  • We have studied the blending effects of Diene NF 35R and Turfdene 1000R at various blending ratios 100/0, 70/30, 50/50, 30/70, 0/100, and of carbon black NAF and ISAF at various compounding ratios of 55 PHR, 65PHR, 75PHR for tyre tread rubber. As the results, it was found that; 1. For tyre tread rubber, as the blending ratio, Diene NF 35R/Turfdene 1000R, indicated 30/70, the physical properties we examined were most excellent. 2. Excellent result was obtained in case of carbon black compounding ratio of 63PHR. The compounding of ISAF made better result than that of HAF for tensile strength, tearing strength, and abrasion quantity. 3. Heat buildup obtained from compounding carbon black HAF indicated low temperature than that from compounding carbon black ISAF. As the compounding amount of carbon black increased, the heat buildup improved, and as the blending amount of Diene NF 35R decreased, the heat buildup dropped. 4. Carbon black was more efficient to Turfdene 1000R than to Diene NF 35R. 5. In this pysical properties, mooney viscosity, and mooney scorch time, as the compounding amount of carbon black increased, the values of mooney viscosity increased, but that of mooney scorch time dropped.

  • We have studied the blending effects of cis-1,4-polybutadiene (CBR) and styrene-tutadiene rubber at various blending ratios of 100 : 0, 70 30, 50 : 50, 30 : 70, 0 : 100, and of carbon black ISAF and HAP at various compounding ratios of 45 PHR, 55 PHR, 65 PHR, for tyre tread rubber. The results obtained are summerized as follows; 1. For tyre tread rubber, it was found to increased efficiency to use SBR polymer only than to use the blending ratio CB/SBR=30/70 below. But it was observed that the latter was adapted for the bus or truck tyre and the former for the passenger tyre. 2. Excellent efficiency was obtained in case of carbon black compounding ratio of 55%, and also the compounding of ISAF made better efficiency than that of HAF. 3. Carbon black was more efficient to SBR than to CB. 4. For the aging ratio, the compounding rubber of NR was the highest, and the ratio was decreased in order of the compounding rubber of oil-extended SBR or CB polymer only, the compounding rubber of non oil-extended SBR or CB polymer only, and the blending rubber.

  • We have studied the blending effects of Diene 33R and styrenebutadiene rubber at various blending ratios of 100/0, 70/30, 50/50, 30/70, 0/100, and of carbon black HAF and ISAF at various compounding ratios of 55 PHR, 65 PHR, 75 PHR for tyre tread rubber. As the results, it was found that ; 1. For tyre tread rubber, when the blending ratio, Diene NF 35R/SBR 1778, indicated 30/70, the physical properties we examined were most excellent. 2. Excellent result was obtained in case of carbon black compounding ratio of 65 PHR. The compounding of ISAF made better result than that of HAF for abrasion quantity, tearing strength, and tensile strength. 3. Heat buildup obtained from compounding carbon black HAF indicated low temperature than that from compounding carbon black ISAF. As the compounding amount of carbon black increased, the heat buildup improved. And as the blending amount of Diene NF 35R decreased, the heat buildup dropped. 4. Carbon black was more efficient to SBR than to Diene Rubber. 5. It is a shortage that elongation revealed low price.

As the compounding amount of carbon black increased, and as the blending amount of AR 1530 decreased, the heat buildup increased. 4. Carbon black was more efficient to AR 1630 than io Diene NF 35 R. 5. In the physical properties, mooney viscosity and mooney scorch time, as the compounding amount of carbon black increased, the values of mooney viscosity increased, but that of mooney scorch time had a max. point at the compoundiug amount of carbon black, 55 PHR.

내구성 향상을 통한 고 신뢰성 Strut Mount 개발 (Development of a Strut Mount with High Reliability by Improving Durability)

  • A strut mount is an important part of vehicles which reduces the vibration and the impact transmitted from the wheels while supporting a shock absorber and a coil spring. Rubber compounding, shape design, and process design technologies are important components to improve the functionality of a strut mount such as durability, static, dynamic, and torsional characteristics. Among them the rubber compounding technology is the key technology which dominates the quality of a strut mount. In this study a strut mount with high reliability has been developed by adopting new rubber compounding and improving the shape of the inner plate and the isolator. Through the tests for prototypes it has been shown that the durability has been improved more than 2.5 times, from about 60,000 cycles to about 160,000 cycles.

Polyorganosiloxane 변성 말레화 EPDM/EPDM 방진고무의 제조와 그 특성 (Preparation and Properties of Polyorganosiloxane Modified Maleated EPDM/EPDM Rubber Vibration Isolator)

  • 산업폐기물 중의 하나인 무기 금속화합물, Alnico를 1,3,5-trimethylcyclotrisilazane으로 표면 처리하여 충전제로 하고 EPDM에 maleic anhydride (MA)를 용융 중합법으로 그라프트시켜 제조한 말레화 EPDM과 ${\alpha},{\omega}$-bis(3-aminopropyl)polydimethylsiloxane을 공중합시켜 제조한 말레화 EPDM-polydimethylsiloxane공중합체(MEPDM-PDMS)와 EPDM 및 표면처리된 Alnico를 compounding하여 composite rubber를 제조하였다. EPDM/Alnico/MEPDM-PDMS 방진고무는 MEPDMPDMS와 EPDM을 중량비로 1 : 10으로 하고 또한 충전제의 함량을 EPDM에 대하여 25, 50 phrs로 그리고 개시제로 dicumyl peroxide (DCP)를 첨가하여 compounding시킨 다음 유압 고온 프레스로 가교시켜 제조하였다. 제조한 composite rubber의 열적특성을 측정한 결과 MEPDM-PDMS를 첨가하여 제조한 시료의 Tg가 EPDM만으로 제조한 고무보다 약간 낮은 $-33^{\circ}C$ 부근으로 나타났고 DMA의 측정결과 손실계수 tan ${\delta}$는 MEPDM-PDMS을 혼합한 경우가 더 크게 나타나는 것으로 보아 방진 특성이 우수함을 확인하였다.

Recent Development of National Competency Standards in Korean Rubber Product Manufacturing

  • The national competency standards (NCS) is the national standard for standardizing the skills needed to successfully carry out the duties of industrial sites. It consists of competency units and their sub units. Two standards were developed for the manufacturing of Korean rubber products: rubber compounding and rubber product manufacturing. Each standard consists of ten competency units and their elements. Learning modules will be developed in the near future. It is expected that researchers and workers in the Korean rubber industry will utilize these standards.

슈퍼섬유 Chopped fiber와 고무와의 Compound에 따른 기계적 물성연구 (Study on the Mechanical Properties of Compounding Chopped Fiber and Rubber)

  • The uniformly dispersed p-Aramid chopped fiber in a variety of rubber was investigated. The cross section and surface properties in a variety of rubber were characterized by scanning electron microscopy(SEM), weight, tensile strength, cold resistance measurements. The 1mm p-Aramid chopped fiber better uniformly dispersed than the other p-Aramid chopped fiber. The p-Aramid of lmm chopped fiber showed excellent adhesion in rubber composite because of homogeneous dispersion. Consequently, the best 1mm chopped fiber and rubber improved the strength of the composite.
