  • KORAIL has improved profitability through abolition of nonprofitable route and withdraw rolling stocks, operated at that route. as a part of that process, most sections of commuters' train are gone. presently, gyeongui-line and gyeongwon-line's commuter's trains are operated. Despite the abolition, there are demands for commuters' train. so, nonprofitable route operation policies are needed to meet the demands and connect seamlessly to KTX. In this study, we consider the overall operation policies and problems of commuters' train in the past. and then, we analyze foreign nonprofitable route, connected with high speed train, operation policies and search for the development suggestions for applying to the nonprofitable route between Iksan - jeonju section at Honam and joenra line.

  • In a route plan, the route selection is a complicated problem to consider the spatial distribution and influence through overall related data and objective analysis on the social, economic and technical condition. The developed system in this study was compared and estimated by deciding a practical section for its validity and efficiency. Using Geographic Information System (GIS), the various information required for route selections in database was constructed, the characteristics of subject area by executing three-dimensional terrain analysis was grasped effectively, and the control point through buffering, overlay and location operation was extracted. An optimum route was selected by calculating the sum of alternatives to the sub-criteria weight, and from this result, there is a difference between real route and proposed route according to the prioritization of decision criteria based on the importance. This research could be constructed and applied geospatial information to the reasonable route plan and an optimum route selection efficiently using GIS. Therefore, the applications are presented by applying Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) to the decision-making of information needed in route selection.

  • To estimate pollution sources in the watershed with various industries, the simulation of contamination route and distribution of 2-methyl-4,6-dinitriophenol(DNOC) were performed with a numerical model Hydro Geo Sphere. This study was performed calculations of the load using the measured concentration and simulated flow rate. And, the river was divided by the sampling sites at the mainstream, and the contribution rate at downstream sampling sites was calculated for each section. The results showed the concentration of the downstream sampling sites were decided by the concentration of upstream sites, and the contribution rates of the tributaries were calculated below 10%. The results also showed that the impact of the potential sources in Section 1(Geumho1 ~ Geumho2) and Section 5(Geumho5 ~ Geumho6) was larger than in the other area. In Section1 and Section5, It seemed to require detailed investigation.

  • By using the current road design method that is based on the regulation about structure and facilities standard of the road and the route plan guide of a national road and the alignment optimization road design method which is studied in the inside and outside of country, this study operate the route plan of the sample study and compare and analysis the route character, consequently the current design method has local optimization that is formed the plan by the stage and the section. Alignment optimization road design has the system optimal route search. But cost function has limite that caused by construction parameter that is not included in cost function. So we design a road route included cost function in main fields. As a result, we obtain a realistic and economically road route. The alignment optimization road design model has to be made up some problems, like the change of vertical gradient in the tunnel section, though this defects it has a lot of merits as a geometric design tool, especially in the feasibility study and the scheme design.

  • Even though the existing train route controlling method, using track circuits, ensures the sufficient number of operation, it still has problems such as discordance between train numbers which was planned for operating and train numbers being operated on the track, and allowing only one train entering for one route. To solve those problems, we study and develop the Smart train route controlling system which uses the real-time informations of train positions. This system enables improve the coefficient of utilization in a certain train route controlling section, and the safety level of train route controlling, but we should ensure satisfying reliability of data about tracks operated by trains. In addition, there is a need to protect accidents caused by erroneous information of train position, by reflecting changes of tracks, for example maintenance, improvement, expansion of tracks. In this paper, we describes data structure of a developed program which required to change CAD files to wiring diagrams and to generate them to data of tracks. And we show the result that the simulator, using the data structure, controls speed and route of trains without problems.

  • In this paper, we propose a destination optimal route algorithm for providing route finding service for the transportation handicapped by using the multi-criteria decision-making technique and the modified A-STAR optimal route search algorithm. This is a method to set the route to the destination centering on safety by replacing the distance cost of the existing A-STAR optimal route search algorithm with the safety cost calculated through AHP/TOPSIS analysis. To this end, 10 factors such as road damage, curb, and road hole were first classified as poor road factors that hinder road driving, and then pairwise comparison of AHP was analyzed and then defined as the weight of TOPSIS. Afterwards, the degree of driving safety was quantified for a certain road section in Busan through TOPSIS analysis, and the development of an optimal route search algorithm for the transportation handicapped that replaces the distance cost with safety in the finally modified A-STAR optimal route algorithm was completed.

  • The after 1974 capital region electric railroad is opened to traffic Koraill and Seoul metro adopt each other different power supply method and they operate and they are come. AC 25[kv] method voltage the insulation becomes larger standing distance highly, the case tunnel section which will introduce in the underground segment becomes on a large scale and the cost of construction increases to the city center and the underground segment adoption of DC method was many. To recent times with R-bar (Rigid-bar) introductions change of tunnel section the introduction of AC method came to be easy without in the underground segment. Operates sees in the electric protection where the Seoul metro and the Korail are different each other and, from the dead section segment the interior electric light to put out lights the passenger brings about inconveniently and the civil appeal which demands a power supply method unification occurs, within the company interchange electric railroad brazier safety improvement and maintenance expense curtailment etc. the flaw is original proposal, is a condition which finishes a feasibility study service about the power supply method fringe land. Interchange analysis of the DC electric railway it leads from the present paper and it compares under analyzing being it could be reflected to also the route which is in the process of actual using boil the strong point and a weak point of DC and AC method of the establishment route constructive at the time of and

  • Optimal route planning is the route planning to minimize voyage time or fuel consumption in a given ocean environment. Unlike the previous studies on weather routing, this study proposes an optimization method for the route planning to avoid the grounding risk in the coast. The route way-points were searched using Dijkstra algorithm, and then the optimization was performed to minimize fuel consumption by setting the optimization design parameter to the engine rpm. To set the engine rpm, a method to use the fixed rpm from the departure point to the destination point, and a method to use the rpm for each section by dividing the route were used. The ocean environmental factors considered for route planning were wind, wave, and current, and the depth information was utilized to compute grounding risk. The proposed method was applied to the ship passing between Mokpo and Jeju, and then it was confirmed that fuel consumption was reduced by comparing the optimum route and the past navigated route.

  • The purpose of this paper is to propose a new transit assignment model for intercity rail networks. The characteristics of intercity rail are different from that of public transit in urban area. Line selection probability on route section is introduced to include the characteristics of intercity rail into transit assignment model. Network expansion is more simplified by a assumption line selection probability is externally given. The generalized cost is used to decide the volume of each transit line in most of existing transit assignment models. But, many variables have influence on the volume of each line such as time schedule of transit lines, inter-station distance, passengers' income, seasonal variation of demand and regional characteristics. The influence of these variables can be considered to decide the volume of each line by introducing line selection probability on route section. The tests on a small scale network show that the model proposed in this paper is superior to existing models for predicting intercity rail demand. Proposed model is suitable to consider the complicated fare structure of intercity rail and to draw inter-station demand directly as a result of assignment procedure.
