대.중소기업 상생협력 관점에서의 중소기업 품질혁신 운동에 관한 연구 - 싱글PPM 운동을 중심으로 - (A Study on Quality Innovation Movements of the Small & Medium-sized Company within the Framework of the cooperation with the Large-sized Company - Focused on the Single PPM Movement -)

  • Quality management has been applied to the industry for strengthening the competitiveness regardless of the size of company. However, it has been argued that the operational models for quality management used in the large-sized enterprise could not be applied to the small & medium-sized enterprise (SME) directly. This paper analyzes the states and outcomes of movements for quality innovation in the SME and tries to give some suggestions for improving and spreading the movements within the framework of the cooperation with the large sized company. Survey results show that the preferable quality movements depends on the size of company. Especially, the Single PPM movement is most preferable in the SME. It contributes th decreasing the fraction defective and to vitalizing the communication and cooperation between large-sized company and SME.

  • Due to the globoal economic effect, Taiwan's small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) is much threatened by China. Since remarkable advances have being made in information technology, taking competition advantage for an enterprise has become a very important issue when facing rigorous global competition. However, the business of the enterprise starts with finding the customers' demands, and ends with fulfilling customers' demands. Therefore, in order to increase competition advantage for SME, the customer management must be effectively strengthened, especially by increasing customer satisfaction and maintaining good relationship with the customer. This is the key for an enterprise leading to success. The purpose of this study is aiming to discussing the relational analysis between customer and SME by viewing the four aspects of customer relationship management (CRM), which are relation marketing, customer service, customer value, and customer satisfaction. Moreover, this research will perform an empirical analysis on CRM for a typical small and medium-sized company so as to grasp its real definition and enterprises' demands. The conclusions will be drawn from our literature survey and practical experience as well as site investigation. Recommendations are evolved from discussing the interaction between customers and enterprises in improving their constructing factors and increasing benefits and values.

중소기업수출경기지수 개발에 관한 연구 (A Study on Developing SMEEBI(Small and Medium-sized Enterprise Export Business Index))

  • Korea, a resource-scarce country, has been undergoing export-led economic growth in the form of processing and intermediary trade for the past several decades. In Korea, which has an export-led economic structure centered on processing trade, the export economy precedes the domestic economy, so Korea's monthly export performance has been used as an important indicator of economic indicators in itself. In recent decades, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), which account for 99% of the total number of domestic enterprises, account for about 35% of exports as of 2021. In this study, from the viewpoint of emphasizing the export contribution of SMEs, the Small and Medium-sized Enterprise Export Business Index is developed based on the actual export performance of SMEs, through which this paper could present alternative index differentiated from the existing Business Survey Indexes.

중소기업을 위한 오픈소스 ERP의 도입에 관한 연구: 베트남 기업 사례를 중심으로 (Open Source ERP Software for Small-Medium Enterprise: A Case of Vietnamese Firm)

  • Most of enterprises use various applications for serving their routine business. One of most widespread applications is the enterprise resource planning (ERP). This paper focuses on open source ERP software and aims to find out what benefits it can bring to small and medium-sized enterprises (SME) comparing to proprietary ERP. To serve the purpose, this paper introduces the successful adoption of open source ERP software through the case study of small Vietnamese firm. The results of this paper show the advantage of open source ERP software and the possibility of adoption for SME.

The Contribution of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises in the Economic Growth of the Southeast Region of Vietnam

  • This research was conducted to check the impact of factors related to the small and medium-sized enterprises (SME) on the economic growth in the Southeast region of Vietnam, over the years from 1996-2019. This paper applies a combination of FEM, DKSE, GMM, and RIDGE-FEM regression methods to estimate the influence of independent variables on the economic growth of the whole Southeast region with the panel data collected from GSO; and applying the OLS regression model for each province. The study finds that all variables have a statistically significant positive impact on the economic growth of the study area. Accordingly, the importance of the variables is in the following order: (1) the proportion of workers by professional and technical qualification (SMEH), (2) the number of vocational training schools (LnTSCH), and educational level of workers (LnSchool), (3) the number of SME enterprises (LnSME); (4) The average number of years in the schooling of employees in the enterprise (LnSchool); (5) Enterprise capital (LnCAP); and (6) the average number of employees of SME (LnSMER). The research results also show that factors related to the quality of labor resources have a more positive influence on growth than both the labor size and financial capital of SMEs.

