  • Generally, the doctors manually delineated the prostate boundary seeing the image by their eyes, but the manual method not only needed quite much time but also had different boundaries depending on doctors. To reduce the effort like them the automatic delineating methods are needed, but detecting the boundary is hard to do since there are lots of uncertain textures or speckle noises. There have been studied in SVM, SIFT, Gabor texture filter, snake-like contour, and average-shape model methods. Besides, there were lots of studies about 2 and 3 dimension images and CT and MRI. But no studies have been developed superior to human experts and they need additional studies. For this, this paper proposes a method that delineates the boundary predicting its texture features and its average distribution on the prostate image. As result, we got the similar boundary as the method of human experts.

Analysis of the Increase of Matching Points for Accuracy Improvement in 3D Reconstruction Using Stereo CCTV Image Data

  • Recently, there has been growing interest in spatial data that combines information and communication technology with smart cities. The high-precision LiDAR (Light Dectection and Ranging) equipment is mainly used to collect three-dimensional spatial data, and the acquired data is also used to model geographic features and to manage plant construction and cultural heritages which require precision. The LiDAR equipment can collect precise data, but also has limitations because they are expensive and take long time to collect data. On the other hand, in the field of computer vision, research is being conducted on the methods of acquiring image data and performing 3D reconstruction based on image data without expensive equipment. Thus, precise 3D spatial data can be constructed efficiently by collecting and processing image data using CCTVs which are installed as infrastructure facilities in smart cities. However, this method can have an accuracy problem compared to the existing equipment. In this study, experiments were conducted and the results were analyzed to increase the number of extracted matching points by applying the feature-based method and the area-based method in order to improve the precision of 3D spatial data built with image data acquired from stereo CCTVs. For techniques to extract matching points, SIFT algorithm and PATCH algorithm were used. If precise 3D reconstruction is possible using the image data from stereo CCTVs, it will be possible to collect 3D spatial data with low-cost equipment and to collect and build data in real time because image data can be easily acquired through the Web from smart-phones and drones.

A Salient Based Bag of Visual Word Model (SBBoVW): Improvements toward Difficult Object Recognition and Object Location in Image Retrieval

  • Object recognition and object location have always drawn much interest. Also, recently various computational models have been designed. One of the big issues in this domain is the lack of an appropriate model for extracting important part of the picture and estimating the object place in the same environments that caused low accuracy. To solve this problem, a new Salient Based Bag of Visual Word (SBBoVW) model for object recognition and object location estimation is presented. Contributions lied in the present study are two-fold. One is to introduce a new approach, which is a Salient Based Bag of Visual Word model (SBBoVW) to recognize difficult objects that have had low accuracy in previous methods. This method integrates SIFT features of the original and salient parts of pictures and fuses them together to generate better codebooks using bag of visual word method. The second contribution is to introduce a new algorithm for finding object place based on the salient map automatically. The performance evaluation on several data sets proves that the new approach outperforms other state-of-the-arts.

  • 스마트폰, 블랙박스, CCTV 등을 통해 다양하고 방대한 영상 데이터가 발생하고 있다. 그중에서 사람의 얼굴 영상을 통해 개인을 인식 및 식별하고 감정 상태를 분석하려는 다양한 연구가 진행되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 디지털영상처리 분야에서 널리 사용되고 있는 SIFT알고리즘을 이용하여, 얼굴영상에 대한 특징점을 추출하고 이를 기반으로 성별, 나이 및 기초적인 감정 상태를 분류할 수 있는 시스템을 제안한다.

  • In this paper, we propose an integrated algorithm for scene recognition, which has been a challenging computer vision problem, with application to mobile robot localization. The proposed scene recognition method utilizes SIFT and visual words as local-level features and GIST as a global-level feature. As local-level and global-level features complement each other, it results in improved performance for scene recognition. This improved algorithm is of low computational complexity and robust to image distortions.

  • This paper describes an approach to detect interesting objects using satellite images. This paper focuses on the interesting objects that have common special patterns but do not have identical shapes and sizes. The previous technologies are still insufficient for automatic finding of the interesting objects based on operation of special pattern analysis. In order to overcome the circumstances, this paper proposes a methodology to obtain the special patterns of interesting objects considering their common features and their related characteristics. This paper applies MSER(Maximally Stable Extremal Regions) for the region detection and corner detector in order to extract the features of the interesting object. This paper conducts a case study and obtains the experimental results of the case study, which is efficient in reducing processing time and efforts comparing to the previous manual searching.

  • A key component for autonomous mobile robot is to localize ifself. In this paper we suggest a vision-based localization and compensation of robot's location using ultrasound. Mobile robot travels along wall and searches each feature in indoor environment and transformed absolute coordinates of actuality environment using these points and builds a map. And we obtain information of the environment because mobile robot travels along wall. Localzation search robot's location candidate point by ultrasound and decide position among candidate point by features matching.

  • In this paper, we propose a 3D modeling method using Laser Slit Beam and Stereo Camera. We can get depth information of image by analyzing projected Laser Slit Beam on object. 3D modeling is demanded exquisite merge of 3D data. In our approach, we can get the depth image where the reliability is high. Each reconstructed 3D modeling is combined by the sink information which is acquired by SIFT (Scale Invariant Feature Transform) Algorithm. We perform experiments using indoor images. The results show that the proposed method works well in indoor environments

  • Methods of Object recognition from camera image are to compare features of color. edge or pattern with model in a general way. SIFT(scale-invariant feature transform) has good performance but that has high complexity of computation. Using simple color histogram has low complexity. but low performance. In this paper we represent a model as a color cooccurrence histogram. and we improve performance using pyramid matching. The color cooccurrence histogram keeps track of the number of pairs of certain colored pixels that occur at certain separation distances in image space. The color cooccurrence histogram adds geometric information to the normal color histogram. We suggest object recognition by pyramid matching of color cooccurrence histogram.

  • The discovery of nearest neighbors, without training in advance, has many applications, such as the formation of mosaic images, image matching, image retrieval and image stitching. When the quantity of data is huge and the number of dimensions is high, the efficient identification of a nearest neighbor (NN) is very important. This study proposes a variation of the KD-tree - the arbitrary KD-tree (KDA) - which is constructed without the need to evaluate variances. Multiple KDAs can be constructed efficiently and possess independent tree structures, when the amount of data is large. Upon testing, using extended synthetic databases and real-world SIFT data, this study concludes that the KDA method increases computational efficiency and produces satisfactory accuracy, when solving NN problems.
