  • A purpose of this study measure the acceleration of operating KTX high speed train to find out something wrong to obtain reliable the acceleration measurement data. The existing measurement system come about a difference between measurement data of running off the track with the acceleration measurement data of operating KTX high speed train. Therefore, the measurement system needs make up for the weak points in the current system. This study analyze existing measurement system and the acceleration measurement data to introduce the synchronization of the existing measurement system and the acceleration measurement and will be reasonable to this sampling through field test.

  • The headway in Korean national railway normally runs from 6 to 10 minutes. It turns out that the current signal system can not decrease the running headway of the High Speed trains, which are scheduled to set out in April, 2004, between Seoul and Daejeon, since both the existing classical trains and the High Speed ones run on the section. Thus, a new signal system is to be introduced to secure safe and reduced headway. The present paper attempts to analyze the headway between this particular section Seoul-Daejeon of the classical line, where we expect the most severe bottleneck situation to occur. We employed two modes in our analysis : the Ground Signal mode and the On-board Signal mode. which are to be adopted starting from 2006.

  • This paper deals with propulsion system for the UTM-01(Urban Transit Maglev). We experiment about the LIM and the inverter at 4 running test maglev vehicle. It is measured voltage, current, power factor for inverter output. And we discussed about efficiency of the LIM about maglev system.

  • In recent years, the surroundings of Fire have rapidly changed and citizens need for Fire have been demanding very high. Under these situations, in order for satisfaction to all these demands, Seoul Emergency Operations Center have made improvements as the core fire operational center in Korea. However, There have been so many problems happening in the middle of receiving calls from malice citizens of Seoul. The purpose of this study is to scrutinize current operations focused on fire fighters in Seoul Emergency Operations Center and to cope with how to overcome these problem by using AMOS 21 & SPSS Statistics 21. The result of this study presents that how we can find to be Seoul Emergency Operations Center running well. And This study is applied to seoul fire policies or helped to setting them up.

  • AS City traffic means, the electric railway of the role is overwhelming with recognizing good merits of safety, no environment disruption and accurate destination time. Currently, Korea subway are running about 290km through eight subway lines. The latest constructed subway had been made by imperoved matherials which is going on improving. Therefore, we researched this project to keep up facilites easily, repress a leakge current and reduse install cost and repair time in changing facility at overhead Contact wire system because of arc by reforming construction plan about Expansion Joint and Air Section which is regarded as weak point when facilities are fixed and maintianed of Rigid Trolley bar System. as above we can contribute various part to making useful O.C.S(overhead contact wire system)

  • Since May 2003, On-line test to validate the interface between electrified conventional track, rolling stock, power supply and signalling system. Main test items are the suitability of the system such as vibration of the rolling stock, noise, current collection, track and signal system. In this article, part of the vibration and noise related test results are introduced such as the vibration of the carbody and bogie, running stability, jerk, interior noise of the passenger car and driver's cabin.

  • As climate change and environmental degradation become more evident, the public's concern and knowledge on sustainable development requires planners to have regards to social impacts and long term economic viability, as well as environmental impacts. The main objective of this study is to analyze existing sustainability assessment tools for single detached houses. The most widely used oversea tools are selected. From analysis on the existing assessment tools, "Impact Estimator" by Athena Institute, "Bees 4.0" by NIST, "CASBEE for Home" by JSBC, "Envest for Housing" by Energy Saving Trust, "LISA" by Center for Sustainable Technology, "SBTool" by iiSBE (International Initiative for Sustainable Built Environment), it can be seen that the current sustainability assessment programs are in need of much improvement. The selected programs are analyzed on scope of program setting & running, data input & output, assessment categories, and strength & weakness. This study is to supplement the existing sustainability assessment tools for single detached houses, and provide information for the development of web-based program to assist architects or home owners to plan sustainable houses in Korea in the schematic design stage.

  • This paper describes a one-chip micom controller and phase angle control method for self-starting and energy saving of single-phase induction motor. The proposed method is based on the optimal efficiency control which is running by variable phase angle of main winding current such as to maintain the maximum efficiency characteristics of the motor, in voltage control with TRIAC. Experiments are focused on a capacitor starting single-phase induction motor. The optimal energy saving by variable phase angle control are verified by experimental results. Also, auxiliary winding was controlled by electronic starting switch.

  • The railway signaling systems are computerized vital equipments for safety guarantee of train running. And also it is important to prepare the reliable communication link between signalling equipments. In this paper the review of signalling communication protocol used at current railway signalling is presented and basic line for reliable protocol structure is represented. And also the direction for our further study on these is discussed.

  • Industrial Technology Development Program enables the recipient to set up technology infrastructure and to facilitate technology diffusion. In return, government charges royalty from the program recipient. However, the current royalty system is not in the effective form. This study analyzes the various aspects of royalty collection methods applied to the Industrial Technology Development Program and recommend the following: (1) employ the combination of fixed amount royalty and running royalty with predetermined portion of revenue generated, (2) adjust the royalty collection duration by applying product life cycle, and (3) devise new program to link extra-gain from royalty collection with commercialization and other means to increase the effectiveness of research and development activities.
