Texture Analysis of Nickel Plating Surface Roughness Using Statistical Method (통계적 방법을 이용한 니켈도금 표면거칠기의 텍스처 해석)

  • There have been many developments in super precision working technique and working method up to, now. But, it is very difficult to evaluate working surface accurately without the technicians experience and judgment. Surface roughness tester using stylus was used to measure surface condition generally But this method is not so desirable because of damage on test piece caused by contact between the workpiece and the stylus sensor. As a result, non-contact method was known as a good way to carry, out this process without damage. However, this is a difficult one among the various measuring methods. So we are tying to suggest a new method using texture analysis through image processing to get a surface information in worked test piece. Co-occurrence matrix using difference of gray levels between a pixel and its neighboring one was used to study behavior of surface roughness and to J acquire data for analysis. Standard specimen was adapted to verify this research. We suggest texture information method in order to evaluate surface state for the best measurement system.

Fully Developed Turbulent Flow in Roughened Concentric Annuli : Experiment and Analysis (거친환형관내의 완전히 발달된 난류유동 : 실험과 해석)

  • 직경비가 0.26, 0.39, 그리고 0.56인 경우 거칠기를 내벽면에, 외벽면에, 그리고 양벽면에 각각 설치한 동심환형관에서 완전히 발달된 난류유동에 대한 거칠기 효과를 실험과 이론으로 해석하였다. 그리고 거칠기 효과를 정량적으로 파악하기 위해 양벽면 모두 매끈한 환형관의 경우도 포함하였다. 실험에서 마찰계수를 구하는데 필요한 속도분포와 전단응력들은 피토튜브와 X-형 열선풍속계를 사용하였다. 이론 해석은 수정대수 난류모델을 사용하였고 그 결과를 이론값과 비교하여 아래의 결론을 얻었다. 1) 무디다이어그램 (Moody diagram)은 거칠기가 설치된 이중관에는 적용할 수 없음을 보였다. 2) 경우(c) 와 (d)에서는 반경비가 클수록 반드시 마찰계수가 증가하지 않았다. 3) 4개의 경우중 거칠기로 인해 마찰계수가 증가하는 크기의 순서는 경우(d)가 가장 컸고 경우(a)가 가장 작았다.

3D Modeling of Ground Surface with Statistical Method (통계적방법을 이용한 연삭표면의 3차원모델링)

  • This paper simulated surface grinding process with statistically simulated grinding wheel topography, considering ridge formation phenomenon when grain scratch workpiece. Wheel grain is modeled as hybrid sphere and cone. Grinding wheel characteristic was evaluated with stylus by expanding the scanning region of the profilometer from a straight line to a plane. Each grain's diameter and semi-angle are assumed as normal distribution, each grain's protrusion height from wheel plane is assumed gamma distribution. So grinding wheel is simulated with grain's position randomly distributed without overlapping. Ground surface is 3-dimensionally simulated considering ridge formation of workpiece by each grain's cutting, and then surface profile and surface roughness parameters are compared with real ground workpiece.

  • Fused deposition(FD) modeling by Stratasys Inc., is one of the material deposition subfamilies of solid freeform fabrication(SFF) technologies. In this process, build material in the form of a flexible filament, is heated to a semi-liquid state and extruded from a robotically controlled deposition head onto a fixtureless table in a temperature controlled environment. The position of nozzle is computer controlled relative to the base, which allows geometric complex models to be made to precise dimensions. FDM provide what the part was directly tested by the worker. It provide believable data. This study is experiment on surface roughness of part at FDM

Form grinding characteristics of Sr ferrite (Sr 페라이트의 총형연삭특성)

  • This paper aims to clarify the effects of grinding conditions in form grinding of Sr-ferrite with the electro-plated diamond wheel. The main conclusions obtained were as follows. (1) The flexural strength and surface roughness of ferrite became the best at the peripheral wheel speed of 1700 m/min. (2) In the case of the depth of cut larger than 0.4mm, crack layers is induced in the ground surface, and the fracture type of chips exhibits slight ductile mode in the depth of cut smaller than 0.2mm. (3) Whe the depth of cut exceeds 0.6mm, the wheel life becomes extremely severe due to the large chipping and brack- age in the diamond grains. However, at the depth of cut .leq. 0.05mm, the diamond grain shows abrasive wear. (4) The decrease of flexural strength and the increase of surface roughness is in proportion to the increase of the feed rate. (5) Most effective nozzle setting angles with various delivery conditions of the grinding fluid, such as nozzle position .PHI. , flow rate Q, etc., were made clear.

  • We present a three-dimensional average flow model considering elastic deformation of pad asperities for chemical mechanical planarization. To consider the contact deformation of pad asperities in the calculation of the flow factor, three-dimensional contact analysis of a semi-infinite solid based on the use of influence functions is conducted from computer generated three dimensional roughness data. The average Reynolds equation and the boundary condition of both force and momentum balance are used to investigate the effect of pad roughness and external pressure conditions on film thickness and wafer position angle.

Environmentally conscious machining and technology have more important position in machining process, because cutting fluid has bad influence on the environment in milling process. This research is the experimental study on high speed machining of aluminum alloys through environmentally conscious machining. In this study, the surface roughness and chip appearance was investigated in the machining of aluminum alloys by dry machining, using cutting fluid and oil mist.

  • 본 연구는 동심환형관에서 거칠기가 없이 매끈한 경우, 내측벽에 만, 외측벽에 만, 그리고 양측 모두에 거칠기가 있는 4경우에 대해 직경비가 0.26, 0.39, 그리고 0.56일 때 벽면에 설치된 거칠기 위치들이 난류유동장에 미치는 효과를 실험적으로 조사하고자 한다. 최대속도와 전단응력이 0인 지점들, 시간평균속도의 구배들, 그리고 와확산계수들을 X형 열선풍속계와 이중 피토튜브를 사용하여 측정하였다. 본 연구를 통하여 동심환형관에 설치된 거칠기들이 난류유동에 미치는 효과에 대한 정량적자료를 제시할 수 있었다.

Experimental Investigation on the Flow in Concentric Annuli with Both Rough Walls (내·외벽에 거칠기가 있는 이중동심관 유동에 대한 실험적 연구)

  • Fully developed turbulent flow through three concentric annuli with both the rough inner and outer walls was experimentally investigated for a Reynolds number range Re=15,000-85,000. Measurements were made of the pressure drop, the positions of zero shear stress and maximum velocity, and the velocity distributions in annuli of radius ratios, ${\alpha}=0.26$, 0.4 and 0.56, respectively. The experimental results showed that the positions of zero shear streess and maximum velocity were only weakly dependent on the Reynolds number. It was also found that the position of zero shear stress was not coincident with that of maximum velocity. Furthmore, the former was influenced more sensitively than the latter on the square-ribbed roughness along the axial direction.
