  • It is common for highly loaded supersonic stage to have very high relative inlet Mach number. To get this level of inlet Mach number, rotor blade outer diameter or rotational speed should be increased. In the case of commercial turbo-fan engine, it is preferred to make the rotor blade outer diameter large than increasing the rotational speed. But, for multi-stage fan of military engines, overall diameter is often restricted and they are apt to increase the rotational speed. With high rotational speed, relative inlet Mach number is likely to be well supersonic over the entire rotor blade span and the characteristic of the stage is affected with meridional shape of the stage, especially at near hub or tip. In this paper, the aerodynamic performance of two different hub surface shape is compared and it's merit and demerits were discussed.

영구자석 고속전동기의 출력밀도 및 효율 향상을 위한 설계 기법 (Design Technique of a Permanent Magnet High-speed Motor for Improving Power Density and Efficiency)

  • This paper presents a design technique to improve the power density and efficiency of a permanent magnet high-speed motor by using the mono-PM rotor. The suggested model minimized rotor diameter and stack length which have a bad influence on shafting in the high-speed operation. Conventional and suggested motors are analyzed and compared by using FEM(Finite Element Method) to verify the effectiveness. The overall performance such as torque, losses, efficiency and power density and so on are investigated in detail. The results of the analysis deduced that the suggested mono-PM rotor design is superior to the conventional one.

  • In this study, the speed sensorless vector control system with the magnetizing inductance compensation structure is presented. The estimations of the rotor speed and the magnetizing inductance using the terminal voltages and currents are performed with the reduced order Gopinath flux observer. The rotor speed is estimated by the torque producing current which is derived from the estimated value of the rotor flux and the measured stator currents. In order to compensate the variation of the magnetizing inductance under the saturated conditions, we also established the compensation scheme which is made with the instantaneous reactive power. The validity of the proposed method is verified by simulation results.

  • This paper proposes a sensorless vector control of interior permanent magnet synchronous motor(IPMSM) using a reduced order observer. This method introduce the auxiliary control inputs that can eliminate the nonlinear term in the electrical equations and realize the linearization of the motor model. The rotor speed estimate with the observer that needs only the q-axis current. The rotor position calculate using the estimated rotor speed. The speed and position control implement with the estimated value. The validity of the proposed scheme is confirmed by various response characteristics.

  • This paper presents a modeling and simulation of a PI controller for maximum power extraction of a grid-connected wind energy conversion system with a link of a rectifier and an inverter. It discusses the maximum power control algorithm fnr a wind turbine and proposes, in a graphical form, the relationships of wind turbine output, rotor speed, power coefficient, tip-speed ratio with wind speed when the wind turbine is operated under the maximum power control. The control objective is to always extract maximum power from wind and transfer the power to the utility by controlling both the Pitch angle of the wind turbine blades and the inverter firing angle. Pitch control method is mechanically complicated, but the control performance is better than that of the stall regulation method. The simulation results performed on MATLAB will show the variation of generator's rotor angle and rotor speed, pitch angle, and generator output.

  • There are many kinds of motors operating by rated voltage which is constant. In this paper, the characteristics of separately excited direct current motor is analyzed when its terminal voltage is varied as its load current. As for this source, direct current generator of a series field is used, and it is driven at constant speed by a primemover. The induced voltage of the generator is propotional to its load current but it saturates as its load current is large. The charateristics of motor is studied by analog computer because of the nonlinearity of generator. The results are as follows: (1) The load current and the rotor speed of motor increase as the load of motor increases. But the speed of rotor decreases for the influence of the saturation of the iron of generator field when its load current is large. (2) Decreasing the inertia of motor and increasing the inductance of the armature circuit improve the stability of motor and the region of stable state. (3) By changing the field current of the motor, the speed and the direction of rotor can be controlled in wide range.

운전조건에 따른 제습로터의 제습특성과 유용도에 관한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on the Dehumidification Characteristics and the Effectiveness for Operating Conditions of a Desiccant Rotor)

  • An experimental study has been carried out to investigate the dehumidification characteristics for several operating conditions of a compact desiccant rotor. This problem is of particular interest in the design of a desiccant type of dehumidifier. Room temperature, room humidity, regeneration temperature, revolution speed and frontal air velocity of desiccant rotor are varied as operating conditions. The results obtained indicate that dehumidification rate is increased with an increase in the room humidity while dehumidification effectiveness is not changed much. It is also found that the optimal rotor speed and optimal regeneration temperature exist for maximum dehumidification rate and dehumidification effectiveness.

  • This paper deals with the comparison of rotor eddy current losses In two types of permanent magnet high-speed machines. The analytical method and two dimensional finite element analysis have been used to evaluate the rotor eddy current loss with the rotor magnetization Pattern. It is shown that the Halbach array produce rotor loss less than parallel magnetization.

  • This paper is concerning a vector control of wound-rotor induction motor from the secondary side. When the wound-rotor induction motor is vector controlled from the secondary side, it has the possibility that the vector control can be accurately done because the disturbance input, that is, primary voltage and all state variables, that is, primary currents and secondary currents can be detected. We consider it is deserve research that the vector control of wound-rotor induction motor from the secondary side, because there is the merit that we can reduce the inverter capacity to on the order of half of the motor capacity when we choose twice of the synchronous speed to the rated speed, though there is the problem of the brush maintenance. 절단 원추형 Squeeze Film Damper 베어링과 회전축계의 동특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Dynamic Characteristics of Truncated Cone Type Squeeze Film Damper Bearing and Rotor System)

  • This paper is a study on the dynamic characteristics of truncated cone type squeeze film damper(SFD) bearing and rotor system. This model can alter the radial oil film gap which Is Important to the performance of rotor-bearing system and manufactured easily to change the shape concept of traditional circular type SFD bearing. In theoretical analysis, the oil film pressure distribution, the oil film force, the film damping coefficient and the eccentricity ratio, etc. were induced with regard to the film inertia effect. The film damping coefficients and optimum design parameters are calculated. When unbalance parameter U is greater than 0.2, the nonlinear vibration such as "Jump" phenomena appears in the vicinity of rotor critical speed. At this time, the increases of bearing parameter U, journal distance S, Reynolds number Re can control this unstable vibration. The experimental results show that SFD hearing and rotor system which are designed according to the design parameters in the stable region are operated stably in rotational speed 9,600rpm without nonsynchronous behavior.
