  • Domestic freight car holding amount is possessing much amount than other vehicle model about 14,000. Problem is happening in bogie device of cast steel structure because is structure that there are many wear departments. Therefore, the KNR is restricting running speed of empty car by 70km/h low. In this research, presented speed elevation way as dynamic characteristic analysis result that use ADAMS and confirm running safety by main line test.

A study for charateristics of vehicle Running costs in Korea (우리나라 차량운행비의 특징에 관하여(논문))

  • A set of study has been made on the table of vehicle running costs, officially used by Korean government, in view to clarifay the relative value of costs composition characteristic and reduction rate due to road surface improvement. The amount of vehicle running costs in Korea and of the components, has been compared, with the corresponding value of the USA, Japan, France, Great Britain and Italy. Findings are briefly summerized : vehicle running costs have been found to be generally much expensive in Korea than the four developed countries except Italy; and significant differences have been also found on the pattern of savings for components of vehicle running costs presumable by pavement construction on road surface, between two countries, Korea and the USA.

  • This research aimed for 20 latter man whose body shape of torso alters remarkably to develop nipper pattern of running type considered characteristic of body shape of 20 latter man to keep rather balanced body shape against middle age when body shape changes extremely. 1. running type nipper pattern design. Pattern of running, lining and nipper were designed by flattening surface shell. A basis line of running pattern is completed by applying reduction ratio after 3 times of modification & complement based on surface shell. Nipper pattern is designed with design line set by a plaster cast based on running pattern line. Lining pattern is designed with lining design line set by a plaster cast based on running type outside material and nipper pattern. 2. Functional evaluation of research and commercial nipper. Functional inspection through dress test was applied 5point evaluation method and the result of functional inspection on the sight of a wearer is that research nipper(running reduction ratio 15%, nipper reduction ratio 18%) averaged more 4.8point but commercial nipper averaged less 1.8point in the aspect of 20 items such as wear sensibility, motional function and external appearance aesthetic. Research running type nipper scored high in order of motional function, looks of side, back, front and whole and wear sensibility. Functional inspection in the point of view of an observer is that research nipper(running reduction ratio 15%, nipper reduction ratio 18%) averaged over 4.8point and commercial nipper averaged under 1.9point in 17 items of external appearance beauty. Research running type nipper marked high in order of looks of back, whole, front and side.

  • In this study, on-line measuring system were developed to verify performances and functions of traction system that are used in KTX(Korea Train eXpress) synthetically and efficiently, and have been measuring electric signals of vehicle as well as mechanical signals up to the present. Running-braking measuring equipment was constructed in vehicle to optimize signal acquisition and analysis ability of the measuring system. Measurement data of signal were performed acquisition, analysis and evaluation using this equipment. KRRI(Korea Railroad Research Institute) described about main specifications of measuring equipment. Also, the structure and principles as well as main circuit system were explained in brief. KRRI analyzed the characteristics comparing design values with experimental values about running distance, running time and positive acceleration for KTX is running in full traction. We analyzed the distance and time according to number of motor block. In result, running characteristics of traction system in KTX were verified and could be evaluated.

  • In this study, temperature sensors were adhered to transformer that is used in KHST(Korean High-Speed Train) to verify variation of temperature characteristics about transformer synthetically and efficiently. In the case that temperature of transformer exceeds reference temperature for running of KHST, overheating of transformer may cause a fatal accident of vehicle. Therefore, after on-line measuring system was constructed in vehicle, oil temperature and tank temperature were measured on real-time. Characteristics and main specifications of transformer in KHST were described in this paper Also, measuring system for temperature measurement of transformer was explained in brief. Temperature data of transformer was acquired using measuring system, KRRI(Korea Railroad Research Institute) analyzed characteristic in contrast with comparing with temperature of transformer about month, running speed and running time.

  • Recently, as the road capacity reaches the limit and environmental problems becomes serious, there is gradually increased a need for railroad vehicles that are environment-friendly and have time regularity, reliability, and safety. Accordingly, in addition to conventional railroad vehicles, lots of vehicles are being newly developed.   • The some papers which deal with the dynamic instability for shell-like structures under the dynamic excitation have been published, but there are few papers which treat the essential phenomenon of the dynamic buckling using the phase plane for investigating occurrence of chaos. In nonlinear dynamic, examining the characteristics of attractor on the phase plane and investigating the dynamic buckling process are very important thing for understanding why unstable phenomena are sensitively originated by various initial conditions. In this study, the direct and indirect snapping of shallow EP shell considering geometrical nonlinearity are investigated by Galerkin method numerically. This finding out the characteristic of the dynamic instability through the phases curves and running response spectrum.

Comparison of the Performance of Pivoted Pad Thrust Bearings (피봇식 패드 추력베어링의 성능 비교)

  • In this paper the lubrication performances of line pivoted pad thrust bearing and point pivoted pad thrust bearing are studied by a numerical analysis. The running characteristic parameters such as nondimensional load carrying capacity nondimensional friciton power loss nondimensional flow rate and film thickness ratios are calculated for various circumferential pivot positions. The results provide a usdful data for the selection of pivot position in a pivoted and thrust bearing.

  • The advance of traction motor control technology and the complexity of the traction power supply system makes the simulation essential in determining the dimension of the traction power supply system. The conventional method, use of the simplified and/or empirical equations, becomes inadequate in optimization of the design. The simulator presented in this paper is a numerical time based simulator running on a PC. The input to the simulator includes the track data, the train characteristic, network data and operating data. Basically the simulator conducts train running simulation and loadflow study repeatedly. The principle algorithms and its output is discussed in the paper.
