PMS 처리한 미성숙 쥐의 腦下垂體 排卵호르몬에 미치는 卵巢스테로이드의 影響 (The Role of Ovarian Steroids on Pituitary Ovulating Hormone in PMS-treated Immature Female Rats)

  • 본인은 생후 24일 된 쥐에 PMS와 더불어 estradiol을 처리하면 排卵이 예정보다 24시간 앞당겨 일어남을 보고한 바 있다. 본 실험은 이의 계속 연구로 腦下垂體前葉에서 분비되는 preovulatory LH surge가 PMS 처리 후 51$\\sim$56시간에 일어남을 보았다. 그러나 estradiol을 PMS와 동시에 처리하면 예정보다 24시간 단축된다. 卵巢를 제거한 쥐에 0, 24, 48시간에 $2.5\\sim 40\\mu g$의 estradiol을 처리하면 51$\\sim$56시간에 腦下垂體의 LH가 증가되지 않는다. 그러나 estradiol을 처리하고 이어 48시간에 1mg의 progesterone을 처리하면 卵巢를 제거한 쥐에서도 腦下垂體의 LH level은 증가된다. 본 실험의 결과로 estradiol처리가 PMS로 유도한 排卵을 24시간 앞당기는 사실은 estrogen이 progesterone과 길항작용으로 腦下垂體에서 LH분비를 24시간 앞당겨 일으키고, 따라서 排卵도 24시간 단축되는 것이라고 생각된다.

합천호의 어류상과 어류 군집구조 (Ichthyofauna and Structure of the Fish Community in Hapcheon Lake on the Hwang River)

  • 본 연구는 2004년 5월부터 2005년 2월까지 합천호를 중심으로 댐 내부에서 4곳, 댐 상 하류 하천에서 각각 1곳씩 모두 6개 지점을 중심으로 어류상을 조사 분석하였다. 그 결과 모두 12과 31속 36종으로 확인되었다. 본 조사 기간동안에 출현한 어류 가운데 우점종으로는 H. eigenmanni로 전체 어류의 28.4%의 출현률을 나타내었고, 아우점종으로는 H. labeo가 24.1%였다. 또한 출현한 어류 중 생산량이 가장 높은 어종은 H. labeo로서 전체의 36.5%의 비중을 차지하였고, 다음으로는 H. eigenmanni 22.3%, C. carpio 7.5%, H. nipponensis 6.9%의 순이었다. 합천댐 일대에서 종별 출현빈도가 가장 높은 분류군은 Cyprinidae 어류가 24종으로 전체의 66.7%였고, 그 다음으로는 Cobitidae와 Centropomidae가 각각 2종씩이고, 나머지는 1종씩이었다. 본 조사 구역에서 출현하는 우리나라의 특산어종은 모두 10종, A. koreensis, C. splendidus, S. gracilis majimae, S. chankaensis tsuchigae, M. yaluensis, H. eigenmanni, N. multifasciata, L. mediadiposalis, C. herzi, O. platycephala 등이며, 이 중 H. eigenmanni와 C. herzi는 출현 개체수가 많았으나, 그 외의 종은 비교적 희소하였다. 본 합천댐에서 출현하는 어류 중에서 외래어종은 C. carpio (Israeli), C. cuvieri, L. macrochirus이었고, 우리나라의 다른 하천에서 유입된 P. fulviraco가 확인되었다.

Er:YAG 레이저 조사가 S. mutans의 성장 및 산 생성능에 미치는 영향 (INHIBITORY EFFECTS OF ER:YAG LASER ON THE GROWTH AND ACID PRODUCING ABILITY OF STREPTOCOCCUS MUTANS)

  • 치아우식증은 산에 의해 법랑질이 탈회되는 현상으로 소아 및 청소년기에 가장 흔히 발생하는 구강질환 중의 하나로서, 치아우식증의 원인요소 중 다른 인자들보다 객관적으로 조사할 수 있는 구강내 세균에 대한 연구가 활발히 이루어져 왔다. 이 연구는 구강내의 치태라는 고체상태의 조건과 유사한 상태로 Er:YAG 레이저가 구강내 산 생성세균인 S. mutans의 증식에 미치는 영향 및 레이저의 조사시간에 따른 차이를 평가하고자 하였다. Er:YAG 레이저의 구강내 산 생성 세균인 S. mutans에 대한 증식억제효과를 평가하기 위하여 S. mutans pellet에 Er:YAG 레이저를 비접촉식 방법으로, 50mJ, 10Hz, 그리고 조사시간을 1초, 3초, 5초, 7초, 9초로 달리하여 조사하고 이때의 세균의 성장률과 산 생성능을 0, 2, 4, 8, 12, 24, 36, 48시간 동안 측정한 결과 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. 1. 레이저를 조사한 군이 레이저를 조사하지 않은 대조군에 비해 세균의 성장률이 감소되었다(P<0.01). 2. 레이저를 조사한 후 12시간까지 1, 3, 5초 조사군에 비해 7, 9초 조사군에서 세균의 성장율이 유의하게 감소되었으나(P<0.05), 24시간 후부터는 서로 유의할만한 차이를 보이지 않았다. 3. 레이저를 조사한 시간이 증가함에 따라 세균의 산 생성능력이 회복되는 시간이 길어짐이 관찰되었고 24시간 후에는 대조군과 차이를 보이지 않음으로써 일정 시간 이후에는 점차적으로 산 생성능력이 회복됨을 알 수 있었다.