Analyses of the Effects of Government Export Promotion Programs on Export Performance: Empirical Evidence for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises in Korea

  • Purpose - This study empirically examines the effect of the Korean government export promotion program (EPP) on small and medium-sized enterprise (SMEs) export performance using firm-level data. Unlike most previous studies that investigated some specific samples of firms, this study analyzes a vast amount of SME data of the Korean Small and Medium Business Administration over the period 2005 to 2008. Design/methodology - An endogeneity problem arises when a firm's probability of being selected is correlated with the likelihood of successfully implementing EPPs. To control for the endogeneity of the EPPs in a relatively short-period sample, we employ 2-Stage Residual Inclusion (2SRI) RE-Tobit and bivariate Tobit procedure. Findings - Analyses show that Korean government EPPs have positive significant effects on SME exports. Empirical results also show that SME export activities are significantly encouraged by R&D investment and capital intensity, but not obviously by labor productivity. Originality/value - This study provides evidence that SME capital intensity, R&D investment, and the number of workers are significant determinants to SME exporting activities, whereas per worker labor cost and employee education are not. These results imply that even for SMEs, firm size is a major factor in promoting exporting activities.

  • One of the most important issues in a small and medium sized enterprise (SME) is to identify how to apply IT to the organization so that it maximizes the effectiveness of IT. In general, a large company mainly plans to adopt, implement, and stimulate a new IT in a viewpoint of advanced IT system's capability for maximizing the effectiveness of IT. However, SME requires a totally different approach since SME's situation is different from a large enterprise's one. In this study, we investigate several factors that have an influence on the successful IT adoption and implementation of a SME through the case of Hwacheon. We also find out that CEO's support, CEO-initiating strategic meeting, IT development ability, and organizational compatibility in the introduction stage of IT are relatively more important than those in the implementation stage of IT, whereas IT flexibility, system quality, training and support, overcoming organizational resistance and performance improvement in the implementation stage of IT play critical roles in the IS success. Our results show that the advance of IT may not guarantee the success of IT implementation.

중소기업정보화 수준 조사 지표 개선 사례 연구 (Case Study for Restructuring Informatization Level Indices of Small and Medium sizd Enterprises)

  • In this paper, we report the public IT policy case results to restructure informatization level indices for small and medium sized enterprise(SME). The indices restructuring project was initiated by TIPA with the group of experts during 2011, and the newly amended indices was employed as the formal instrument to measure SME informatization level. The critical drivers to reform the indices include simplification for more accurate measurement of SME informatization level, reshaping key representative indices of smart IT to better publicize SME's interest toward advanced IT, and systematic reconfiguration of performance measures which reflect business performance enhancement effect through IT investment. Indeed, the IT performance indices are unified to incorporate the instrument for general SME informatization level survey and IT adoption subsidy's effectiveness appraisal. The procedures and details of logic illustrated in this paper provides useful insight for successful implementation of SME informatization as well as for the better policy deployment of IT subsidization for SMEs.

  • SME(small and medium-sized enterprise) 환경의 스마트제조 환경에서는 실제 제조라인에서 동작하는 센서(Sensor) 및 액추에이터(Actuator)와 이를 관리하는 PLC(Programmable Logic Controller), 더불어 그러한 PLC를 제어 및 관리하는 HMI(Human-Machine Interface), 그리고 다시 PLC와 HMI를 관리하는 OT(Operational Technology)서버로 구성되어 있으며, 제어자동화를 담당하는 PLC 및 HMI는 공장운영을 위한 응용시스템인 OT서버 및 현장 자동화를 위한 로봇, 생산설비와의 직접적인 연결을 수행하고 있어서 스마트제조 환경에서 보안 기술의 개발이 중점적으로 필요한 영역이다. 하지만, SME 환경의 스마트제조에서는 과거의 폐쇄 환경에서 동작하던 시스템으로 구성되어 있는 경우가 상당하여 인터넷을 통해 외부와 연동되어 동작하게 되는 현재의 환경에서는 보안에 취약한 부분이 존재한다. 이러한 SME 환경의 스마트제조 보안 내재화를 이루기 위해서는, 스마트제조 SW 및 HW 개발 단계에서 IEC 62443-4-1 Secure Product Development Lifecycle에 따른 프로세스 정립 및 IEC 62443-4-2 Component 보안 요구사항과 IEC 62443-3-3 System 보안 요구사항에 적합한 개발 방법론의 도입이 필요하다. 따라서, 본 논문에서는 SME 환경에서의 스마트제조에 보안 내재화를 제공하기 위한 IEC 62443 기반의 개발 보안 생애주기 프로세스에 대한 적용 방안을 제안한다.

  • The major market of Information Systems has been large companies. But with the rapid development of light weight Information Technology, the importance of SME (Small and Medium sized Enterprise) sector has increased dramatically. Many solutions have appeared in market for SMEs. Although there are many differences in the context of IT use between large companies and SMEs, not many studies has focused on this point. This study analyzes the preference for ERP, SCM, CRM, etc. by SMEs.
