A numerical simulation of selective catalytic reduction (SCR) for NO with $NH_3$ is conducted over the $V_2O_5/TiO_2$ and $WO_3-V_2O_5/TiO_2$ catalysts. The governing $NH_3$ and NO transport equations are considered by using the time-dependent FCT (Flux-Corrected Transport) algorithm. After a validating simulation for $NH_3$ step feed and shut-off experiments is analyzed, transient behavior of $NH_3$ and NO concentration in a SCR catalyst is investigated by changing such parameters as inflow $NH_3$ concentration, temperature of the catalyst, and $NH_3$/NOx ratios.
For a k-connected inverse system $({\scr{X}},\;*)=((X_{\lambda},\;*),p_{{\lambda}{{\lambda}}^{\prime}},\;{\Lambda})$ of pointed topological spaces and pointed preserving weak fibrations, inducting epimorphic chain maps, over a directed set, we show that the homotopy group ${\pi}_k(lim{\scr{X}},\;*)$ of the inverse limit is isomorphic to the integral homology group $$H_k(lim{\scr{X}};\mathbb{Z})$. Using the result of S. $Marde{\check{s}}i{\acute{c}}$, we prove that the group of pure extension $Pext(colimH^n({\scr{X}},\;A)$ is isomorphic to the group of extension $Ext({\Delta}({\lambda}),\;Hom(H^n({\scr{X}}),\;A))$.
Selective Catalytic Reduction(SCR) has been used for the reduction of $NO_x$ in a steam supply boiler. Recently, the reduction of $NO_x$ becomes an important research field because of its negative effect on an environment. Shape optimization of circular poles installed in the chamber, which is located in upstream of a SCR, has been performed using response surface method and three-dimensional Navier-Stokes analysis to enhance gas flow uniformity. Three design parameters, diameter, arranging angle and stretching ratio of circular poles, are considered in the present study. Throughout the shape optimization of a circular pole, gas flow uniformity is successfully increased by decreasing local recirculation flow in a square duct chamber. Recirculation flow observed in the corner of the square duct can be reduced by proper installation of a guide vane or a blunt body. Detailed flow characteristics are also analyzed and discussed.

The key issues for the reduction technologies of the exhaust gas from diesel engine being developed are to reduce particulate matters and NOx. Performance of NOx removal in SCR process depends on such various factors as catalyst factors(catalyst composition, shape, velocity, etc.), exhaust gas temperature and velocity distribution. In this study checked flow uniformity with the flow characteristics in the SCR reactor by using STAR CCM+. The pressure drop of experiment and simulation had similar result more than 90% at catalytic Cell. Also, flow uniformity calculated about 0.9036 ant 1st catalytic ind SCR reactor.
The SCR (selective catalytic reduction) system is highly-effective technique for NOx reduction from exhaust gases. In this study, the effects of the direction and size of nozzle and the ammonia injection concentration on the performance of SCR system are analyzed by using the computational fluid dynamics method. When the nozzle is arranged in zigzaged direction which is normal to exhausted gas flow, it is shown that the uniformity of gas flow and the NH3/NO molar ratio is improved remarkably. With the change of the ammonia injection concentration from 0.2 vol%(wet) to 1.0 vol%(wet), the uniformity of gas flow shows a good results. As the size of nozzle diameter changes from 6 mm to 12 mm, the uniformity of gas flow is maintained well. It is shown that the uniformity of the $NH_3/NO$ molar ratio becomes better with decreasing the ammonia injection concentration and the size of nozzle diameter.

To improve the flow and mixing characteristics of marine SCR system, two different mixer including up-down and swirl type mixer were considered. The purpose of this study is to analyse turbulence intensity and uniformity index in detail and to improve the performance of SCR with respect to the mixer structure. The results showed that, the concentration uniformity index is improved by about 5% with the utilization of both mixers in the front of catalyst part. Although the RMS value and relative turbulence intensity increased after the up-down type mixer, it could observed that the value of two parameters decreased with the flow proceeding forward to the downstream. For the case of swirl type mixer, the decrease of RMS value and relative turbulence intensity were relatively smaller than that of up-down type mixer, and uniform distribution of relative turbulence intensity was observed. As a results, it could be concluded that the mixing effects and the distance of the two kinds of mixer were different.

