This article presents an analysis into the nonlinear forced vibration of a micro cylindrical shell reinforced by carbon nanotubes (CNTs) with considering agglomeration effects. The structure is subjected to magnetic field and transverse harmonic mechanical load. Mindlin theory is employed to model the structure and the strain gradient theory (SGT) is also used to capture the size effect. Mori-Tanaka approach is used to estimate the equivalent material properties of the nanocomposite cylindrical shell and consider the CNTs agglomeration effect. The motion equations are derived using Hamilton's principle and the differential quadrature method (DQM) is employed to solve them for obtaining nonlinear frequency response of the cylindrical shells. The effect of different parameters including magnetic field, CNTs volume percent and agglomeration effect, boundary conditions, size effect and length to thickness ratio on the nonlinear forced vibrational characteristic of the of the system is studied. Numerical results indicate that by enhancing the CNTs volume percent, the amplitude of system decreases while considering the CNTs agglomeration effect has an inverse effect.

Based on the strain gradient theory (SGT), vibration analysis of an embedded micro cylindrical shell reinforced with agglomerated carbon nanotubes (CNTs) is investigated. The elastic medium is simulated by the orthotropic Pasternak foundation. The structure is subjected to magnetic field in the axial direction. For obtaining the equivalent material properties of structure and considering agglomeration effects, the Mori-Tanaka model is applied. The motion equations are derived on the basis of Mindlin cylindrical shell theory, energy method and Hamilton's principal. Differential quadrature method (DQM) is proposed to evaluate the frequency of system for different boundary conditions. The effects of different parameters such as CNTs volume percent, agglomeration of CNTs, elastic medium, magnetic field, boundary conditions, length to radius ratio and small scale parameter are shown on the frequency of the structure. The results indicate that the effect of CNTs agglomeration plays an important role in the frequency of system so that considering agglomeration leads to lower frequency. Furthermore, the frequency of structure increases with enhancing the small scale parameter.

A uridine diphosphate-glucose:sterol glycosyltransferase-encoding gene was isolated and cloned from the established fosmid library of Micromonospora rhodorangea ATCC 27932 that usually produces the aminoglycoside antibiotic geneticin. The gene consists of 1,185 base pairs and encodes a 41.4 kDa protein, which was heterologously expressed in Escherichia coli BL21(DE3). In silico analyses of the deduced gene product suggested that it is a member of the family 1 glycosyltransferases. The recombinant protein MrSGT was able to catalyze the transfer of a glucosyl moiety onto the C-3 hydroxy function in sterols (β-sitosterol, campesterol, and cholesterol), resulting in the corresponding steryl glucosides (β-sitosterol-3-O-β-ᴅ-glucoside, campesterol-3-O-β-ᴅ-glucoside, and cholesterol-3-O-β-ᴅ-glucoside). This enzyme prefers phytosterols to cholesterol, and also shows substrate flexibility to some extent, in that it could recognize a number of acceptor substrates.
Background: Salivary gland tumors (SGT) are one of the most complex human neoplasms, demonstrating variations in their clinicopathological profile related to racial and geographic differences. Few studies with large samples have been reported in Iran. We here investigated a large group of patients in southern Iran. Materials and Methods: In this retrospective study, all cases of primary epithelial salivary gland tumors, which had been recorded in a 5 years period from 2005-2009, were enrolled. Clinical data such as histopathologic type and site of the lesion as well as patients' age and gender were analyzed. Results: Data of 366 cases of SGTs were recorded. Pleomorphic adenoma (80.2%) and adenoid cystic carcinoma (46.6%) were the most common benign and malignant neoplasms. Male to female ratio (M/F) and the mean age of patients were 1:1.05 and 37.7 for benign tumors while they were 1.2:1 and 50.6 for malignant tumors, respectively. Parotid and minor salivary glands were involved more frequently. Conclusions: Although the salivary gland tumours encountered were similar in most of their characteristics to those reported in other countries, some differences such as relative frequency and age and gender prevalence were discovered. These findings should help surgeons and pathologists for more accurate diagnosis, management and treatment.
Background: The purpose of this prospective randomized single-blind clinical trial was to evaluate the effect of tilting the head on the anesthetic efficacy of inferior alveolar nerve block (IANB) in patients with symptomatic irreversible pulpitis. Methods: Ninety-two patients were divided into two groups: the first group received IANB and the head was tilted in the direction of the block for 15 min, whereas the second group received IANB and the head was tilted to the opposite side. Access cavity preparation was initiated after 15 min. Success was defined as no pain or faint/weak/mild pain during endodontic access preparation and instrumentation. The anesthetic success rates were analyzed by Pearson chi-square test at 5% significance levels. Results: The same side position and opposite side position yielded 41% and 30% anesthetic success rates, respectively; there was no significant difference between the two sides. Conclusions: Relative head position has no effect on the anesthetic success rate of IANB.
Material defects in the Steam Generator Tubes (SGT) of sodium cooled fast breeder reactor (PFBR) can lead to leakage of water into sodium. The water and sodium reaction will lead to major accidents. Therefore, the examination of steam generator tubes for the early detection of defects is an important requirement for safety and economic considerations. In this work, the Magnetic Flux Leakage (MFL) based Non Destructive Testing (NDT) technique is used to perform the defect detection process. The rectangular notch defects on the outer surface of steam generator tubes are modeled using COMSOL multiphysics 4.3a software. The obtained MFL images are de-noised to improve the integrity of flaw related information. Grey Level Co-occurrence Matrix (GLCM) features are extracted from MFL images and taken as input parameter to train the neural network. A comparative study on characterization have been carried out using feed-forward back propagation (FFBP) and cascade-forward back propagation (CFBP) algorithms. The results of both algorithms are evaluated with Mean Square Error (MSE) as a prediction performance measure. The average percentage error for length, depth and width are also computed. The result shows that the feed-forward back propagation network model performs better in characterizing the defects.

