저농도 하수 유입 Membrane-BNR공정내 고정상담체 호기조에서의 SND (SND in the Fixed Media Tank of Membrane-BNR Process Treating Low C/N Wastewater)

  • This research was about T-N removal efficiency of oxic reactor in which fixed media submerged from Membrane BNR(An+Ax+Ox) process. This experiment was implemented by using fixed media and changing DO concentration in the oxic reactor. Nitrification efficiencies of all modes were more than 98%. When no media was in the oxic reactor, T-N removal efficiency was only 47.4%, while it were shown from 60.3% to 67.4% with packed media, which indicated improved efficiency of 27~42%. The removal efficiencies of TCOD and BOD were more than 89%, 98% respectively, which could satisfy the guideline of advanced sewage reclamation by Department of Environment. When DO concentration in the packed oxic-media tank was 0.5~1.0 mg/L, T-N removal efficiency was low, which resulted from insufficient nitrification in the oxic reactor. Therefore, DO concentration of bulk solution needs to be kept more than 1.0 mg/L to induce higher nitrification efficiency in the reactor in which media was submerged. Also, the selection of DO concentration is important to prevent media from being clogged.

Nitrogen Removal from Milking Center Wastewater via Simultaneous Nitrification and Denitrification Using a Biofilm Filtration Reactor

  • Milking center wastewater (MCW) has a relatively low ratio of carbon to nitrogen (C/N ratio), which should be separately managed from livestock manure due to the negative impacts of manure nutrients and harmful effects on down-stream in the livestock manure process with respect to the microbial growth. Simultaneous nitrification and denitrification (SND) is linked to inhibition of the second nitrification and reduces around 40% of the carbonaceous energy available for denitrification. Thus, this study was conducted to find the optimal operational conditions for the treatment of MCW using an attached-growth biofilm reactor; i.e., nitrogen loading rate (NLR) of 0.14, 0.28, 0.43, and $0.58kg\;m^{-3}\;d^{-1}$ and aeration rate of 0.06, 0.12, and $0.24\;m^3\;h^{-1}$ were evaluated and the comparison of air-diffuser position between one-third and bottom of the reactor was conducted. Four sand packed-bed reactors with the effective volume of 2.5 L were prepared and initially an air-diffuser was placed at one third from the bottom of the reactor. After the adaptation period of 2 weeks, SND was observed at all four reactors and the optimal NLR of $0.45kg\;m^{-3}\;d^{-1}$ was found as a threshold value to obtain higher nitrogen removal efficiency. Dissolved oxygen (DO) as one of key operational conditions was measured during the experiment and the reactor with an aeration rate of $0.12\;m^3\;h^{-1}$ showed the best performance of $NH_4-N$ removal and the higher total nitrogen removal efficiency through SND with appropriate DO level of ${\sim}0.5\;mg\;DO\;L^{-1}$. The air-diffuser position at one third from the bottom of the reactor resulted in better nitrogen removal than at the bottom position. Consequently, nitrogen in MCW with a low C/N ratio of 2.15 was successfully removed without the addition of external carbon sources.

DO농도 조절에 따른 황 충전 섬모상 반응조의 질소제거 성능 변화 (Nitrogen Removal Performance at Various DO Concentrations in the Bioreactor Packed with Submerged Cilia Media and Granular Sulfur)

  • In this study, the major operating factors in SND(simultaneous nitrification and denitrification) using bioreactor packed with submerged cilia media and granular sulfur such as variation of nitrification rate, organic matter removal efficiency and denitrification efficiency in different DO concentration were mainly evaluated. Synthetic wastewater and actual sewage were used as influent wastewater. Experiment with synthetic wastewater as influent wastewater was divided into three phases with the adjustment of DO concentration. As the results, nitrification efficiency and T-N removal efficiency in the Phase 3(DO 1.0~2.0 mg/L) were 99% and 52.3%, which is significantly greater than those in other two phases. Also, loading rate and denitrification efficiency of SCPGS(Submerged Cilia media Packed with Granular Sulfur) were calculated as $0.44kg\;NO_3^--N/m^3-day$ and 50%, respectively. On the other hand, nitrification rate was decreased from 99% to 64% according to the DO concentration with the variation from 3.0~3.5 mg/L(phase1) to 0.4~0.6mg/L(phase2). Although the nitrification rate was decreased in 64% according to the variation of the DO concentration, T-N removal rate was rapidly increased to 49% by increasing of the denitrification efficiency. Experiment with actual sewage as influent wastewater was carried out to evaluate efficiency of SCPGS in real operation condition of full-scale sewage water treatment plant. At the time, T-N removal rate in this experiment and full-scale wastewater treatment plants were given by 43% and 20%, respectively. The above results indicate that SCPGS can be used as an advanced treatment process for economical efficiency considered.

한국내 물오리나무(Ainus hirsuta) 집단의 공간적 상관관계 (Spatial Autocorrelation within a Korean Population of Alnus hirsuta)

  • 한국내 물오리나무(Ainus hirsuta) 집단의 미소지리적 변이를 공간적 상관관계에 적용하였다. 분리된 등급간 대립유전자의 각 형태의 산출을 정규분포 편차 통계에서 임의분포를 하고 있는지를 검정하였다. 모든 경우에서 예상 값이 유의성을 가지는지 Moran의 I값으로 추정한 결과 120 경우 준 24 경우(20.0%)에서 유의성을 나타내었다. 이들 값 중에서 17 경우는 음의 값을 나타내었는데 이는 한국의 물오리집단이 10등급 간격에서 유사하지 않다는 점을 시사하였다. 그 한 원인으로는 화목(火木)을 위한 인간의 간섭을 추정할 수 있다. 열매를 맺는 가지나 줄기의 간헐적인 벌목에 의해 유전자 유동이 조장되었기 때문일 것이다. 한편, 그루터기나 밑둥으로부터 영양번식을 할 수 있는 능력 또한 유전적 구조를 어지럽히는 한 요인으로 작용한 것으로 사료된다.

