  • This study has been carried out to develop a thermo-diode system capable of adjusting heat flow direction, solar absorptivity and thermal capacity. What we call "Smart Module" here has emerged from a series of repeated processes involving design, construction and test. In all, it is found that liquid thermo-diode systems are viable in harnessing the sun's energy. The module can be applied for space heating in winter and reduce the cooling load of buildings in summer.

  • The development of mobile communication technology is transforming the market of mobile communication devices, which is used to be merely for simple communication, into the one which offers features of personal digital assistant (PDA), fax communication and Internet access. Unlike a mobile phone which comes out as a complete package and whose functions cannot be changed, a smart phone can be upgraded by its user, adding or removing apps as he pleases. OS's of smart phones are iOS-based Apple, Google Android, Window Mobile, and others. Due to its convenience and powerful features, many people use smart phones its high price. On the other hand, consumer complaints are rising on poor A/S for occasional malfunction. This study analyzes how A/S cases can be classified into groups according to quality factors. We evaluate factors such as consumer impression and consumer satisfaction. By dual quality evaluation using KANO method, we would like to show the different A/S strategy for smart phones, compared with mobile phones.

Development of Smart Tape Attachment Robot in the Cold Rolled Coil with 3D Non-Contact Recognition (3D 비접촉 인식을 이용한 냉연코일 테이프부착 로봇 개발)

  • Recently taping robot with smart recognition function have been studied in the coil manufacturing field. Due to the difficulty of 3D surface processing from the complicated working environment, it is not easy to accomplish smart tape attachment motion with non-contact sensor. To solve these problems the applicable surface recognition algorithm and a flexible sensing device has been recommended. In this research, the fusion method between 1D displacement and 3D laser scanner is applied for robust tape attachment about cold rolled coil. With these sensors we develop a two-step exploration and the smart algorithm for the awareness of non-aligned coil's information. In the proposed robot system for tape attachment, the problem is reduced to coil's radius searching with laser displacement sensor at first, and then position and orientation detection with 3D laser scanner. To get the movement at the robot's base frame, the hand-eye compensation between robot's end effector and sensing device should be also carried out respectively. In this paper, we examine the auto-coordinate transformation method in the calibration step for the real environment usage. From the experimental results, it was shown that the taping motion of robot had a robust under the non-aligned cold rolled coil.

  • Due to changes in the energy environment, it's very popular to introduce the solar energy at home. More effective energy management is achieved together with an energy storage system(ESS). The electricity generated by solar can be used effectively to achieve the peak cut and price reduction. In this paper, we developed Smart Energy Profile(SEP) to make an ESS as a component of home energy management system(HEMS) cooperating with home network. First, we defined the functions equipped on the ESS and then developed a standard-based protocol to achieve compatibility between products. Our main contribution is to establish the foundation to introduce the HEMS at home.

The Impact of the Quality Factor of Smart Factory on the Intention to accept Advance Smart Factor: Mediating Effect of Perceived Value and Smart Factory Performance (스마트 팩토리 품질요인이 스마트 팩토리 고도화 의도에 미치는 영향: 지각된 가치 및 스마트 팩토리 성과의 매개효과)

  • This study examined the impact of smart factory's quality factors on the intention to accept Advance Smart Factory(ASF) by mediating Perceived Value(PV) and Smart Factor Performance(SFP) of domestic SMEs that had introduced smart factor. As a result, First, Information Quality(IQ) and Service Quality(SQ) had a significant positive impact on Perceived Value(PV). Second, System Quality(SysQ), IQ, and SQ had a significant positive impact on SFP. Third, PV had a significant positive impact on intention to ASF, and PV and SFP had a significant positive impact on the intention to accept ASP. Also, PV had a mediating effect between SysQ, IS and Perfromance, and PV and Performance had a moderation between SQ and ASF. These results could provide one implication to SMEs that are taking into account to improve their smart factor to be advanced.

