Differential Cryptanalysis of a 20-Round Reduced SMS4 Block Cipher (축소된 20-라운드 SMS4에 대한 차분 공격)

  • The 128-bit block cipher SMS4 which is used in WAPI, the Chinese WALN national standard, uses a 128-bit user key with the number of 32 rounds. In this paper, we present a differential attack on the 20-round SMS4 using 16-round differential characteristic. This attack requires $2^{126}$ chosen plaintexts with $2^{105.85}$ 20-round SMS4 decryptions. This result is better than any previously known cryptanalytic results on SMS4 in terms of the numbers of attacked rounds.

Improvement effect of total nitrogen and amino acid content in spent mushroom substrates by bacterial treatment (세균을 이용한 수확후배지의 총질소 및 아미노산 증진 효과)

  • This study was conducted to reuse spent mushroom substrates (SMS) of Pleurotus ostreatus and improve their nitrogen content by bacterial treatment. Two kinds of bacteria were used to investigate the increase in total nitrogen (T-N) content. Bacillus sp. (GM20-4) was isolated from SMS of oyster mushroom, and Rhodobacter sphaeroides (RS) was obtained from Gwangju Si Agricultural Technology Center. SMS samples were collected from three oyster mushroom cultivation farms located in Gyeonggi-do province, Korea. When dried SMS was inoculated with 30% culture broth of GM20-4 and RS and incubated at room temperature ($25{\pm}2^{\circ}C$) for 5 days, T-N content increased. To investigate the T-N content of other SMS, three dried SMS samples (A, B, and C) were treated by the same method using GM20-4 and RS. As a result, the T-N content of sample B was 20% higher than that of the control, whereas the T-N content of samples A and C increased to 17% and 12%, respectively. The change in T-N content by bacterial treatment of wet SMS was slightly higher than that of the control. The changes in amino acid content were also found to be higher than those in the control in all SMS samples by GM20-4 and RS treatment. Aspartic acid and glutamic acid contents were the highest among all amino acid compositions. Especially, the aspartic and glutamic acid contents of sample B increased by 2.9 folds higher than the control.

  • In this paper, we introduce improved differential and linear attacks on the SMS4 block cipher which is used in the Chinese national standard WAPI (WLAN Authentication and Privacy Infrastructure, WLAN - Wireless Local Area Network): First, we introduce how to extend previously known differential attacks on SMS4 from 20 or 21 to 22 out of the full 32 rounds. Second, we improve a previously known linear attack on 22-round reduced SMS4 from $2^{119}$ known plaintexts, $2^{109}$ memory bytes, $2^{117}$ encryptions to $2^{117}$ known plaintexts, $2^{l09}$ memory bytes, $2^{112.24}$ encryptions, by using a new linear approximation.

  • The technical progress of wireless communication in an information-oriented society is heading for the wireless internet service. Handphone is limited in a low capacity memory, size of screen, wireless internet. But it can do service in mobile, nontheless of the time, space. This paper says that online studying in wire internet is capable of servicing in mobile environment. The way of SMS transmission in the agency is linked in the SMS agency, but the way of SMS exclusive modem does service in linking with personal computer. This paper says that the SMS service is possible with SMS exclusive modem, mirroring of the client demand in database.

Compost Production using Vegetable Waste and Spent Oak Mushroom Substrate (SMS) (채소 부산물과 표고 수확후 배지를 활용한 퇴비 제조방법)

  • Spent mushroom substrate (SMS) has generally been used for the manufacture of animal feed and production of bio fuel. Limited research has been conducted in the utilization of SMS as a co-material for composting. Therefore, the main purpose of this study was to evaluate the feasibility of composting vegetable waste mixed with various ratios of SMS (30, 40, and 50%). The results showed that the C/N ratio decreased when both sawdust (from 22.0~28.8 to 17.7~20.4) and SMS (from 18.5~19.5 to 12.7~16.8) were applied for composing, owing to increased contents of nitrogen. A maturity test conducted using mechanical (Solvita) and germination tests revealed that both sawdust (92.0~101.9%) and SMS (87.8~89.2%) satisfied a criteria of maturity standard (70%). A correlation analysis between compost maturity and its chemical properties revealed that the C/N ratio and pH were the most dominant parameters for compost maturity. Overall, SMS could be utilized as a compost material and especially, vegetable waste mixed with SMS could provide sufficient nutrients for crop growth.

