Thermal Conductivity Analysis of Amorphous Silicon Formed by Natural Cooling: A Molecular-dynamics Study

  • To investigate the thermal conductivity and the structural properties of naturally cooled excimer-laser annealed Si, molecular-dynamics (MD) simulations have been performed. The thermal conductivity of crystalline Si (c-Si) was measured by direct method at 1000 K. Steady-state heat flow was measured using a stationary temperature profile; significant deviations from Fourier's law were not observed. Reliable processes for measuring the thermal conductivity of c-Si were presented. A natural cooling process to admit heat flow from molten Si (l-Si) to c-Si was performed using an MD cell with a size of $48.9{\times}48.9{\times}97.8{\AA}^3$. During the cooling process, the temperature of the bottom $10{\AA}$ of the MD cell was controlled at 300 K. The results suggest that the natural cooling system described the static structural property of amorphous Si (a-Si) well.

  • Nano size 몰드의 제작은 X-ray lithography 방법을 이용하여 몰드를 제작하고, micro size의 경우 Deep UV lithography 방법을 이용하여 몰드를 제작하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 SLS(Selective Laser Sintering)형 RP(Rapid Prototyping System)을 이용하여 미세구조 몰드를 제작하였으며, 패턴의 깊이는 400 ㎛까지 구현하였다. 제작된 몰드의 강도와 내열성을 높이기 위하여 전해도금을 이용하여 몰드의 표면에 Ni를 300 ㎛생성 시켰다.

Construction of a 300-Meter Vertical City: Abeno Harukas

  • Abeno Harukas is the tallest building in Japan and is located in Abeno, which is one of the three main railway transport nodes in Osaka. This building has a height of 300 meters, and its lowest levels are 30 meters below ground. It contains a department store, museum, offices, a hotel, and an observatory. In this urban renewal project, a section of the department store that encloses the station was dismantled and replaced by a supertall building complex, while infrastructure was simultaneously constructed, including: upgrades to the station and the existing department store, improved connections to the subway and pedestrian bridges, and a new pedestrian walkway over the road. In this paper, the ingenious erection processes, newly developed technologies, and precise construction management techniques are introduced for Japan's tallest building.

The recombination velocity at III-V compound heterojunctions with applications to Al/$_x$/Ga/$_1-x$/As-GaAs/$_1-y$/Sb/$_y$/ solar cells

  • Interface recombination velocity in $Al_{x}$G $a_{1-x}$ As-GaAs and $Al_{0.85}$, G $a_{0.15}$ As-GaA $s_{1-y}$S $b_{y}$ heterojunction systems is studied as a function of lattice mismatch. The results are applied to the design of highly efficient III-V heterojunction solar cells. A horizontal liquid-phase epitaxial growth system was used to prepare p-p-p and p-p-n $Al_{x}$G $a_{1-x}$ As-GaA $s_{1-y}$S $b_{y}$-A $l_{x}$G $a_{1-x}$ As double heterojunction test samples with specified values of x and y. Samples were grown at each composition, with different GaAs and GaAs Sb layer thicknesses. A method was developed to obtain the lattice mismatch and lattice constants in mixed single crystals grown on (100) and (111)B oriented GaAs substrates. In the AlGaAs system, elastic lattice deformation with effective Poisson ratios .mu.$_{eff}$ (100=0.312 and .mu.$_{eff}$ (111B) =0.190 was observed. The lattice constant $a_{0}$ (A $l_{x}$G $a_{1-x}$ As)=5.6532+0.0084x.angs. was obtained at 300K which is in good Agreement with Vegard's law. In the GaAsSb system, although elastic lattice deformation was observed in (111) B-oriented crystals, misfit dislocations reduced the Poisson ratio to zero in (100)-oriented samples. When $a_{0}$ (GaSb)=6.0959 .angs. was assumed at 300K, both (100) and (111)B oriented GaAsSb layers deviated only slightly from Vegard's law. Both (100) and (111)B zero-mismatch $Al_{0.85}$ G $a_{0.15}$As-GaA $s_{1-y}$S $b_{y}$ layers were grown from melts with a weight ratio of $W_{sb}$ / $W_{Ga}$ =0.13 and a growth temperature of 840 to 820 .deg.C. The corresponding Sb compositions were y=0.015 and 0.024 on (100) and (111)B orientations, respectively. This occurs because of a fortuitous in the Sb distribution coefficient with orientation. Interface recombination velocity was estimated from the dependence of the effective minority carrier lifetime on double-heterojunction spacing, using either optical phase-shift or electroluminescence timedecay techniques. The recombination velocity at a (100) interface was reduced from (2 to 3)*10$^{4}$ for y=0 to (6 to 7)*10$^{3}$ cm/sec for lattice-matched $Al_{0.85}$G $a_{0.15}$As-GaA $s_{0.985}$S $b_{0.015}$ Although this reduction is slightly less than that expected from the exponential relationship between interface recombination velocity and lattice mismatch as found in the AlGaAs-GaAs system, solar cells constructed from such a combination of materials should have an excellent spectral response to photons with energies over the full range from 1.4 to 2.6 eV. Similar measurements on a (111) B oriented lattice-matched heterojunction produced some-what larger interface recombination velocities.ities.ities.s.

