A shared-capacitor charge-sharing ROM (SCCS-ROM) using dummy bit lines is proposed. The SCCS-ROM reduces the bit line swing voltage using the charge-sharing technique of the conventional charge-sharing ROM (CS-ROM). Although the CS-ROM needs three small capacitors per output bit, the proposed SCCS-ROM shares the capacitors so that it needs only three capacitors. The SCCS-ROM implements the capacitors using dummy bit lines. This not only increases noise immunity but also reduces power. A SCCS-ROM with 8K${\times}$15bits implemented in a 0.35${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ CMOS process. The SCCS-ROM consumes 8.63㎽ at 100MHz with 3.3V The simulation results show that the SCCS-ROM reduces 8.4% power compared to the CS-ROM.
Objectives: This study aimed to investigate smoking relapse and the related factors within 1 year after discharge from the smoking cessation clinics (SCCs) of public health centers (PHCs). Methods: Data were collected with a structured questionnaire from 395 people who success fully stopped smoking at 4 SCCs in Busan between May and June 2009, and this data were analyzed by Kaplan-Meier survival curves and the Cox proportional hazard model. Results: The rate of smoking relapse within 1 year after discharge from SCCs was 39.2% and this decreased rapidly over 6 months after discharge. The factors related to smoking relapse within 1 year after discharge from SCCs were being female (HR, 2.11; 95% CI, 1.17 to 3.82), a trial of smoking cessation with any assistants (HR, 1.95; 95% CI, 1.19 to 3.19), more than 7 ppm of exhaled CO2 on the SCCs' registration (HR, 1.81; 95% CI, 1.24 to 2.64), use of pharmacotherapy after discharge from SCCs (HR, 2.00; 95% CI, 1.36 to 2.93), alcohol drinking more than once a week after discharge from SCCs (HR, 3.32; 95% CI, 2.15 to 6.78), and a perceived barrier (HR, 1.21; 95% CI, 1.14 to 1.30) after discharge from the SCCs. Conclusions: According to the results, at least 6 months follow-up after discharge from SCCs of public health centers is recommended to reduce the rate smoking relapse. It is also recommended to strengthen the education on how to overcome barriers such as drinking in the course of smoking cessation clinics.

Multichannel analysis of surface waves (MASW) method has exhibited broad application prospects in the nondestructive detection of interfacial debonding in steel-concrete composite structures (SCCS). However, due to the structural diversity of SCCS and the high stealthiness of interfacial debonding defects, the feasibility of MASW method needs to be investigated in depth. In this study, synthetic parametric study on MASW nondestructive debonding detection for SCCSs is performed. The aim is to quantitatively analyze influential factors with respect to structural composition of SCCS and MASW measurement mode. First, stress wave composition and propagation process in SCCS are studied utilizing 2D numerical simulation. For structural composition in SCCS, the thickness variation of steel plate, concrete core, and debonding defects are discussed. To determine the most appropriate sensor arrangement for MASW measurement, the effects of spacing and number of observation points, along with distances between excitation points, nearest boundary, as well as the first observation point, are analyzed individually. The influence of signal type and frequency of transient excitation on dispersion figures from forwarding analysis is studied to determine the most suitable excitation signal. The findings from this study can provide important theoretical guidance for MASW-based interfacial debonding detection for SCCS. Furthermore, they can be instrumental in optimizing both the sensor layout design and signal choice for experimental validation.

