Characterisic Experiment of Tilting Check Valve for Nuclear Power Plant(II) (원자력 발전소용 Tilting Check Valve의 특성실험 (II))

  • In this study, testing equipment with which several kinds of valves can be tested was composed. Two kinds of tilting check valves and a swing check valve were tested to analyze their dynamic characteristics. The results of the experiment showed that the tilting check valves protected the pump but that the swing check valve could not protect the pump when the reverse flow rate was high. Also the dynamic equation of the tilting check valve was formulated and simulated using system characteristic constant t$_{c}$ and one method of predicting t$_{c}$ by comparing the results of the simulation with the results of the experiment was proposed.sed.

  • To determine the effects of microstructure on the fatigue crack propagation behavior in SM45C steel, experimental investigations have been carried out with the specimens of different grain sizes and different spacings between the Fe$_{3}$C particles. Fatigue and tensile tests were conducted and the quantitative analysis of the relations between the threshold stress intensity range and grain size, interparticle spacing and yield stress were carried out. Some of the conclusions obtained are as follows; (1) .DELTA.K$_{th}$ was observed to increase with grain size and the spacing between the Fe3C particles. (2) In both pearlite and spheroidite microstructures, .DELTA.K$_{th}$ was increased when yield stress was decreased.sed.

  • 본 논문에서는 지문인식 시스템에 있어서 중간 단계인 Reference Point를 검출하는 방법을 제안하려고 한다. Reference Point는 지문 인식 방법들인 Minutiae 매칭 방법[1]과 Gabor filter를 사용한 Filterbank 방법[2]을 적용함에 있어서 feature를 추출할 때 사용되는 기준이 되는 Point이다. 그래서 동일인에 대해서는 항상 불변하고 정확한 위치를 찾아내는 정도가 지문 인식 시스템의 인식률에 크게 영향을 미치게 된다. 본 논문에서 제안하는 방법은 Gray Image에서 직접 Statistical한 방법을 사용하여 지문의 방향 분포를 구하고 이러한 방향 분포도로부터 얻어진 정보를 바탕으로 각 방향간의 거리를 측정하여 모든 방향 성분을 동일하게 유지하는 Reference Region을 찾게 된다. 이렇게 추출된 Reference Region내에서 SED(Statistical Equi-Distance)를 최대로 하는 좌표값을 Reference Point로 결정하게 된다.

  • In case of field weakening region, torque is directly affected by flux. In this region, the flux reference is cIecreased inversely proportional to the rotor speed. As the flux is decreased, the magnetizing inductance is nonnally increased The increased magnetizing inductance limited voltage for controlling current In this paper, rreasuring q axis voltage in field weakening region, magnetizing inductance in flux calculating can be readjusted. Computer simulation and experiment results demostrate the efficacy of the prqx>sed rrethod. Proposed algorithm is expected to the application of the adjustable drive system in the spinning and weaving field. field.

Host galaxy of tidal disruption object, Swift J1644+57

  • We present long-term optical to NIR data of the tidal disruption object, Swift J1644+57. The data were obtained with CQUEAN, UKIRT WFCAM observations. We analyze the morphology of the host galaxy of this object and decompose the bulge component using high resolution HST WFC3 images. We conclude that the host galaxy is bulge dominant. We also estimate the multi-band fluxes of the host galaxy through the light curves based on the long-term observational data. We fit the SED models to the multi-band fluxes of the host galaxy and determine its stellar mass. Finally, we estimate the mass of the central super massive black hole which is thought to be the main role of the tidal disruption event. The estimated stellar mass and black hole mass are $10^{9.1}M_{\odot}$, $10^{6.8}M_{\odot}$ respectively. We compare our results to other results that have studied before.

Further Analysis of FLS 1718+59: A Galaxy-Galaxy Gravitational Lens

  • We present new analyses of FLS 1718+59, a galaxy-galaxy gravitational lens system in the Spitzer First Look Survey (FLS) Field. A background galaxy (z = 0.245) is severely distorted by a nearby elliptical galaxy (z = 0.08), which can be interpreted as a result of gravitational lensing. We analyze this system by multiple methods, including ELLIPSE fitting, gravitational lens modeling, and surface brightness fitting. From this analysis, we obtain parameters of the lens galaxy using varying approaches and compare them. In the future, we will conduct SED fitting for the lens galaxy and estimate the stellar mass, and compare this with the total mass of the lens to check the M-L relation.

  • 본 연구에서는 2002년 여름 전국을 강타한 태풍 '루사'에 의한 집중호우와 관련하여 충북 영동군 일원에 발생한 하천범람에 따른 침수피해에 대해 하천의 수위 상승과 하천변 제내지의 침수에 따른 수리특성을 분석하였다. 이를 위해 홍수유출량 산정에 HEC-HMS모형과 HEC-GeoHMS모형을 사용하였고, 외수위 변동을 해석하기 위해서 HEC-RAS를 이용하여 부정류 해석을 수행하였다. 또한 침수구역의 수리특성과 하상변동, 유사분포 모의를 위해 RMA2, SED2D 모형을 적용하였다. 그 결과 하천범람시 유속은 $2.6m/sec\~3.4m/sec$ 분포를 나타내었고, 하상변동의 경우 제방에 근접한 곳에서 제방 절개부와 가까운 지역은 $0.15m\~0.17m$정도 유사가 퇴적되는 것으로 분석되었다.

  • As part of a new riverside development project, various types of bridges and covering bridges were constructed in natural river estuary; and these structures got in the way of the flow of the river, which has resulted in a topographical change in natural river estuary, decrease in the gross sectional area of flow, and rise of water level. As a result, surrounding areas are suffering from damages due to overflowing of river over the bank. This study was designed to provide basic data for efficient design of structures, by examining resistance and characteristics in the surrounding areas of bridges based on changes in the span length ratio.

  • A simulation was done to analyze the seepage problems due to seawater intrusion through the embedded rock layers on heterogeneous layers of sea-dike. Numerical analysis with SAMTLE(developed by author) was done by taking various relative permeability $ratio(R_r/R_e)$. These results showed, when the sed-dike is newly designed, operated, and maintained considering the safety of sea-dike in seepage problems, these embankment materials are prudently chosen. The permeability of the soil materials, within the range of salinity management in freshwater, is comparatively high, however, the permeability of rock materials for bottom rock layer is low. Therefore, when the relative permeability $ratio(R_r/R_e)$ is bellow 10 it is safety in seepage problems of sea-dike.

  • A reaction mechanism of methane partial oxidation, which consists of thermal and plasma chemistry reaction pathways, has been investigated using with an arc-jet reactor. The reaction zone of the arc-jet reactor is spatially separated into thermal and non-thermal plasma zone. Methane conversion rates, selectivity of $H_2$ and $C_2$ chemicals in each zone are obtained, which reveals clearly different characteristics of reaction pathways depending on the temperature conditions. The conversion rates obtained in thermal plasma zone is higher than those in non-thermal plasma zone. The selectivity, however, obtained in non-thermal plasma zone is significantly higher than those in thermal plasma zone. Further parametric study on $O_2/C$ ratio, arc length and SED shows that the present process is mainly governed by thermal chemistry pathways.
