An Implementation of Open Set Constraint Logic Language (공개 집합 제한 논리 언어의 구현 방법)

  • Set constraints logic language is a language that adopts `set theory` in programming. In this paper, we introduce the procedure for solving set constraints proposed by A. Dovier and show how the procedure can be implemented in logic language Prolog. The procedure is represented in `rewriting rules` and this representation is characterized by having nondeterministic rule applicationsand mathematical variables that is difficult to be implemented in general programming languages. In this paper, we show that the representation can be easily implemented by using nondeterministic control, logical variables and data structure `list` provided in Prolog. Our implementation has following advantages.First we have implemented the full features of the language. Second we have described the implementation detail in thisresearch. Third other used the commercial Prolog called SICStus, but we are using CIAO Prolog with GNU GPL(General Public License) and anyone can use it freely. Forth the software of our implementation is open source so anyone can use, modify, and distribute it freely.

  • After reformation of 'the law of private investment on social infrastructure' on January 2005, BTL of educational facilities can improve the education circumstance at early stage, however there are trial and error, problems of execution as well. The key of this problem is not only related to whether BTL project is more reasonable, but it also leads to the proper performance of eligibility analysis on BTL. Therefore, it lead to the proper carryout of eligibility analysis on BTL. In order to promote effective BTL project of educational facilities, this study analyzes problems of existing model and creates the evaluation model for solving this problem. In this study, the evaluation model of investment on BTL has more quick ,accuracy and useful effect than previous one, if it is applied on eligibility stage. Moreover, this method could be applied to public building, SOC facilities effectively based on being modified as each characteristics of structure suitably.

Construction Policymaking Based on the Simulation Model Approach;Focusing on the Productivity Policies of the Singaporean Government (시뮬레이션 모델을 이용한 건설정책 수립 방안;싱가포르 생산성 정책 사례를 중심으로)

  • Generally, policymakers have a tendency to target achieving individual policy goals rarely considering their effects as a whole. In addition, the conventional policymaking practice lacks considerations on the various needs of industry participants and their response to public policies. To address this issue, a system dynamics model as a simulation model-based approach, which can examine the effectiveness of public policies in a systematic manner, is presented with an application example of the Singaporean government's policies to enhance construction productivity. Using this simulation model, the governmental policies are tested in a qualitative manner. Having obtained policy implications from the model structure and simulation results, suggestions and guidelines are provided to make the governmental policies more effective. Finally, based on the research findings it is concluded that the simulation model-based approach could be useful for construction policymaking.

  • In this study, new platinum complexes were synthesized utilizing the ligand of a 2,2'-bispyrimidine (bpim), 2,2'-bipyridine (bpy), 5,5'-dimethyl-2,2'-bipyridine (5,5-mebpy), 5'-bromo-2,2'-bipyridine (5-brbpy), 5,5'-dibromo-2,2'-bipyridine (5,5-brbpy), 4,4'-dimethyl-2,2'-bipyridine (4,4-mebpy), 4,4'-dihexyl-2,2'-Bipyridine (4,4-hebpy), 1,10'-Phenanthroline (phen), 3,4,7,8'-tetramethyl-1,10'-Phenanthroline (3,4,7,8-phen). In order to determine chemical structure of Synthesized platinum complexes, $^1H(^{13}C)$-NMR, UV-vis and FT-IR were used and optical physics and chemical properties were measured PL. In the case of platinum complexes, wavelength has been identified 356~421 nm. Quantum efficiency in DMSO solution was appeared 0.05~0.46.

Design and Implementation Systolic Array FFT Processor Based on Shared Memory (공유 메모리 기반 시스토릭 어레이 FFT 프로세서 설계 및 구현)

  • In this paper, we presents the design and implementation results of the FFT processor, which supports 4096 points of operation with less memory by sharing several memory used in the base-4 systolic array FFT processor into one memory. Sharing memory provides the advantage of reducing the area, and also simplifies the flow of data as I/O of the data progresses in one memory. The presented FFT processor was implemented and verified on the FPGA device. The implementation resulted in 51,855 CLB LUTs, 29,712 CLB registers, 8 block RAM tiles and 450 DSPs, and confirmed that the memory area could be reduced by 65% compared to the existing base-4 systolic array structure.

  • In the past few years, the research of sensor networks is forced dramatically. Specially, while the research for maintaining the power of a sensor is focused, we are also concerned nth query processing related with the optimization of multiple continuous queries for decreasing in unnecessary energy consumption of sensor networks. We present the fragmentation algorithm to solve the redundancy problem in multiple continuous queries that increases in the count or the amount of transmitting data in sensor networks. The fragmentation algorithm splits one query into more than two queries using the query index (QR-4ree) in order to reduce the redundant query region between a newly created query and the existing queries. The R*-tree should be reorganized to the QR-tree right to the structure suggested. In the result, we preserve 20 percentage of the total energy in the sensor networks.

