SANS Studies on the Formation of PANI Nanoparticles in the Reverse Micelles

  • The formation of polyaniline (PANI) in the reverse micelles of poly(oxyethylene) nonylphenyl ether, $(NP5, H(CH_2)_9Ph(OC_2H_4)_5OH)$, was investigated by small-angle neutron scattering (SANS). The reverse micellar solution containing initiators in the inner part of reverse micelle was prepared with surfactant (NP5), water, cyclohexane and an initiator (ammonium persulfate (APS)). The core-shell sphere model containing smearing effect reveals that the polymerization occurs on the shell layer of the reverse micelles. Shell thickness averages varied from 48 $\AA$ to 109 $\AA$ with increases of monomer concentration.

  • It is important to know SIze distribution of defects In electroplated trivalent chrome layers because it significantly influences on performance of the layers. Most of the nano-scale defects are able to be introduced by hydrogen evolution during the plating. Little information is available on the nano-size defects. In this study, SANS was applied to determine the size distribution of nano-scale defects in the trivalent chrome layers prepared in a formate bath. The defect size and distribution was dependent upon plating conditions such as current density and applied voltage. SANS is one of useful techniques to determine the nano-scale defect in the electroplated layers.

  • 본 논문에서는 작은 크기의 한글 디지털 글자디자인의 형태 개발을 위한 기초 연구를 제안한다. 이 제안은 모든 디지털 디바이스에서 사용하고 있는 작은 크기의 한글 디지털 글자디자인의 판독성(Legibility)과 가독성(Readability) 향상시킨다. 또한, 디지털 디바이스에서 작은 크기의 한글을 읽을 때 우리 눈의 피로도를 덜어주고 보기 편안한 글자디자인의 기본 방향을 제시한다. 본 논문에서는 제안하는 한글 디지털 폰트는 기존 구글 폰트인 Noto Sans Korean 디지털 폰트를 기반으로 작은 크기 한글 글자디자인을 제안하였다. 작은 크기의 글자디자인 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 기존 한글 디지털 폰트의 비례보다 첫째, 제안하는 글자의 비례가 넓어지고. 둘째, 글자의 획 두께가 두꺼워지며, 셋째, 글자 돌기의 크기가 증가하고, 넷째, 글자의 여백이 증가해야 한다.

A Study on the Characteristic of Logomark in Apparel Brand - Focused on Unisex Casual Brand - (의류 브랜드 로고마크의 특성에 관한 연구 - 유니섹스 캐주얼 브랜드를 중심으로 -)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the characteristic of logomark in unisex casual apparel brand. For this study, first 36 unisex casual apparel brands were selected from the Dictionary of Fashion Brand, second analyzed the common word showing in them. Third, the logomark of the unisex casual apparel brand were classified into two types according to the typeface character of the logomark, there were serif typeface, sans-serif typeface. Fourth, analyzed the relationship between the typeface image of logomark and brand concept. The results of the study were following : First, the common word that used the most frequently in brand concept were investigated and the order of common word was reasonable, comfort or natural, practical, modern, traditional and basic. Second, The unisex casual apparel brand used the most frequently the sans-serif typeface that represents the images of simple, modern and active sense in the typeface of logomark. Third, the unisex apparel brands used the most frequently English as brand name among the various languages. Fourth, the unisex casual apparel brands were lanuched mostly except several of them after 1990.

  • 수중구조물에 의한 파랑의 변형을 예측하기 위해 3차원 수치모형을 도입하여 수치모형 실험을 수행하였다. 본 수치모형은 Navier-Stokes 방정식을 유한차분법을 이용하여 계산하는 동수압 모형으로서, 난류의 해석을 위해서 상대적으로 큰 에디(eddy)만을 고려하는 SANS(Spatially Averaged Navier-Stokes) 방정식의 해를 구하는 LES(large-eddy-simulation) 기반의 수치모형이다. 엇갈림 격자체계에서 유한차분법을 사용하여 지배방정식을 해석하는 모형으로서 수치기법으로 Two Step projection 기법을 사용하여 SANS 방정식을 계산하였으며, Bi-CGSTAB 기법을 이용하여 Poisson 방정식의 해를 구하고 압력장을 계산하였다. 또한, 자유수면의 추적을 위하여 2차 정확도의 VOF(volume-of-fluid) 기법을 사용하였다. 먼저 선형파를 일정 수심상에서 조파시켜 해석해와 비교한 후 수중구조물이 설치된 지형에 적용하여 파랑의 변형을 수치모의하여 수리모형 실험 결과와 비교 및 분석하였다.