Accurate and consistent characterization of defects in steam generator tubes (SGT) in nuclear power plants is one of the key issues in the field of nondestructive testing since the large number of signals to be analyzed in a time-limited in-service inspection causes a serious problem in practice. This paper presents an effective approach to this difficult task of automated classification of motorized rotating pancake coil (MRPC) eddy current flaw acquired from tube specimens with deliberated defects using deep neural networks (DNN). This approach consists of five steps, namely, the data acquisition using the MRPC probe in the tube, the signal preprocessing to make data more suitable for training DNN, the data augmentation for boosting a training performance, the training of DNN, and finally demonstration of the trained DNN for discriminating the axial and circumferential defects. The high performance obtained in this study shows that DNN is useful for classification of defects in tubes from the MRPC eddy current signals even though the number of signals is very large.

Active plant immune response involving programmed cell death called the hypersensitive response (HR) is elicited by microbial effectors delivered through the type III secretion system (T3SS). The marine bacterium Hahella chejuensis contains two T3SSs that are similar to those of animal pathogens, but it was able to elicit HR-like cell death in the land plant Nicotiana benthamiana. The cell death was comparable with the transcriptional patterns of H. chejuensis T3SS-1 genes, was mediated by SGT1, a general regulator of plant resistance, and was suppressed by AvrPto1, a type III-secreted effector of a plant pathogen that inhibits HR. Thus, type III-secreted effectors of a marine bacterium are capable of inducing the nonhost HR in a land plant it has never encountered before. This suggests that plants may have evolved to cope with a potential threat posed by alien pathogen effectors. Our work documents an exceptional case of nonhost HR and provides an expanded perspective for studying plant nonhost resistance.
This study analyzed the change of gas turbine performance with air temperature decrease by the evaporation cooling system in summer season. Gas turbine performance was tested on the condition that ambient temperature is $29{\pm}1^{\circ}C$. As a result, Air temperature at the compressor inlet was decreased by $4.12^{\circ}C$ after the installation of evaporation cooling system. Decreased air temperature followed by increased air density affected gas turbine performance, Which increased compressor pressure ratio by 0.27, improved compressor efficiency of 0.29 %p, improved gas turbine enthalpy drop efficiency of 0.31 %p, improved the gas turbine efficiency by 0.44 %p, improved electric power output by 4,489 kW. On the other side, the influence of the humidity increase and flow resistance increase was negligible.