  • In this paper, we introduce a smart care surveillance system which can support various CCTV cameras. In order to monitor an emergency requester in case of emergency, the server performs automatical CCTV Pan, Tilt, and Zoom control based on the location coordinates of the emergency requester. Also, a server finds and tracks the emergency requester using image processing and the updated location information. We implement a smart care surveillance system using the Genetec SDK tool to support various CCTV cameras. The efficiency of the rescue operation with the smart care surveillance system can be improved because rescuer can quickly control and monitor the requester's CCTV images.

  • 최근 차량용 블랙박스, 자동 운전 시스템, 어라운드 뷰 시스템 등과 같은 운전자의 편의와 안전을 위한 장치 및 시스템들이 개발되고 있다. 현재 운전자를 위한 보조 시스템으로 구글(google)의 자동 운전 시스템(Auto Car Driving System)과 현대 모비스(hyundai mobis)의 AVM 시스템(Around View Monitoring System) 등의 다양한 차량용 편의장치 시스템들이 등장했다. 위와 같은 다양한 ECU들을 관리하기 위한 서버 및 저장 장치 역할을 할 수 있는 고사양의 Car PC의 장착이 필수적이다. 기존의 AVM 시스템은 차량 주변을 실시간으로 제공하기 위해 임베디드 또는 별도의 차량용 네트워크를 통해 임베디드 시스템 또는 SoC(System On Chip)형태의 하드웨어 기반으로 개발되고 있다. 하지만 고사양의 Car PC 기반에서는 별도의 비용없이 소프트웨어로 구현이 가능하다. 본 논문에서는 차량의 전 후 좌 우에 장착된 4대의 카메라로부터 입력된 차량 주변 상황을 한눈에 보여주는 AVM 시스템(Around-View Monitoring System)을 위한 카메라 보정 및 정합 처리 모듈 및 AVM 시스템을 Windows를 O/S로 하는 PC 내부에서 기존의 AVM 시스템을 이용하여 화면에 전 후 좌 우 버튼을 각각 만들어 버튼을 터치했을 때, 각 버튼에 해당되는 영상이 AVM 시스템과 함께 출력되도록 하거나 디스플레이에 Full 버전으로 출력되도록 S-UI(Smart User Interface)를 설계 및 구현한다. 제안하는 AVM 시스템과 기존의 AVM 시스템의 성능과 기능을 비교 분석함으로써 제안하는 영상 처리 모듈을 이용하여 추가 비용이 발생하지 않는 AVM 시스템의 구현 가능성을 검증한다.

  • The government has invested much budget for 5years to do the Smart-education and operate digital textbook services since 2011. The private enterprises also decided to focus on constructing Smart learning system by investing much budget. If these systems are constructed nationwide and therefore can access to cyber university by using smart devices, we can reduce the information gap and study online lectures to get a grade whenever, whoever and wherever we want to. However, these convenient systems can cause serious problems like falsifying grades by hacking if security systems are weak. In this paper, we formulated cyber university which is secured in terms of security. For this, we simulated the smart-learning system which strengthened the security, considering code algorithm and encryption technique.

  • OPC UA(IEC62541) is a communication protocol for SG(Smart Grid) application platform. It was standardized by IEC TC57 group in December 2012. The IEC61850 has been used in Digital Substation Systems and Smart Distributed Systems. The DNP3.0 has been used for device's data collection/control in Distributed Systems. The DLMS/COSEM has been used to control metering and collect information in the Smart Metering. The top-level SG management platform needs an independent middleware to manage transparently the Power Information Technology, including the IEC61850, DNP3.0, DLMS/COSEM. In this paper, we propose the SDG(Scada Data Gateway) platform. It manages Power Information Technology based Digital Substation Systems and Smart Distributed systems, Smart Metering through OPC UA.

  • In this paper, we present a switched beamforming RFID reader and propose a convenient shopping system using it. The smart gate with the switched beamforming RFID reader(s) improves tag detection probability, tag false alarm probability, automatic detection functionality of shopping system compared to existing RFID based systems. The proposed system consists of a smart gate to read and verify the tags within cart, a check-out counter to approve customer purchase, and a central server to manage inventory & delivery and to analyze customer purchase trend. The proposed shopping system is more practical, convenient, and cost-effective to A/S than existing RFID shopping systems.