Hydrogen fuel cell propulsion ships are emerging to respond to the recently strengthened carbon emission regulations in the international shipping sector. Methanol can be stored in a liquid state at normal pressure and temperature, and has the advantage of lower reforming temperature compared to other fuels. In this study, the optimal operating point of the methanol steam reforming system was derived by changing the Steam Carbon Ratio (SCR) from 0.10 to 3.00. Results showed that In terms of methanol conversion rate and hydrogen yield, the larger the SCR is the better, but in terms of system efficiency, it is most advantageous to operate at SCR 0.70 in Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) mode and SCR 0.80 in Pd membrane mode. Through this study, it was found that the optimal SCR in the reformer and the entire system including the reformer may be different, which indicates that the optimum operating point may be different depending on the change of the system configuration.

Liquid urea based SCR has been used in the market to reduce NOx in the exhaust emission of the diesel engine vehicle. This system has several problems at low temperature, which are freezing below $-12^{\circ}C$, solid deposit formation in the exhaust, and difficulties in dosing system at exhaust temperature below $200^{\circ}C$. Also, it is required complicated exhaust packaging equipment and mixer due to supply uniform ammonia concentration. In order to solve these issues, solid urea, ammonium carbonate, and ammonium carbamate are selected as ammonia sources for the application of solid SCR. In this paper, basic research on reaction rate of three ammonia-transporting materials was performed. TGA (Thermogravimetric Analysis) and DTA (Differential Thermal Analysis) tests for these materials are carried out for various heating conditions. From the results, chemical kinetic parameters such as activation energy and frequency factor are obtained from the Arrhenius plot. Additionally, from test results of DSC (Differential Scanning Calorimeter) for these materials, chemical kinetic parameters using the Kissinger method are calculated. Activation energies of solid SCR from this experiment are compared with proper data of literature study, then obtained data of this experiment are used for the design of reactor and dosing system for candidate vehicle.
The performance of the ammonia injection gun (AIG) used for maximizing the utilization of reducing agent in the selective catalytic reduction (SCR) system is decided by several parameters such as the pattern of flow distribution, geometry of the air distribution manifold (ADM) and the array and geometry of nozzles. In the study, the uniformity of jet flows from the nozzles in AIG was analyzed statistically by using the computational fluid dynamics (CFD) method to evaluate the role of design parameters on the performance of the SCR system. The uniformity of jet flows from the nozzles is being deteriorated with increasing the supplying flow rate to the AIG. Distribution rates to each branch pipe become lower with decreasing distance to the header, and flow rates from nozzle are also reduced with decreasing distance to the header. The uniformity of jet flows from nozzles becomes stable significantly when the ratio of summative area of nozzles to each sectional area of the branch pipe is below 0.5.
The current emission regulations, US Tier-4 and EU Stage-V, are only able to satisfy the regulations when all currently mass-produced emission reduction technologies such as EGR, DOC, DPF, and SCR are applied. Therefore, in this study, for the application of the Urea-SCR system to non-road diesel engines, the database was established by measuring the NO, NO2 concentration and calculating the NO2/NOx ratio based on the catalyst temperature and exhaust mass flow rate. Also, based on the measured NO2/NOx ratio data, a mathematical model was proposed to predict the NO2/NOx ratio at SCR catalyst, and the suitability of the model was verified through steady-state and transient mode. As a result of comparing the NO2/NOx ratio measured at the DOC outlet under the steady-state condition to two model values separately, the R2 was 0.9811 for the 3D map model and 0.9303 for the mathematical model. And in the case of the NO2/NOx ratio measured at the DPF outlet, the R2 was 0.9797 for the 3D map model and 0.935 for the mathematical model. It was confirmed that the R2 with the model value of the 3D Map of the mathematical model in the transient mode is 0.957, which shows high reliability.