전도성 복합소재의 합성과 특성연구 (Preparation and Characterization of Conducting Composites Impregnated with Thick Polyheterocyclic Polymers)

  • 경량성의 전도성복합수지는 전도성고분자인 폴리피롤과 폴리티오펜이 다공성의 가교폴리스티렌의 내부에 분산되어 전도성네트워크를 형성시킴으로 제조된다. 높은 다공성과 친유성의 특성을 갖는 호스트고분자는 고농축에멀션중합방법을 이용하여 합성하고 전도성복합수지는 이 호스트고분자를 이용하여 이단계 함침방법으로 제조한다. $FeCl_3$을 개시제와 혼입체로 사용하여 제조한 폴리피롤복합수지의 전기전도도는 0.82 S/cm이며, $FeCl_3$-아세토니트릴을 개시제로 사용하여 제조한 폴리티오펜복합수지는 전기전도도가 6.05 S/cm에 이른다. 전도성복합수지의 전기전도도는 사용된 산화제 용매와 초기산화제와 단량체 몰비율에 크게 영향을 받는다. 전자현미경조사에 의하면 전도성고분자가 다공성 호스트고분자 내부벽에 필림을 형성한다. 폴리피롤소재복합수지와 폴리티오펜소재복합수지의 전기차단효율은 2.0 GHz에서 각각 15.2dB와 22.5dB였다. 20K-300K의온도범위에서 저항의 온도의존성에 대한 실험결과에 의하면 전도성복합수지는 반도체특성을 보이고 전기전도기구는 전형적인 VRH모델을 따른다.

  • 우주 구조물을 위협하는 여러 요소들 중 MMOD(MicroMeteoroid and Orbital Debris)는 약 8~70km/s의 속도로 우주 구조물과 충돌하여 큰 피해를 주고 있다. 이러한 피해로부터 우주 구조물을 보호하기 위해서 현재 다양한 위플 쉴드가 연구, 적용되고 있다. 위플 쉴드에는 알루미늄이 주로 사용되고 있지만, 복합재료의 시용도 증가하고 있어 본 연구에서는 알루미늄과 복합 재료의 초고속 충돌 특성을 유한 요소 해석을 통해 비교하였다. 충격체는 직경 5.5mm인 알루미늄 2017-T4의 구를 사용하였고, 알루미늄 평판은 6061-T6, CFRP 평판은 T300/5208을 사용하였다. 충격체의 초기 충돌 속도는 1km/s이다. 충돌 후 충격체의 운동에너지는 알루미늄 평판의 경우 약 64J 감소하였고, CFRP 평판의 경우 약 63J 감소하였다. 비슷한 충돌 에너지 흡수 정도를 보이고 있지만, 밀도를 비교해 보았을 때 CFRP가 약 1.7배 가볍기 때문에 방탄 특성이 더 좋다고 할 수 있다.

  • Korea Superconducting Tokamak Advanced Research (KSTAR) has a helium refrigeration system (HRS) with the cooling capacity of 9 kW at 4.5 K. Main cold components are composed of 300 tons of superconducting (SC) magnets, main cryostat thermal shields, and SC current feeder system. The HRS comprises six gas storage tanks, a liquid nitrogen tank, the room temperature compression sector, the cold box (C/B), the 1st stage helium distribution box (DB#1), the PLC base local control system interconnected to central control tower and so on. Between HRS and cold components, there's another distribution box (DB#2) nearby the KSTAR device. The entire KSTAR device was constructed in 2007 and has been operated since 2008. This paper will present the maintenance result of the KSTAR HRS during the campaign and discuss the operation record and maintenance history of the KSTAR HRS.

  • This paper describes a power supply for a rapid pulse power charging system designed for charging a $0.35{\mu}F$ capacitor to 20kV in approximately 3ms. The power supply should be capable of recharging the load capacitor maximum 300 times within one second. This power supply is based on a series resonant 3-phase inverter followed by the step-up transformers. The experiments have been carried out at different repetition rates and charging voltages.

  • We have developed a new type Automatic Vending Machine(AVM) of a small size with simplification of coin mechanisms. The AVM adopts a new type transportation system named thin film-transportation system. Thin films have advantages of safe guide and transportation of various goods which made from various materials and shapes. The AVM has advantages of low price and simple mechanisms. The compact size($300{\times}330{\times}630$, mm)is realized by the use of simple coin mechanisms and thin-transportation system.

  • KSTAR (Korea Superconducting Tokamak Advanced Research) 전류인입선(CL; Current Lead)은 4.5 K의 저온에서 운전되는 초전도 버스라인과 300 K의 실온에서 운전되는 MPS (Magnet Power Supply)를 전기적으로 연결하는 장치이다. 초기 플라즈마 발생시험을 위하여 TF (Toroidal Field) 및 PF (Poloidal Field) 리드박스에 전류인입선이 설치된다. TF 자석용 CL은 17.5 kA급 4 개의 CL에 최대 35 kA의 DC 전류가 인가되며, PF 자석용은 13 kA급 14 개의 CL에 350초간 $20\;{\sim}\;26\;kA$의 펄스 전류가 인가된다. 각각의 전류인입선은 TF 및 PF 자석에 전류를 인가하기 위한 버스라인이 연결되어 있으며, 전류인입선을 통해 초전도 버스라인으로 전달되는 전도열 및 전류인가시 발생되는 주울(Joule) 열을 차단하기 위한 헬륨냉매 제어시스템이 KSTAR 주장치와는 별도로 설치되어 있다. 리드박스 내 외부의 배관 및 제어시스템 설치완료 후 고진공 배기, 헬륨 누설검사, 전류인입선 유량 검사 및 액체질소 냉각시험을 실시하여 장치의 성능검증을 완료하였다.
