  • Recently, a number of research efforts have been taken to enhance interoperability and reusability of e-learning contents by developing ADL SCORM 2004 compliant contents. For useful and effective learning contents, content devlopers have to build the strategy of content sequencing in the phase of instructional design. However, many developers have difficulties in understanding the complicated specification of SCORM 2004 S&N(Sequencing&Navigation) and implementing SCORM sequencing. In this paper, we develop SCORM 2004 based best-practice sample contents utilizing SCORM sequencing and thus present a reference guide to the design and implementation of SCORM 2004 contents. It is expected that our sample contents illustrate an effective and useful application of SCORM 2004 as a de-facto e-learning standard, domestically and also internationally.

  • In the area of e-learning education, SCORM2004 that is suggested by ADL and is a defacto standard allows to design and apply various interrelations among learning objects which organize learning process through consolidating IMS Simple Sequencing into S&N. In this paper, we intend to realize a web_based adaptive learning management that enable to guide experientially the learning activity through the SCORM 2004 S&N and the Traffic-Signal-Lamp Metaphor. This adaptive system allows professor to design the learning courseware realizing various learning strategies to be able to reuse same learning contents and student to be leaded a adaptive learning through being supplied immediately the state and evaluation of learning.

  • Although Sequencing & Navigation(S&N) of ADL SCORM 2004 specifies relatively simple ones of possible sequencing behaviors based on IMS SS(Simple Sequencing) in learning context, it is practically not easy to implement the sequencing properly within SCORM content packages. Actually, many Korean content developers construct SCORM content packages by choosing one out of well-known LSAL sequencing templates and just inserting their contents into it. In this paper, we survey a number of widely used SCORM sequencing templates provided by LSAL, ADL and Xerceo, and also domestic conventional SCORM sequencing models, and then present a new SCORM sequencing models well conformant to Korean e-learning environments. We finally develop 3 types of SCORM sequencing templates and their contents samples by applying our sequencing models to a number of available domestic SCOs. We expect that our products can be widely used and referenced as a guidance by content developers troubled in implementing a variety of SCORM sequencings.
