An Approach to Promote the Public Sector System Integration Market in Korea (공공 System Integration 시장의 활성화 방안)

  • This paper deals with an approach to boost the public sector SI market in Korea. In order to promote competition powers of the software industry in Korea, a software industry promotion law has been issued, which restricts large SI companies from competing in the public sector system integration market. However, naturally many SI projects in public sectors are too large and complicated to be carried by small and medium size companies. This paper proposes an approach to reform the SI market for those small and medium size SI companies.

  • SI(System Integration) process in KSLV-I development project is integrate whole assemblies which was submitted to system integration supervising team to one complete launch vehicle with proper quality control through test and verification and launch KSLV-I. It is not a one or a few teams' separate job but overall comprehensive job which request all related function group and manufacturing companies' voluntary cooperation. This paper was intended to provide entire SI process outline to whole related function groups and manufacturing companies for better cooperation in SI process and will be revised through continuos discussion among SI supervising group, whole function groups and manufacturing companies.

  • The broad meaning of system integration is to satisfy user requirement, and to secure and offer Hardware, Software, network, System development, maintenance, education and manpower in his own responsibility for successful business. But the basic concept of system integration is not justified and the methodology of propel procedure is not established. Therefore, in this thesis. first, We established the bagic concept of system integration in practical view. second, We modeled the propel procedure of system integration with many large project examples in view of up to date IT (information technology) view. We can enhance the compatative advantage by liking organizational strategy and IT and executing GIS project in view of system integration

  • In order to accomplish large-size information systems successfully, one of the most improtant factor is the system integration(SI) of individual software projects which consist of the systems. A developer of each project should consider aspects of SI through the development cycle, and a manager of the entire system should manage, control, and evaluate each from a SI point of view. In this research, management models for the system managers, development models for the developers of unit projects, and standardized output documents for the management and evaluation purpose are presented based on the SI concepts.

Wafer-Level Three-Dimensional Monolithic Integration for Intelligent Wireless Terminals

  • A three-dimensional (3D) IC technology platform is presented for high-performance, low-cost heterogeneous integration of silicon ICs. The platform uses dielectric adhesive bonding of fully-processed wafer-to-wafer aligned ICs, followed by a three-step thinning process and copper damascene patterning to form inter-wafer interconnects. Daisy-chain inter-wafer via test structures and compatibility of the process steps with 130 nm CMOS sal devices and circuits indicate the viability of the process flow. Such 3D integration with through-die vias enables high functionality in intelligent wireless terminals, as vertical integration of processor, large memory, image sensors and RF/microwave transceivers can be achieved with silicon-based ICs (Si CMOS and/or SiGe BiCMOS). Two examples of such capability are highlighted: memory-intensive Si CMOS digital processors with large L2 caches and SiGe BiCMOS pipelined A/D converters. A comparison of wafer-level 3D integration 'lith system-on-a-chip (SoC) and system-in-a-package (SiP) implementations is presented.

A Study on the Factors and Measurement of Quality of System Integration Service (정보시스템 통합 서비스의 품질요인 및 측정에 관한 연구)

  • This study addresses the development of a quality measurement of information systems integration(SI) service. Several dimensions which affect on quality of systems integration service have been identified and tested. Also, a measurement tool(questionnaire) of the factors has been developed. To achieve above purpose, extensive literature review and in-depth interview with several SI managers and customers were used. We suggested the analysis framework including performance variables such as quality, customer satisfaction, intention of renewal contract, and contribution to better customer's information system and the quality factors as well. To verify the research framework, collected data from the survey was analyzed statistically. The data from 73 respondents was used for analysis. Consequently, we identified eight factors and developed a 41-item instrument with Likert 5 points to measure the quality of SI service. It was proved that the 41-item instrument suggested in this study was very useful to measure the performance of SI service such as quality and customer satisfaction. Also it was shown that the instrument measured intention of renewal contract and contribution of customer's information system well.

A Value-oriented System Integration Project Sizing and Cost Estimation Model (가치중심의 SI (System Integration) 사업 규모 및 비용산정 모형 구축 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to construct a value-oriented sizing and cost estimation model for system integration projects. In particular, this study is to build a system architecture design and integration cost model, and a network design and implementation cost model. Unlike software development projects, system integration projects include knowledge-intensive professional services on system architecture and network design areas. Because of these work's high invisibility, the cost of these services is hard to estimate and measure. Therefore, we need to develop value-oriented cost models. This study presents 6 value-oriented cost models, and tests statistical significance of these models with real system integration project data. The results show that cost factors on these models are valid, and models are statistically significant. Future work is needed to integrate various cost models and apply the whole model to field projects to increase model's prediction accuracy.
