Task Scheduling Algorithm in Multiprocessor System Using Genetic Algorithm (유전 알고리즘을 이용한 멀티프로세서 시스템에서의 태스크 스케쥴링 알고리즘)

  • The task scheduling in multiprocessor system is one of the key elements in the effective utilization of multiprocessor systems. The optimal assignment of tasks to multiprocessor is, in almost practical cases, an NP-hard problem. Consequently algorithms based on various modern heuristics have been proposed for practical reason. This paper proposes a new task scheduling algorithm using Genetic Algorithm which combines simulated annealing (GA+SA) in multiprocessor environment. In solution algorithms, the Genetic Algorithm (GA) and the simulated annealing (SA) are cooperatively used. In this method, the convergence of GA is improved by introducing the probability of SA as the criterion for acceptance of new trial solution. The objective of proposed scheduling algorithm is to minimize makespan. The effectiveness of the proposed algorithm is shown through simulation studies. In simulation studies, the result of proposed algorithm is better than that of any other algorithms.

  • Sequence-Pair(SP)는 플로어플랜을 표현하는 모델 중 하나로써, 일반적으로 SP 모델을 사용하는 플로 어프래너 (floorplanner)는 Simulated-Annealing (SA) 알고리즙을 통해 해 탐색 과정을 수행한다. SP 모델을 이용한 다양한 논문에서 플로어플랜 성능 향상을 위해 평가함수의 개선과 스케줄링 기법 향상을 모색하였으며, 평가함수의 경우 O(nlogn) 시간 알고리즘이 존재한다. 본 논문에서는 SP 모델을 이용한 SA 기법에서 SA의 해 탐색 과정 중 초기 해 탐색 시점에서 좋은 해를 빠르게 찾을 수 있는 방법을 제안한다. 제안 기법은 기존의 SA 프레임펙을 수정한 2단계 SA 알고리즘으로써 SP에 대응하는 배치를 압축하고 압축한 배치를 역변환하는 과정으로 구성된다. 실험과 결과를 통해 제안기법의 효과를 보이며, 평균적으로 동일한 SA 환경 하에서 제안기법이 최종결과 면에서 우수함을 보인다.

  • In this paper, the SA (Specific Absorption) distribution in a human head, exposed to wideband pulse EMF, has been analyzed by taking into account the dispersion characteristics of biological tissues. The dispersive properties of biological tissues are characterized by the 4th Cole-Cole model. Currently, there is no dispersive FDTD algorithm to implement the 4th Cole-Cole model accurately. Thus, in this paper the FDTD methods with the dispersive algorithm for the 1st-order Cole-Cole model and the 3rd-order Debye model were used for SA analysis. The validity of each model has been investigated first, and then the effects of dispersion on SA distribution have been studied.

  • A Metropolis genetic algorithm (MGA) is developed and applied for the structural design optimization. In MGA, favorable features of Metropolis criterion of simulated annealing (SA) are incorporated in the reproduction operations of simple genetic algorithm (SGA). This way, the MGA maintains the wide varieties of individuals and preserves the potential genetic information of early generations. Consequently, the proposed MGA alleviates the disadvantages of premature convergence to a local optimum in SGA and time consuming computation for the precise global optimum in SA. Performances and applicability of MGA are compared with those of conventional algorithms such as Holland's SGA, Krishnakumar's micro GA, and Kirkpatrick's SA. Typical numerical examples are used to evaluate the computational performances, the favorable features and applicability of MGA. The effects of population sizes and maximum generations are also evaluated for the performance reliability and robustness of MGA. From the theoretical evaluation and numerical experience, it is concluded that the proposed MGA Is a reliable and efficient tool for structural design optimization.

  • 본 논문은 클라이언트에서 서버로 파일을 전송할 때, 클라이언트가 보내고자 하는 파일이 서버에 동일한 파일로 있다면 업로드를 받지 않고, 서버의 파일을 재사용함으로써 트래픽을 감소시킬 수 있을뿐더러, 스토리지 용량 또한 절약할 수 있는 시스템 설계이다. 본 논문에서 제안하는 해쉬(Hash) 함수 SA를 사용하여 파일에 해쉬 코드를 생성함으로써 다른 해쉬 함수 보다 키 값의 길이가 길어지고 빠른 속도로 해쉬 값을 얻을 수가 있다. SA Hash Algorithm을 통해 얻어진 해쉬 값을 서버로 전송하여 서버에 동일한 파일이 있다면 클라이언트에서 파일을 전송 받지 않고, 서버 내부의 파일을 사용하는 것으로 자원 절감 효과를 낼 수 있다. 서버에서의 파일 관리도 기존의 날짜, 아이디 등 구별 방식이 아닌 SA Hash Algorithm으로 생성된 해쉬 값으로 파일을 관리 할 수 있음으로 파일 관리의 편의성뿐만이 아니라 빠른 속도로 파일을 접근할 수 있다.

  • This paper describes the basic principles of 3D broadcast system and proposes new 3D broadcast technology that reduces the amount of data by applying CS(Compressed Sensing). Differences between Sampling theory and the CS technology concept were described. Recently proposed CS algorithm AMP(Approximate Message Passing) and CoSaMP(Compressive Sampling Matched Pursuit) were described. This paper compared an accuracy between two algorithms and a calculation time that image data compressed and restored by these algorithms. As result determines a low complexity algorithm for 3D broadcast system.

However, these algorithms have only one objective such as minimizing cost and makespan. This paper proposes a new task scheduling algorithm using Genetic Algorithm combined simulated annealing (GA+SA) on multiprocessor environment.   • 스카이라인 질의는 사용자의 선호도를 고려하여 무수히 많은 데이터로부터 사용자에게 유용한 정보만을 반환한다. 스카이라인을 효율적으로 계산하기 위한 많은 방법들이 연구 되었지만, 그 중에서도 스카이라인질의 기능이 제공되지 않는 일반적인 데이터베이스로부터 스카이라인을 계산할 수 있는 최적의 알고리즘인 Sort and Limit Skyline Algorithm(SaLSa)이 있다. SaLSa는 정렬된 데이터와 정지점의 활용으로 전체 데이터 중 일부만 읽으며 스카이라인을 구할 수 있다. 정지점을 중간에 계산하는 SaLSa는 정지점의 기능을 충분히 활용하지 못한다. 본 논문에서는 정지점을 미리 계산하여 정지점의 제거기능을 최대화시킨 효율적인 스카이라인 알고리즘 Skyline with Transformation(SWT)을 제안하고, 실험을 통해 SWT가 SaLSa에 비해 데이터 제거 효과 및 스카이라인 질의 처리 속도가 우수함을 검증한다.

  • Global routing is to assign each net to routing regions to accomplish the required interconnections. The most popular algorithms for global routing inlcude maze routing algorithm, line-probe algorithm, shortest path based algorithm, and Steiner tree based algorithm. In this paper we propose weighted network heuristic(WNH) as a minimal Steiner tree search method in a routing graph and a genetic algorithm based on WNH for the global routing. We compare the genetic algorithm(GA) with simulated annealing(SA) by analyzing the results of each implementation.