Radioprotective Effect of Saengmaek-san on Mice Jejunal Crypt Cell Survival and Apoptosis (생맥산(生脈散)의 방사선 보호효과 : 생쥐 소낭세포 재생과 Apoptosis에 미치는 영향)

  • Backgrounds & Objects: The aim of this study was to investigate the radioprotective effect of Shengmai-san(SMS), a herbal medicine, on mice jejunal crypt cell survival and Apoptosis. Methods: Mice were devided into 4 groups according to radiation dose and SMS treatment: Normal was the group without irradiation. Control was the group treated with D.W before 10 Gy irradiation. SMS 2.9 was sample group treated with 2.9 mg/10 g of SMS extract before 10 Gy irradiation and SMS 29 was sample group treated with 29 mg/10 g of SMS extract before 10 Gy irradiation. And Each group were sacrificedat 24 hours and 72 hours after irradiation. To analyze the crypt survival, hematoxylin-eosin staining was used and to analyze the apoptosis, the TUNEL assay was done. Results: 1. From the microcolony survival assay, the SMS 2.9 and SMS 29 showed the radioprotective effect with a statistical significance compared to the control group at 24 hr (P < 0.01) and 72 hr (p < 0.001) after 10 Gy irradiatien. And the differences of radioprotective effect between SMS 2.9 and SMS 29 were net significant. 2. The results of the TUNEL assay showed that the apoptotic index in SMS 2.9 and SMS 29 was significantly decreased, as compared to the control group at both 24 hr ( p < 0.01) and 72 hr (SMS 2.9 : p < 0.001. SMS 29 : P < 0.01) after 10Gy irradiation And the differences of between SMS 2.9 and SMS 29 were not significant. Conclusions: It could be suggested that the Shengmai-san has a prominent Protective effect in mice intestines against the radiation damage. And the radieprotective effect seems to be related to inhibition of the apoptosis.

Effects of Self-care Program Using SMS, E-mail, or Telephone Call on Self-care Compliance and Nutritional Status in Hemodialysis Patients (혈액투석환자에서 문자메시지(SMS), 이메일 및 전화를 이용한 자가간호 프로그램이 자가간호 이행과 영양 상태에 미치는 효과)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to determine the effects of self-care program using Short message service (SMS), e-mail, or telephone call on self-care compliance and nutritional status in maintenance of hemodialysis patient. Methods: Nonequivalent pretest-posttest control experimental design was used. Ninety-six patients were allocated to control (n=24), SMS (n=24), e-mail (n=24), or telephone (n=24) group from four hospitals. Experimental groups received self-care program about hemodialysis diet, drug administration, exercise, and fistula care by SMS, e-mail, or telephone call respectively at 3 times a week for 4 weeks. Results: Subjective self-care compliance, and objective self-care compliance including interdialytic weight of SMS and telephone groups were significantly increased than those of control groups. However, nutritional status of SMS and e-mail groups were significantly improved than those of control groups in albumin and protein level. Conclusion: Self-care program using SMS and telephone call were effective on promoting self-care compliance, while SMS and e-mail were effective on improving nutritional status. The pop-up remaining effect and easy accessible effect of SMS message in busy daily life was considered as an alarm to control fluid and diet.

