Reframing Design of the 10Gbps Optical Transmission System (10Gbps 광전송 장치의 리프레이밍을 위한 회로구현)

  • In this paper, a method of one line transmission of 622Mbps to interface a low speed part with a high speed part is introduced instead of H-BUS method of the 10 line transmission of 77.76Mbps in the 10Gbps optical transmission system. For this method, a reframing method to align the received data of 622Mbps transmission to STM(Synchronous Transfer Mode)-64 frame of SDH(Synchronous Digital Hierarchy) is described. Reframing is designed with VHDL and applied in the 10G-S4 ASIC of T14U board of 10Gbps optical transmission system.

  • SDH-based SHR networks are the reconfiguration process in case of failure and APS protocol used. In this study, addresses the maximum allowed recovery time in two fiber bidirectional networks. We analyse the APS protocol and derive the Processing time domains of each n order to cope with the maximum reconfiguration time of 50㎳, as specified in the ITU-T standard. We finally analyze the interleaved failures. One is the signal degrade then the signal failure, the other is the signal failure then the signal failure. Any case analysis is carried out. reconfiguration time can be guaranteed.

  • We propose an effective wavelength converter method using frequency shifter for photonic node, and examine the scalability of Generalized Multiprotocol Label Switching (GMPLS) networks. The ana1ysis is examined based on signal to noise ratio (SNR) for present 2.4 and 10 Gbit/s Synchronous Digital Hierarchy (SDH) networks, and next generation 2.7 and 10.8 Gbit/s Optical Transport Networks (OTN) format The proposed 100 channels GMPLS networks using optical frequency shifters are shown to be applicable to transmission network spanning over 1206 km(24 nodes) in 2.7 Gbit/s trunk networks. Transmission over more than 310 km (6 nodes) is also possible in 2.7 Gbit/s Metroporitan Area Networks(MAN).

  • 광전달망에서 전송용량의 폭발적인 수요 증가에 대처하기 위한 최적의 솔루션으로 파장분할다중화(WDM: wavelength division multiplexing) 방식이 도입되고 있으며, 그 적용 영역 또한 장거리 시외망, 단거리 시내망부터 인터넷 트래픽 전달용 백본망을 위한 핵심기술로 정착될 것으로 예측하고 있다. WDM 광전송 방식은 기존의 시분할 다중(TDM: time division multiplexing) 방식이 갖는 동기식(SDH: synchronous digital hierarchy) 전송기술의 한계를 보완할 수 있으며, 신호의 다중화 및 역다중화 구성체계가 단순하고, 입력 광신호에 대한 신호속도나 형태등의 제한도 없기 때문에, 기존의 동기식 전송에 비해 전송용량을 쉽게 확장할 수 있다는 장점을 가지고 있다.   • The important considerations in the design of fiber-optic networks are reliability and survivability preparing against a failure. The SDH(Synchronous Digital Hierarchy), the international standard of optical transmission, offers several network reconfiguration methods that enable network to be automatically restored from failure. One of the methods is the SHR(Self Healing Ring), which is a ring topology system. Most network providers have constructed their backbone networks with SHR architecture since it can provide survivability economically. The network architecture has eventually evolved into a multi-ring network comprised of interconnected rings. This paper addresses multi-ring network design problems is to minimize ring-construction cost. This problem can be formulated with MIP(mixed integer programming) model. However, it is difficult to solve the model within reasonable computing time on a large scale network because the model is NP-complete. Furthermore, in practice we should consider the problem of routing demands on rings to minimize total cost. This routing problem involves multiplex bundling at the intermediate nodes. A family of heuristic algorithms is presented for this problem. These algorithms include gateway selection and routing of inter-ring demands as well as load balancing on single rings. The developed heuristic algorithms are applied to some network provider's regional and long-distance transmission networks. We show an example of ring design and compare it with another ring topology design. Finally, we analysis the effect bundling.

Structural Design of Optical Access Network for IPOW Service (IPOW 서비스를 위한 광액세스망 구조 설계)

  • This paper presents a new idea of structural design of the optical access network for IPOW(IP over WDM) services. More efficient network can be constructed, because the IP packets are transmitted directly to the WDM without going through an intermediate layer of networks. The wavelength Routing is based on a label switching technology. The ability to transmission of high volume traffics and QoS capability of the optical label switching directly to the end user of the IPOW optical internet networks is provided. As in AON(Active Optical Network) flexible bandwidth on demand subscribers is allocated. By the Simulation of the proposed optical access networks to measure the BER(Bits Error Ratio) at the end of the nodes the network characteristics are analyzed. These results are based on the design of efficient optical network.
