  • 원자력발전소 중 중수로 형 원전에서는 원자로 냉각재로 중수를 사용하고 있으며, 방사능 누출을 예방하기 위하여 폐회로 순환으로 냉각을 하게 된다. 운전 중 냉각재 량의 감소는 원자로 핵연료 냉각 율을 부족하게 하여 노심 안전성에 치명적인 결과를 초래할 수 있고, 열교환기 혹은 격납용기 대기 중으로 고방사화 중수가 누설될 경우에는 작업자의 피폭을 초래할 수 있다. 따라서 원전의 냉각재 량을 실시간, 온라인으로 감시하는 것은 원자로 냉각 안전성 뿐 만 아니라 작업자 보호측면에서 매우 중요하다. 현재, 국내뿐만 아니라 중수로 형 원전 설계국인 캐나다에서도 실시간 감시보다는 아직 수작업에 의해 오프라인 감시를 하고 있으며 정확도, 신 시간성 등에서 문제점들을 가지고 있다. 여기에서는 발전소 전체 중수 량 냉각재를 컴퓨터를 이용하여 실용적이고 신뢰도 높게 측정, 감시하는 방법론을 개발한 내용과 시스템에 대해 기술한다.

  • Capsuloligamentous injury at the first metatarsophalangeal (MTP) joint is a common traumatic injury during physical activity, particularly on artificial turf. Mechanism of injury include excessive flexion, extension, or valgus stress. We report a non-operatively treated capsuloligamentous injury at the first MTP joint, which did not occur traumatically but developed by a stress-related mechanism in a collegiate rower.

  • Recently, use of High Voltage cables with extruded insualtion is increasing. Generally this polymeric insuation contains residual stresses. The effect of internal residual stresses is the so-called shrink-back of the insulation. If not controlled, these stresses may lead to problems during installation and service of the cables. Therefore in this paper, the definition and cause of shrinkage are described and furthermore the influence due to shrink-back at cable joint-box.

Development of Effective ${\gamma}$-ray and ${\beta}$-ray Detection Methods For Low-Level Radioactive Wastes (극저준위 방사성 폐기물을 위한 효율적인 ${\gamma}$-선 및 ${\beta}$-선 측정 방법 개발)

  • The non-combustible RI wastes disposed of in hospital every year emit ${\gamma}$-ray or ${\beta}$-ray but their activities are very low to the extent of background. Development of more simple methods is needed because the conventional detection methods are so ineffective and complex. In this study, to solve this problem, detection method using efficiency curve for ${\gamma}$-ray emitting radioactive wastes measurement is proposed and experimental detection efficiency equation is also determined through HPGe's standard specimen measurement. For ${\beta}$-emitting radioisotopes detection, new measurement method using detection efficiency estimated by Monte Carlo simulation and SBD measurements is also proposed. According to the results of this paper, the unknown activity of low-level radioactive wastes without LSC requiring the preparation of standard sample and measurement for standard source detection efficiency could be determined efficiently and simply about ${\pm}17%$ in errors by using the theoretical detection efficiency and the SBD measurement result.

  • This paper has been studied a rower amplifier for IMT-2000 handset. Circuit design is performed and optimized by using HP ADS RF software. Designed amplifier consist of 2 stage, has 25㏈ gain, over 27㏈m output power and about 40% power efficiency. Power amplifier operation frequency range is 1955${\pm}$70MHz. Mask layout of the designed Amplifier consisting of 4 mask. The measured results of these values are satisfying the specification of IMT-2000 handset.

  • This paper proposes a improvement of switching converter's input wave form using VIENNA Rectifier(three-phase three-switch three-level PWM Rectifier). VIENNA Rectifier is based on the combination of a three-phase diode bridge and dc/dc boost converter. It can be available to get sinusoidal mains current, and low-blocking voltage stress on rower transistors. In addition, it can control output voltage.

  • A calculation method on performance impact of the controllable operations parameter such as GT inlet filter ${\Delta}P$, compressor efficiency, and condenser pressure was devised to achieve best performance of combined cycle power plant with the on-line performance monitoring system. This method calculates the performance impact on the deviation between 'Expected' values and 'Actual' values. Controllable parameter targets are determined based on achievable performance given existing equipments and control conditions.

  • High temperature superconducting (HTS) cable could be regarded as one of the most promising technologies for large electric power delivery with high reliability and low losses of power transmission system. Therefore, since 2001, LS Cable Ltd. has been developing 22.9kV, 50MVA HTS cable system as a member of DAPAS (Dream for Advanced rower system by Applied Superconductivity technology) program. In 2003, 22.9kV HTS cable system, single-core cable employing BSCCO HTS wires was firstly manufactured in 2003, and then three-core cable was also successfully developed through the demonstration of its field applicability. In this paper, based on these experiences, the relevant design technology and transient characteristics of HTS cable is described.