Physico-chemical, Nutritional, and Enzymatic Characteristics of Shiitake Spent Mushroom Substrate (SMS) (표고버섯 수확 후 배지의 이화학적, 영양적, 효소적 특성)

  • In Korea, edible mushrooms are produced largely on commercial artificial media, so the annual production of spent mushroom substrate (SMS), as a by-product of the mushroom industry, is estimated at over 200 million tons. This SMS is assumed to contain abundant fungal mycelia and pre-fruiting bodies, as well as various nutritive and bioactive compounds that are presently discarded. This study examined the physico-chemical, nutritional, and enzymatic characteristics of uninoculated sterilized medium (USM) and SMS of shiitake mushrooms with the aim of developing a high-value added product from SMS. The contents of crude protein, crude lipid, and ash were higher after the third SMS harvest ($SMS-A-3^{rd}$) than in USM or $SMS-A-1^{st}$. The contents of Ca, Mg, and P in $SMS-A-3^{rd}$ were 2.95, 2.35, and 2.1-fold higher compared than in USM. No As or Cd was detected in USM or SMS. The pH, Brix, and acidity were 4.6, 20.0, and 1.4, respectively in $SMS-A-3^{rd}$, but 5.6, 6.0, and 0.0, respectively, in USM. These results suggest a highly active production of soluble components and organic acids in $SMS-A-3^{rd}$. The distinct color differences noted for USM, $SMS-A-1^{st}$, and $SMS-A-3^{rd}$ could be used as a mycelial growth indicator. Enzyme activity assays using the APIZYM system showed that SMS is a potent source of hydrolysis-related enzymes, especially esterase (C4) and ${\beta}$-glucuronidase. Our results suggested that the SMS of shiitake has a high potential for use in environmental, agricultural, and stock-breeding industries, for example, as active ingredients for sewage treatment, waste-polymer degradation, and feed additives.

Yield characteristics of Pleurotus ostreatus according to the use of spent mushroom substrate with high nitrogen content (질소원이 증진된 수확후배지를 이용한 느타리버섯 수량 특성)

  • The aim of this study was to re-use spent mushroom substrate (SMS) with increased total nitrogen (T-N) and amino acid content and reduce the amount of cottonseed meal used as nutrient supplement in Pleurotus ostreatus cultivation. Bacteria used for improvement of the T-N content were GM20-4(Bacillus sp.) and Rhodobacter sphaeroides (RS). GM20-4 was isolated from the SMS of P. ostreatus and RS was obtained from Gwangjusi agricultural technology center. SMS in T1, T2, and T3 was reused as substrate after drying and the T-N content of dried SMS (D-SMS) was increased by 0.34% by treatment with the bacteria. T1 with 8% D-SMS and T2 with 18% D-SMS had higher rates of primordia formation compared with T3 and the control. The biological efficiency of the control and of treatment with 8%, 18%, and 26% D-SMS was 110%, 114%, 112%, and 79%, respectively. Considering the economic cost, yield, and biological efficiency, T2 with 18% D-SMS as the culture substrate for P. ostreatus was shown to be the most effective for cultivation.

Methodology of SMS Manual Enactment for Approved Training Organization(ATO) focusing on C Flight Training Center (항공종사자 전문교육기관의 SMS 매뉴얼 제정을 위한 방법론 - C 비행훈련원의 사례를 중심으로 -)

  • This thesis is to provide procedures for documenting implementation performance and methodology of practical SMS enactment for Approved Training Organization(ATO). As an example, C flight training center, according MOLIT "Guidance on SMS Implementation", derived 32 implementation documents after writing the SMS manual to implement it. The 32 implementation documents are divided into 5 fields. In detail, they are (1) 2 documents on SMS Manual, (2) 7 documents on Safety policy and objectives (3) 3 documents on Safety risk management (4) 15 documents on Safety assurance (5) 5 documents on Safety promotion. By describing the documented performances according to these 32 implementation documents that was in use for 1 year in 2017, it is suggested that this procedure can be a methodology for practically enactment and implementing the SMS manual.