바닥면복사난방에서 Draft에 의한 쾌적열환경에 관한 연구 (A study on the comfort thermal environment by the Draft in floor panel heating system)

  • This study was to estimate how about various effects on the body thermal sensation as air velocity. clo. mean radiant temperature and resultant temperature are varied. The indoor thermal environment elements are measured under the five different of air velocity. Using the above considerations. the following results are obtained. ▶ The states, the air velocity under 0.5 m/s and 0.63 to 0.9 clo. were shown that the comfort zone of mean radiant temperature by 21.2~24.7C, the neutral point by 22.8C, the resultant temperature by 20.7-24.4C and the neutral point by 22.6C. ▶ On equal condition, the draft was occurred at a given air-velocity under 0.5m.s. It was also appeared the floor panel heating system affecting the body thermal sensation by the subject’s below-chest parts and the local discomfort by sensations on the feet and the knees.

Streamer Motives and User-Generated Content on Social Live-Streaming Services

  • Three most popular information services, Periscope, Ustream, and YouNow, vicarious for all Social Live-Streaming Services (SLSSs), are investigated to analyze their streamers' motivations and the user-generated content. Additionally, we collected demographic data (gender and age). More than 7,500 streams by users from the U.S., Germany, and Japan were observed. Main streamer motivations on SLSSs are boredom, socializing, the need to reach a specific group, the need to communicate, and fun. Important content categories on all three SLSSs are chatting, sharing information, 24/7, and 'slice of life.' We were able to identify differences between users from the U.S., Germany, and Japan as well as between the users of Periscope, Ustream, and YouNow. The main motive to stream in the U.S. is to reach a specific group, while in Japan it is socializing, and in Germany boredom. The top content category for both, YouNow as well as Periscope, is to chat; on Ustream it is 24/7 (i.e., webcams).

Comparison of Volatile Aroma Components from Saussurea lappa C.B. Clarke Root Oils

  • The volatile flavor components were isolated from the roots of Saussurea lappa C.B. Clarke produced in Korea and China by the hydro distillation, and were analyzed by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC/MS). 63 aroma compounds representing 87.47% of the total peak area were tentatively identified, including 13 alcohols (22.56%), 26 hydrocarbons (21.78%), 4 aldehydes (21.24%), 11 ketones (18.04%), 1 oxide (0.52%), 3 esters (0.16%), 1 carboxylic acid (0.02%) and 4 miscellaneous components (3.15%). 46 volatile flavor components of imported S. lappa C.B. Clarke constituted 65.69% of the total volatile composition were tentatively characterized, consisting of 1 aldehyde (23.32%), 24 hydrocarbons (16.69%), 10 ketones (15.84%), 7 alcohols (8.92%), 1 oxide (0.83%), 2 esters (0.07%) and 1 acid (0.02%). The predominant components of both essential oils were (7Z,10Z,13Z)-7,10,13-hexadecatrienal and dehydrocostuslactone.

Cysteine 및 Glutathione이 사람정자의 운동성지수와 정자형태에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Cysteine and Glutathione on Motility Index and Morphology in Human Spermatozoa)

  • This experiment was conducted to investigate the effect of the cysteine and glutathione on the motility index and morphology of human spermatozoa at the sperm processing in vitro. After treating the sperm with medium containing cysteine and glutathione, we measured the motility index and morphology at 0.5 h and 24 h. 1. Following the sperm culture for 0.5 h after treating the sperm with the medium containing 0, 1, 5, 10 mM cysteine, curvilinear velocity (VCL) was significantly (p<0.05) higher in control than that in all treatments. And straight-line velocity (VSL) was high at 1 mM and average path velocity (VAP) was low at 5 mM and 10 mM. But the motility (MOT) and morphology (NOM) were not different between control and all treatments. Following the sperm culture for 24 h, the MOT was significantly high in treatment groups (58.9, 74.4 and 62.3%), compared with that in control(28.7%) and the VCL was also high in treatment groups (31.4, 37.9, and 34.0 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$/s), compared with that in control (21.3 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$/s). The VSL (18.4, 21.7, and 18.9 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$/s) was significantly higher than control (10.7 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$/s) and the VAP (20.3, 24.7, and 21.4 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$/s) in treatments was also compared with that in control (12.6 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$/s). The NOM was not difference between control and treatments. 2 Following the sperm culture for 0.5 after treating the sperm with the medium containing 0, 1, 5, 10 mM glutathione, the MOT, VCL, VSL, VAP, and NOM were not different between control and treatments. Following the sperm culture for 24 h, the MOT was higher in treatment groups (82.9, 83.6, 83.4%) than in control (51.1%) and the VCL was higher in treatment groups (50.9, 51.3, and 49.4 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$/s) than control (34.1 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$/s). The VSL was also higher in treatment (17.1 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$/s) and the VAP was also higher in treatment groups (30.1, 32.5, and 29.7 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$/s) than in control (19.8 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$/s). The NOM was not different between control and treatments.

The Role of Combined Multichannel Intraluminal Impedance-pH Monitoring in Infants with Brief, Resolved, Unexplained Events

  • Purpose: Data on the relationship between gastroesophageal reflux (GER) and brief resolved unexplained events (BRUE) in infants is scarce. The aim of this study was to identify the characteristics of combined multichannel intraluminal impedance-pH (MII-pH) monitoring in infants who have experienced BRUE. Methods: We conducted a prospective study of infants who were hospitalized on account of BRUE and required 24-hour MII-pH monitoring. Results: Twenty-one infants (mean age, 4.7 months; range, 0.9-8.9 months; male/female, 11/10) participated in this study. BRUE symptoms associated with GER were found in 10 infants (47.6%). Based on the RI on pH-metry alone, only 7 (33.3%) infants were diagnosed with GERD. More than 100 GER episodes detected by MII were found in 10 (47.6%) infants. Nineteen percent of infants were diagnosed with GERD based on both pH and MII. Conclusion: Both acid and non-acid reflux seem to play a significant role in the pathogenesis of GER-related BRUE in infants.