Somatic cell counts (SCCs) of goat milk can vary widely depending on the counting methods used and non-pathogenic factors; the goat milk industry can be threatened by establishment of a legal standard based on the findings in cow milk. In Korea, SCCs have been excluded from the items that are analyzed under the "Livestock Products Processing and Composition Standards" in accordance with a recent NVRQS Notice amendment. From April to October, SCCs of 150 goat milk samples from 2 farms were analyzed using a Somascope calibrated with standard goat milk samples. Average SCCs of the samples was 598,000/mL, and significant differences were not found between farms and between breeds. SCCs increased from 3 to 8 months after delivery.
Background: The role of $p16^{INK4A}$ expression in uterine cervix cancer is well established. In the remaining female lower genital tract cancers, the importance of $p16^{INK4A}$ up-regulation is less clear. In our study, we analyzed the role of $p16^{INK4A}$ expression and HPV infection in carcinomas of the vulva and the vagina in Tunisian women. Materials and Methods: We conducted a retrospective study of 30 carcinomas including 15 vulvar squamous cell carcinomas (SCCs) and 15 vaginal SCCs. Immunohistochemistry was used to determine $p16^{INK4A}$ expression. HPV detection and typing was by in situ hybridization. Results: $p16^{INK4A}$ expression was detected in 86.7% of vaginal SCCs with a strong and diffuse immunostaining in 60% of cases, and also in 73.3% of vulvar SCCs with focal immunoreactivity in 53.3% The association between $p16^{INK4A}$ expression and HPV infection was significant in vaginal SCCs (p=0.001) but not vulvar SCCs (p>0.05). Conclusions: $p16^{INK4A}$ expression could be used as a useful marker for HPV positivity in vaginal SCCs similar to that described in uterine cervix cancers. However, our data support the presence of 2 different mechanisms for $p16^{INK4A}$ expression in HPV-related and HPV-unrelated vulvar carcinomas.
Purpose: The aim of this study was to examine the validity and reliability of the Korean Version of the Spiritual Care Competence Scale (K-SCCS). Methods: A cross-sectional study design was used. The K-SCCS consisted of 26 questions to measure spiritual care competence of nurses. Participants, 228 nurses who had more than 3 years'experience as a nurse, completed the survey. Confirmatory factor analysis was used to examine the construct validity and correlations of K-SCCS and spiritual well-being (SWB) were used to examine the criterion validity of K-SCCS. Cronbach's alpha was used to test internal consistency. Results: The construct and the criterion-related validity of K-SCCS were supported as measures of spiritual care competence. Cronbach's alpha was .95. Factor loadings of the 26 questions ranged from .60 to .96. Construct validity of K-SCCS was verified by confirmatory factor analysis (RMSEA=.08, CFI=.90, NFI=.85). Criterion validity compared to the SWB showed significant correlation (r=.44, p<.001). Conclusion: The findings suggest that K-SCCS serves as an appropriate measure of spiritual care competence with validity and reliability. However, further study is needed to retest the verification of the factor analysis related to factor 2 (professionalisation and improving the quality of spiritual care) and factor 3 (personal support and patient counseling). Therefore, we recommend using the total score without distinguishing subscales.
A new modeling method for AC-AC switched capacitor converters (SCCs) is introduced in this study. The proposed analytical method aims to accurately describe the input-output characteristics of AC-AC SCCs and establish a mathematical model for static voltage conversion ratio and equivalent resistance, which are key performance metrics for SCCs. A quantitative analysis of converter regulation capability is addressed on the basis of the modeling method. In this analysis, the effects of the control parameters and individual components on SCCs are illustrated extensively. Component stresses, such as the peak value and transient variation of the voltage/current of the converter, are also presented. The effectiveness of the proposed method is verified by comparing it with the existing modeling method and applying it to an AC-AC SCC with a conversion ratio of three. Two 1 kW prototypes are built in a laboratory, and their experimental results exhibit good agreement with the theoretical analysis.

Over the past three decades, self-compacting concrete (SCC), which is characterized by its superior rheological properties, has been gradually used in construction industry. It is now recognized that the application of SCC using supplementary cementitious materials (SCM) is highly attractive and promising technology reducing the environmental impact of the construction industry and reducing the higher materials costs. This paper presents an experimental study that investigated the mechanical and durability properties of SCCs manufactured with blended binders including fly ash, slag, and micro-silica. A total of 8 batches of SCCs were manufactured. As series of tests were conducted to establish the rheological properties, compressive strength, and durability properties including the water absorption, water permeability, rapid chloride permeability and initial surface absorption of the SCCs. The influences of the SCC strength grade, blended types and content on the properties of the SCCs are investigated. Unified reactive indices are proposed based on the mix proportion and the chemical composition of the corresponding binders are used to assess the compressive strength and strength development of the SCCs. The results also indicate the differences in the underlying mechanisms to drive the durability properties of the SCC at the different strength grades.
In this investigation, Elman neural networks were utilized for predicting the mechanical properties of Self-Compacting Concretes (SCCs). Elman models were designed by using experimental data of many different concrete mixdesigns of various types of SCC that were collected from the literature. In order to investigate the effectiveness of the selected input variables on the network performance in predicting intended properties, utilized data in artificial neural networks were considered in two sets of 8 and 140 input variables. The obtained outcomes showed that not only can the developed Elman ANNs predict the mechanical properties of SCCs with high accuracy, but also for all of the desired outputs, networks with 140 inputs, compared to ones with 8, have a remarkable percent improvement in the obtained prediction results. The prediction accuracy can significantly be improved by using a more complete and accurate set of key factors affecting the desired outputs, as input variables, in the networks, which is leading to more similarity of the predicted results gained from networks to experimental results.
The self-controlled case series (SCCS) study measures the relative risk of exposure to exposure period by setting the non-exposure period of the patient as the control period without a separate control group. This method minimizes the bias that occurs when selecting a control group and is often used to measure the risk of adverse events after taking a drug. This study used SCCS to examine the increased risk of side effects when two or more drugs are used in combination. A conditional Poisson model is assumed and analyzed for drug interaction between the narcotic analgesic, tramadol and multi-frequency combination drugs. Bayesian inference is used to solve the overfitting problem of MLE and the normal or Laplace prior distributions are used to measure the sensitivity of the prior distribution.
