Supersonic jet fighter aircraft must have been guaranteed appropriate for controllability and stability in HAoA(High Angle of Attack) region. Limit value of aircraft enter the deep stall at HAoA is related to problem of aircraft configuration design. But, In order to guarantee the aircraft safety in HAoA, control law is designed using digital Fly-By-Wire flight control system in modern versions of supersonic jet fighter aircraft. Also, In order to recovery if aircraft enter the deep stall or spin, anti-spin control law and MPO(Manual Pitch Override) mode is designed. AoA limiter and MPO is designed in longitudinal axis and HAoA departure prevention logic, roll command limiter, rudder fader and anti-spin logic is designed in lateral-directional axis. In this paper, we introduce the T-50 HAoA flight control law and propose that aircraft stability and adequate of these control law from HAoA flight test.

This paper presents a design of fuzzy PD depth controller for the autonomous underwater vehicle entitled KAUV-1. The vehicle is shaped like a torpedo with light weight and small size and used for marine exploration and monitoring. The KAUV-1 has a unique ducted propeller located at aft end with yawing actuation acting as a rudder. For depth control, the KAUV-1 uses a mass shifter mechanism to change its center of gravity, consequently, can control pitch angle and depth of the vehicle. A design of classical PD depth controller for the KAUV-1 was presented and analyzed. However, it has inherent drawback of gains, which is their values are fixed. Meanwhile, in different operation modes, vehicle dynamics might have different effects on the behavior of the vehicle. In this reason, control gains need to be appropriately changed according to vehicle operating states for better performance. This paper presents a self-tuning gain for depth controller using the fuzzy logic method which is based on the classical PD controller. The self-tuning gains are outputs of fuzzy logic blocks. The performance of the self-tuning gain controller is simulated using Matlab/Simulink and is compared with that of the classical PD controller.

The flight control of aircraft, which has nonlinear time-varying dynamic characteristics depending on the various and unexpected external conditions, can be performed on two motions: longitudinal motion and lateral motion. In the longitudinal motion control of aircraft, pitch and trust are major control parameters and roll and yaw are control ones in the lateral motion control. Until now, a number of efficient and reliable control schemes that can guarantee the stability and maneuverability of the aircraft have been developed. Recently, the intelligent flight control scheme, which differs from the conventional control strategy requiring the various and complicate procedures such as the wind tunnel and environmental experiments, has attracted attention. In this paper, an intelligent longitudinal control scheme has been proposed utilizing Interval Type-2 fuzzy logic which can be recognized as a representative intelligent control methodology. The results will be verified through computer simulation with a F-4 jet fighter.

Modem version of supersonic jet fighter aircraft must have been guaranteed appropriate controllability and stability in HAoA(High Angle of Attack). Limit value of aircraft entering into the departure in HAoA is related to aircraft configuration design. But, the control law such as AoA and yaw-rate limiter is implemented in digital Fly-By-Wire flight control system of supersonic jet fighter to guarantee the aircraft's safety in HAoA. The HAoA flight control law have two parts, one is control law of departure prevention and the other is control law of departure recovery support. The control laws of departure prevention for advanced jet trainer consist AoA limiter, roll command limiter and rudder fader. The control laws of departure recovery support are consist yaw-rate limiter and MPO(Manual Pitch Override) mode. The guideline of pitch rocking using MPO mode is simple, but operating skill of pitch rocking is very difficult by the pilot with inexperience of departure situation. This paper addresses the design and validation of APR(Automatic Pitch Rocker) control law instead of MPO in order to automatic recovery without manual pitch rocking by the pilot. And, recovery characteristic with APR verifies by the nonlinear analysis and pilot evaluation.
The emphasis is put on the detailed knowledge on manoeuvring characteristic for the safe navigation while avoiding terrible collision between ships and on the guideline to the design and operation of the ship-waterway system The numerical simulation of manoeuvring motion was carried out parametrically for different ship types, ship-velocity ratios, separation and stagger between ships. As for the calculation parameters, the ratios of velocity difference (hereafter, $U_2$/$U_1$ ) between two ships were considered as 0.6, 1.2, 1.5. From the inspection of this investigation, it indicates the following result. Considering the interaction force only as parameter, the lateral distance between ships is necessarily required for the ship-velocity ratio of 1.2, compared to the cases of 0.6 and 1.5 regardless of the ship types. Furthermore, regardless of the ship-velocity ratio, an overtaking and overtaken vessel can be manoeuvred safely without deviating from the original course under the following conditions: the lateral distance between two vessels is approximately kept at 0.5 times of ship-length and 5 through 10. degrees of range in maximum rudder angle. The manoeuvring characteristic based on this investigation will be very useful for keeping the safety of navigation from the practical point of ships design and traffic control in restricted waterways.

