposed in the temperature range of $150{\sim}650^{\circ}C$. XRD analysis showed the single perovskite structure was observed over $1,000^{\circ}C$ without impurities. Typical dense membrane with 1.6 mm thickness has been prepared using as-prepared powder by pressing unilaterally and sintering at $1,300^{\circ}C$. The electrical conductivity of $La_{0.7}Sr_{0.3}Co_{0.3}Fe_{0.7}O_{3-{\delta}}$ membrane increased with increasing temperature at atmosphere of air and then decreased over $600^{\circ}C$ due to oxygen loss from the crystal lattice. The oxygen flux of $La_{0.7}Sr_{0.3}Co_{0.3}Fe_{0.7}O_{3-{\delta}}$ membrane in the range of 700 to $950^{\circ}C$ increased with the increasing temperature from 0.045 to $0.415ml/cm^2{\cdot}min$. The activation energy for oxygen permeation was calculated to be 89.17 kJ/mol.

  • Since 3D printed concrete can be constructed without formwork, it is easy to construct an atypical structure, and the construction time and labor cost can be reduced. However, since the construction is exposed to the outside, shrinkage cracking due to moisture loss inside and outside the concrete occurs. Therefore, in order to improve the durability of the 3D printed concrete, a shrinkage reduction plan of the 3D printed concrete is required. In this study, glycol-based and alcohol-based shrinkage reducing agents were fabricated and evaluated for their performance. The shrinkage reducing agent samples showing excellent performance were selected and applied to 3D printed concrete. As a result, the compressive strength was increased by more than 10% and the shrinkage was reduced by more than 36% when using a shrinkage reducing agent. It is expected that the production of high quality 3D printed concrete will be possible because it is possible to increase the compressive strength and reduce the amount of dry shrinkage by applying a shrinkage reducing agent for 3D printed concrete.