  • The size and number of nano-size defects of thin trivalent chrome layers were determined by small angle neutron scattering (SANS) without breaking the thin chrome layers. Most of defect size of the trivalent chromium prepared in this test conditions is in the range of about 40nm. The number of nano-size defects less than about 40nm of the trivalent chromium layer increases with plating voltage at constant current density From this study, SANS is proved as one of useful techniques to evaluate nano-size defects of thin film layer.

  • 본 연구는 타이포그래피 기술을 접목한 동영상과 기본 자동 자막을 사용한 동영상의 한글 자막 가독성을 비교·분석하여 모바일 동영상 시청 시 한글 자막의 가독성 개선을 위한 기초자료를 제공하는 데 목적이 있다. 연구의 목적을 위해 기본으로 설정되는 자동 자막을 사용한 동영상과 타이포그래피 기술을 적용·개선한 한글 폰트를 자막에 적용한 동영상을 비교하는 설문을 실시하였다. 시각디자인 전공자(73명)과 비전공자(52명)간의 자막 가독성 설문조사의 결과를 비교·분석하였다. 또한, 모바일을 통해 외국어 동영상 시청 시 자막 설정 기능에서 중요하게 여겨지는 요인과 현재 자막 설정 기능 중 불편하게 여기는 요인을 분석하였다. 수집된 설문의 자료는 Windows SPSS 26.0을 사용하여 분석하였다. 자막 설정 기능에서 중요하게 여겨지는 요인과 현재 자막 설정 기능의 불편 사항 등에 대한 인식의 차이를 살펴보기 위해 빈도분석, 𝑥2 검정, t 검정, 일원변량분석(one-way ANOVA) 등을 실시하였다.

Phase Behavior and Spontaneous Vesicle Formation in Aqueous Solutions of Anionic Ammonium Dodecyl Sulfate and Cationic Octadecyl Trimethyl Ammonium Chloride Surfactants

  • Phase behavior for the mixed aqueous surfactant systems of cationic octadecyl trimethyl ammonium chloride (OTAC)/anionic ammonium dodecyl sulfate (ADS)/water was examined. Below the total surfactant concentrations of 1.5 m molal, mixed micelles were formed. At the total surfactant concentrations higher than 1.5 m molal, there appeared a region where mixed micelles and vesicles coexist. As the surfactant concentration increased, the systems looked very turbid and much more vesicles were observed. The vesicles were spontaneously formed in this system and their existence was observed by negative-staining transmission electron microscopy (TEM), small-angle neutron scattering (SANS) and encapsulation efficiency of dye. The vesicle region was where the molar fraction α of ADS to the total mixed surfactant was from 0.1 to 0.7 and the total surfactant concentration was above 5 × 10-4 molality. The size and structure of the vesicles were determined from the TEM microphotographs and the SANS data. Their diameter ranged from 450 nm to 120μm and decreased with increasing total surfactant concentration. The lamellar thickness also decreased from 15 nm to 5 nm with increasing surfactant concentration and this may be responsible for the decrease in vesicle size with the surfactant concentration. The stability of vesicles was examined by UV spectroscopy and zeta potentiometry. The vesicles displayed long-term stability, as UV absorbance spectra remained unchanged over two months. The zeta potentials of the vesicles were large in magnitude (40-70 mV) and the observed longterm stability of the vesicles may be attributed to such high ζ potentials.