In this study, a motion control problem for the vessels towed by tugboats or towing ships on the sea is considered. The towed vessel looks like the barge ship, which is used for many purposes. In these vessels, basically, the power propulsion system is not installed but just towed by a towing vessel such as tugboats with ropes and wires. It means that the motions of towed vessel are basically dependent on the tracking route of towing boat. Therefore, in some cases, undesirable and unpredictable motions may be made by environmental factors such as wave, wind attack and so on. As a result, a collision accident with others may occur during maneuvering situation. Based on these facts, the authors try to encourage the steering performance of the towed vessel by using controllable rudders without any propulsion system. In this study, especially, a controllable vessel with three rudders is considered, and a mathematical model is induced for the future study. The model is described as surge, sway motion and inertia moment by following the general representation method for the surface ship.
This study develops a control algorithm on berthing/unberthing system using a joystick for ships with thrusters and a rudder. A nonlinear mathematical model for low speed maneuvering of typical container ships is used to develop a MIMO(multi-input multi-output) nonlinear control algorithm for velocity feedback joystick control. Also a virtual HILS(hardware in the loop simulation) software program for berthing/unberthing is developed to test the performance of the nonlinear and a PID control algorithm. The program is developed using LabWindow/CVI, and a user can see current position and desired trajectory of ship in a monitor, then he can control forward and yaw velocities of a ship using a joystick. The simulation results show that the nonlinear mfd the PID controller have superior performance over a simple open loop joystick control algorithm.

For testing a newly designed ship's steering gear, a steering gear test bench with a steering gear to be tested and a load generation part should be prepared. The load given to the steering gear has to be pertinent to the load generated in a targeted ship. In this study, the authors suggest a process of estimating the load given to steering gears in ships. At first, a test for measuring the load in the steering gear of a real ship was conducted. Then, a process was developed to compute rudder driving torque and force by using basic equations including some empirical equations on ship's steering. The test results and the computation results on the load in the steering gear were compared, As a result, the process suggested in this study for estimating load in ship's steering gears was verified.
In response to the complexity and time demands of conventional methods for estimating the hydrodynamic coefficients, this study aims to revolutionize ship maneuvering analysis by utilizing automatic identification system (AIS) data and the Support Vector Regression (SVR) algorithm. The AIS data were collected and processed to remove outliers and impute missing values. The rate of turn (ROT), speed over ground (SOG), course over ground (COG) and heading (HDG) in AIS data were used to calculate the rudder angle and ship velocity components, which were then used as training data for a regression model. The accuracy and efficiency of the algorithm were validated by comparing SVR-based estimated hydrodynamic coefficients and the original hydrodynamic coefficients of the Mariner class vessel. The validated SVR algorithm was then applied to estimate the hydrodynamic coefficients for real ships using AIS data. The turning circle test wassimulated from calculated hydrodynamic coefficients and compared with the AIS data. The research results demonstrate the effectiveness of the SVR model in accurately estimating the hydrodynamic coefficients from the AIS data. In conclusion, this study proposes the viability of employing SVR model and AIS data for accurately estimating the hydrodynamic coefficients. It offers a practical approach to ship maneuvering prediction and control in the maritime industry.