다공성 담체를 이용한 유동상 및 하이브리드 반응기에서의 질소제거 (Nitrogen Removal in Fluidized Bed and Hybrid Reactor using Porous Media)

  • 부착 미생물을 이용한 다공성 담체 유동상 반응기는 하폐수중의 유기물 및 질소제거에 많이 적용되어져 왔다. 특히 생물막이 형성된 담체에서는 호기, 무산소 그리고 혐기영역이 공존하여 동시적 질산화/탈질 반응에 의한 질소제거에 유리한 환경이 제공된다고 알려져 있다. 이러한 반응을 활성화시키기 위해서는 담체표면과 내부에서 산소와 유기물등의 적절한 기질확산이 이루어져야 한다. 그러나 하폐수중의 유기물농도나 생물막의 마찰조건등 운전조건에 따라서는 표면에서의 종속영양균의 과잉성장에 의해 질소 제거 반응이 저해되기도 한다. 다공성 담체 유동상 반응기에 막모듈을 결합시킨 하이브리드 반응기는 단일조내에서 활성화된 동시적 질산화/탈질 반응으로 종래의 유동상 반응기에 비해 30% 이상 질소제거 효율이 증가하였다. 미소전극 연구를 통해 담체내부의 탈질율을 조사할 수 있으며 유동상 반응기에 비하여 하이브리드 반응기내 담체내부에서는 탈질반응에 대한 유기물의 확산에 대한 제한인자가 작으며 따라서 보다 높은 탈질율을 유지할 수 있음을 보였다.

Neck dissection for oral squamous cell carcinoma: our experience and a review of the literature

  • Objectives: This article describes our experience with neck dissection in 10 patients with oral squamous cell carcinoma. Materials and Methods: Between January 2007 and October 2009, 10 patients underwent primary surgery for the treatment of squamous cell carcinoma of the oral cavity. For patients with $N_0$ disease on clinical exam, selective neck dissection (SND [I-III]) was performed. In patients with palpable cervical metastases (N+), modified radical neck dissections were performed, except in one patient in whom SND (I-III) was performed. The histopathologic reports were reviewed to assess the surgical margins, the presence of extra-capsular spread, perineural invasion, and lymphatic invasion. Results: On histopathologic examination, positive soft tissue margins were found in three patients, and regional lymph node metastases were present in five of the ten patients. Perineural invasion was noted in five patients, and extra nodal spread was found in four patients. Regional recurrence was seen in two patients and loco-regional recurrence plus distant metastasis to the tibia was observed in one patient. During the study period, three patients died. Seven patients remain free of disease to date. Conclusion: Histopathological evaluation provides important and reliable information for disease staging, treatment planning, and prognosis. The philosophy of neck dissection is evolving rapidly with regard to the selectivity with which at-risk lymph node groups are removed. The sample size in the present study is small, thus, caution should be employed when interpreting these results.

17GHz 대역의 저출력 Electronic Scanner 개발 (Development of Low-Power Electronic Scanner for 17GHz Band)

  • 오늘날 해양 업계에서 활용되는 대부분의 탐지 시스템은 고출력의 X-Band 대역을 활용한 장비들이 대다수이다. 이러한 X-Band 대역의 주파수를 활용하는 대부분의 탐지 시스템들은 광범위한 탐지 성능 이득을 기대할 수 있지만, 장비의 특성상 크고 무거우며 정밀한 탐지를 요하는 분야에서는 적합하지 않다는 한계점을 지닌다. 본 논문에서는 Ku-Band 대역 중 17GHz 주파수 대역에서 2W 미만의 저출력으로 주변의 물표뿐만 아니라 바다의 파랑까지 탐지가 가능한 Electronic Scanner를 설계 및 제작하고, 시험을 진행하였다. 저전력에서도 충분한 탐지성능을 확보하기 위하여 고성능의 패치 어레이 안테나 및 도플러 효과를 활용하여 충분한 탐지 성능을 확보하였으며, 이에 대한 시험 결과 충분한 가능성을 확인할 수 있었다.

  • First-order Gauss-Marker신호가 delta변조기에 즉가되어 granular잡음이 발생될 경우에 신호대잡음화의 표시식을 구하고, 또한 근사식에 관하여 고찰하였다. 입력신호의 adjacent correlation값과 local decoder의 prediction coefficient값간의 차에 비하여 adjacent correlation값이 클 경우에는, 입력신호와 오차신호간의 cross covariance값이 징소하므로 간단한 근사식으로 나타내었다. 이 경우에 임의의 adjacent correlation값에 대하여 적용될 수 있는 근사식을 나타내었다.

  • The Scalable Video Coding(SVC) extention of H.264/AVC standard. SVC based temporal, spatial, snd qualty scalability of video bit streams. In this paper, we will develop C-model program and hardware circuits for the chip design of the SVC decoder. In order to acquire the flexibility of the circuit design and reliability of the hardware system development. In these development, we utilize the results of the C-model program to achieve the independencies of each sub-blocks and check the efficiencies of the circuit design results.