  • This paper proposes an optimal posture for the task-oriented movement of dual arm manipulator. A stability criterion function which consists of three kinds of feature-representative parameters has been utilized to define the optimal posture. The first parameter is the force which is applied to the object. The torque of each joint and position of arm are attained from the current sensor and encoder, respectively. From these two data, the applied force to an object is estimated using sum of vectors of the joint torques estimated from the measured current. In order to investigate the robustness of each posture, the variation of the end-effector from the encoder information has been utilized as the second parameter. And for the last parameter for the optimality, the total energy consumption has been used. The total consuming energy of each posture can be computed from the current information and the battery voltage. The proposed robot structure consists of a mobile inverted pendulum and dual manipulators. In order to define the optimal posture for the each object, external disturbances are applied to the mobile inverted pendulum robot and the first and second parameters are investigated to find the optimal posture among the pre-selected most representative postures. Finally, the proposed optimal posture has been verified by the proposed stability criterion function which consists of total force to the object, the fluctuation of the end-effector position, and total energy consumption. The effectiveness of the proposed algorithms has been verified and demonstrated through the practical simulations and real experiments.

Development of a Prototype for an Earthwork BIM Environment (건설현장 굴착작업을 위한 토공 BIM 프로토타입 개발)

  • The national government is pushing hard the adoption of the BIM (Building Information Modeling) technology in the construction industry. The BIM application provides a visualized environment where the construction manager can inspect the structure of buidling structures. The application also provides information on activity progresses as well as earned values. However, BIM is mostly applied to visualize a structural object with definite forms. The BIM technology needs to be extended to include an object with non-definite forms such as earthwork operations. The objective of this study is to present a prototype of earthwork BIM in the construction operation. The prototype has been built on the attributes of geological information, construction equipment and positioning. The prototype of earthwork BIM shows a 3D graphic simulation of construction equipment moving around for digging and loading.

Surface and Tribological Characteristics of Air-cooled and Oil-cooled AISI 4140 Steel (냉각공정에 따른 AISI 4140 강의 표면 및 트라이볼로지 특성)

  • AISI 4140 steel is widely used in various mechanical components owing to its superior mechanical properties. Surface hardening techniques are often used to further improve the properties, particularly for applications with moving components. The aim of this research is to understand the effect of heat treatment process on surface properties and tribological characteristics of AISI 4140 steel. In this work, we prepare two different AISI 4140 steel specimens- one cooled by air and one by oil- and determine surface properties such as surface topography and roughness using a confocal microscope. We also observe the cross-sections of the specimens using a scanning electron microscope to understand the difference in the material structure. In addition, we assess the hardness with respect to the distance from the surface using a micro-Vickers hardness tester. After characterizing the surfaces of the specimens, we investigate the wear characteristics of the specimens under hydrodynamic lubrication. The results show the presence of grooves on the surface of the oil-cooled specimens. It is likely that such grooves are formed during the cooling process using the oil. However, we observe no other significant differences in the surface properties of the specimens. The wear test results show the occurrence of severe wear on the oil-cooled specimens, which may be due to the groove formed on the surface. The results of this work may be helpful to improve surface properties using surface hardening techniques from a tribological perspective.

  • The purpose of this study was to improve not only wet-end performances but also paper characteristics by the modification of various factors like molecular design and ionic characteristics of polyacrylamides First of all physical characteristics were observed after modify molecular design of the cationic polyacrylamides to linear, branched and cross-linked. In addition it was found analysis method to confirm branch degree of cationic polyacrylamides to combine ionic titration characteristics and spectroscopic behavior, After application of these structure modified polyacrylamides to the multiple retention systems with inorganic microparticles, it was found adjusting of branch degree of polyacrylamides was very important to optimize wet-end improvement. Second, After polymerization of amphoteric polyacrylamide to have both of cationic and anionic functional group in the polymer, we observed not only physical characteristics but also wet-end improvement to apply recycled pulp and found that the improvement of solution stability to prevent hydrolysis and increase of ash retention dramatically to compare traditional cationic polyacrylamide retention aid, Finally, After polymerization of anionic polyacrylamide, we observed not only wet-end improvement but also paper characteristics to apply preflocculation of PCC and it was found the improvements of flocculation efficiency, retention, ash retention, optical properties of the paper and bursting strength to compare traditional preflocculant of cationic polyacrylamide.
