  • This study describes the design and implementation of SHF band Downconverter Digital Satellite Communication. The SHF band Downconverter unit consists of PLDRO and Frequency converter. In Frequency converter, microstrip BPF and LPF designed through the pre EM simulation are implemented to minimize the unwanted spurious in Frequency converter. Through the pre-simulation analysis of space environment, the possibility of and minimized about the malfunction of equipment and we designed a reliable SHF band Downconverter through simulation for a TID according to the vibration generated during the launch and space radiation environment, and compared pre-simulation of main performance results to test results about main performances of SHF band Downconverter after production.

  • This study describes the design and implementation of SHF band Low Noise Amplifier of Digital Satellite Communication. We have applied to HEMT part to minimize Noise Figure of system. and minimized the potential for the occurrence of such erroneous operation of equipment through the simulations of the space environment. We designed a reliable Low Noise Amplifier through simulation for a TID according to the vibration generated during the launch and space radiation environment, and compared pre-simulation of main performance results to test results about main performances of Low Noise Amplifier after production.

  • This study describes the design and implementation of Antenna for Digital Satellite Communication. The Antenna unit for SHF band consists of Reflector, Septom Polarizer, Feed Horn and Support Frame etc. Thought analysis of space environment before production, the possibility of the malfunction of equipment minimized and we designed a reliable Antenna through simulation for vibration and thermal analysis generated during the launch, and compared pre-simulation of main performance results to test results about main performances of Antenna after production. After fabricating the antenna, the maximum gain of the antenna main beam is 36.5dBi, which satisfies the requirement of 35dBi or more, and it also satisfies the requirement of -20dB for return loss of less than -24dB. Also, the isolation of the transmission and reception of the antenna is -22.6dB or less, which satisfies the requirement of -20dB or less. The antenna for digital satellite communication described in this paper can be used in the satellite field of geostationary earth orbit and low earth orbit requiring high reliability in the future.

  • This study describes the design and implementation of EGSE for Digital Satellite Communication. The EGSE is a equipment that evaluates digital satellite communication and requires precise and accurate measurement. EGSE consists of a PLDIU and IIU(Instrument Interface Unit), Up/Down converter for SHF band, Modems to verify the Digital Satellite Communication. The EGSE was used for performance verification and space environment test such as thermal vacuum after developing digital satellite communication.

  • In the defence wireless communications, conventional Anti-Jamming techniques(Frequency Hopping/Spread Spectrum or Direct Sequence/Spread Spectrum) are used to overcome a intentional interfering signals which are single/multitone or partial band jammer etc. DS/SS techniques is very strong on tone jamming signal but not to be on a partial band jammer. So FH/SS AJ performances are expected method of an substitution of DS/SS, however FH/SS could not have good performance on some BMTJ(Band Multi-tone Jammer). So this paper proposes FH-CSS (Frequency Hopped - Chirp Spread Spectrum) to get more robustness against jammers(BMTJ, PBNJ) and analyze the AJ performances.

  • This study introduces about the analysis, verification and implementation of Digital Communication Satellite transponder. Through the pre-performance analysis of each component by the circuit level simulation, each component's performance was checked whether satisfying the specifications. When each of the components was connected in order, System's performances were evaluated through system harmonic balanced simulation whether satisfying the specifications. Through pre-analysis of the system performance, specification of each component was defined. On the basis of that specification, Components which comprise the Digital Communication Satellite repeater were manufactured, and finally, the overall system performance check was made by integrating the components of Digital Communication Satellite transponder.
