Background: In a smart device, the introduction of tangible interaction that can provide new experience to user plays an important role for improving user's emotional satisfaction. Firstly, user's motion patterns have to be identified to provide an interaction type using user's gesture or motion. Method: In this study, a method to identify motion patterns using a motion capture system and user's motion patterns for using cellular phone was studied. Twenty-two subjects participated in this study. User's motion patterns were identified through motion analysis. Results: Typical motion patterns for shaking, shaking left and right, shaking up and down, and turning for using cellular phone were identified. Velocity and acceleration for each typical motion pattern were identified, too. Conclusion: A motion capture system could be effectively used to identify user's motion patterns for using cellular phone. Application: Typical motion patterns can be used to develop a tangible user interface for handheld device such as smart phone and a method to identify motion patterns using motion analysis can be applied in motion patterns identification of smart device.

  • The smart factory has spread to small and mid-size enterprises (SMEs) under the leadership of the government. Smart factory consists of a work area, an operation management area, and an industrial control system (ICS) area. However, each site is combined with the IT system for reasons such as the convenience of work. As a result, various breaches could occur due to the weakness of the IT system. This study seeks to discover the items and vulnerabilities that SMEs who have difficulties in information security due to technology limitations, human resources, and budget should first diagnose and check. First, to compare the existing domestic and foreign smart factory vulnerability classification systems and improve the current classification system, the latest smart factory vulnerability information is collected from NVD, CISA, and OWASP. Then, significant keywords are extracted from pre-processing, co-occurrence network analysis is performed, and the relationship between each keyword and vulnerability is discovered. Finally, the improvement points of the classification system are derived by mapping it to the existing classification system. Therefore, configuration and maintenance, communication and network, and software development were the items to be diagnosed and checked first, and vulnerabilities were denial of service (DoS), lack of integrity checking for communications, inadequate authentication, privileges, and access control in software in descending order of importance.

  • An outrigger system is used widely to increase the lateral stiffness of high-rise buildings, resulting in reduced dynamic responses to seismic or wind loads. Because the dynamic characteristics of earthquake or wind loads are quite different, a smart vibration control system associated with an outrigger system can be used effectively for both seismic and wind excitation. In this study, an adaptive smart structural control system based on an outrigger damper system was investigated for the response reduction of multi-hazards, including seismic and wind loads. A MR damper was employed to develop the smart outrigger damper system. Three cities in the U.S., L.A., Charleston, and Anchorage, were used to generate multi-hazard earthquake and wind loads. Parametric studies on the MR damper capacity were performed to investigate the optimal design of the smart outrigger damper system. A smart control algorithm was developed using a fuzzy controller optimized by a genetic algorithm. The analytical results showed that an adaptive smart structural control system based on an outrigger damper system can provide good control performance for multi-hazards of earthquake and wind loads.

  • For a library to be able provide information services and fulfill its function as a knowledge convergence center capable of responding to various information demands, the development of next-generation information systems based on the latest information and communication technology is needed. The development of mobile information services using portable devices such smart phones and tablet PCs and information systems which incorporate the concepts of cloud computing, SaaS (Software as a Service), annotation and Library2.0 is also required. This paper describes a library information system that utilizes collective intelligence and cloud computing. The information system developed for this study adopts the SaaS-based cloud computing service concept to cope with the shift in the mobile service paradigm in libraries and the explosion of electronic data. The strengths of such a conceptual model include the sharing of resources, support of multi-tenants, and the configuration and support of metadata. The user services are provided in the form of software on-demand. To test the performance of the developed system, the efficiency analysis and TTA certification test were conducted. The results of performance tests, It is encouraging that, at least up to 100MB, the job time is approximately linear and with only a moderate overhead of less than one second. The system also passed the level-3 or higher criteria in the certification test, which includes the SaaS maturity, performance and application program functions.

  • Smart contract, one of the applications of blockchain, is expected to be used in various industries. However, there is risks of damages caused by attacks on vulnerabilities in smart contract codes. Tool support is essential to detect vulnerabilities, and as new vulnerabilities emerge and smart contract implementation languages increase, the tools must have extensibility for them. We propose a design model for extensible architecture of smart contract vulnerability detection tools that detect vulnerabilities in smart contract source codes. The proposed model is composed of design pattern-based structures that provides extensibility to easily support extension of detecting modules for new vulnerabilities and other implementation languages of smart contract. In the model, detecting modules are composed of independent module, so modifying or adding of module do not affect other modules and the system structure.

Using wireless communication technology, calculation more accurate location information and service location information to the H/W and S/W has been developed. Receivers, repeaters, smart tag(location device), was developed for implement a location estimation system. The smart tag is built the 120~130KHz, 13~14MHz, 2.0~3.0GHz radio frequency tag. Receiver and repeater is applied to the tag module to recognize the location device's active RFID tags transmit a wireless signal for tag identification. Common Entrance control system in contact with a smart tag, It was implemented to transfer the value of the tag to the access control server over a LAN.

  • The smart grid with distributed power supply introduces a number of problems including not only the problems of the existing power grid but also the problem of protection co-operation due to new electric phenomenon because it has a mixed operation structure combining the existing radial operation structure and the new loop operation structure. The EMTP based power system analysis method has flexibility and convenience from the view of system configuration but it requires another experimental verification because of uncertainty of design and analysis results. On the other hand, the real demonstration system has difficulties in observing accurate fault on large scale system due to considerable economical and spatial construction cost, system configuration constraint, and it is difficult to demonstrate the distributed, autonomous and adaptive control strategy of smart grid. In this paper, a basic theory for a micro smart grid simulator design using MEMS(Micro Electro-Mechanical Systems) miniaturization technology is studied which can safely and freely experiment and observe electrical phenomena, and distribution, autonomous adaptive control strategy for disturbances on 22.9kV smart grid under minimum economic and spatial cost.
