A numerical analysis is performed to investigate the effect of rotation on the blood flow characteristics with four different angular velocities. The artery has a cylindrical shape with 50% stenosis rate symmetrically distributed at the middle. Blood flow is considered a non-Newtonian fluid. Using the Carreau model, we apply the pulsatile velocity profile at the inlet boundary. The period of the heart beat is one second. In comparison with no-rotation case, the flow recirculation zone (FRZ) contracts and its duration is reduced in axially rotating artery. Also wall shear stress is larger after the FRZ disappears. Although the geometry of artery is axisymmetry, the spiral wave and asymmetric flow occur clearly at the small rotation rate. It is caused that the flow is influenced by the effects of the rotation and the stenosis at same time.
In this paper, we investigated the propagation of thermoelastic surface waves in fibre-reinforced anisotropic general viscoelastic media of higher order of nth order including time rate of strain under the influence of rotation. The general surface wave speed is derived to study the effectsof rotation andthermal onsurface waves. Particular cases for Stoneley, Love and Rayleighwaves are discussed. The results obtained in this investigation are more general in the sense that some earlier published results are obtained from our result as special cases. Our results for viscoelastic of order zero are well agreed to fibre-reinforced materials. Comparison was made with the results obtained in the presence and absence of rotation and parameters for fibre-reinforced of the material medium. It is also observed that, surface waves cannot propagate in a fast rotating medium.Numerical results for particular materials are given and illustrated graphically. The results indicate that the effect of rotation on fibre-reinforced anisotropic general viscoelastic media are very pronounced.

We present numerical and experimental results of periodic flows inside a rectangular container under a background rotation. The periodic flows are generated by changing the speed of rotation periodically so that a time-periodic body forces produce the unsteady flows. In numerical computation, a parallel-computation technique with MPI is implemented. Flow visualization and PIV measurement are also performed to obtain velocity fields at the free surface. Through a series of numerical and experimental works, we aim to clarify, if any, the fundamental reasons \ulcornerf discrepancy between the two-dimensional computation and the experimental measurement, which was detected in the previous study for the same flow model. Specifically, we check if the various assumptions prerequisite for the validity of the classical Ekman pumping law are satisfied for periodic flows under a background rotation.
Carbon Nanotube have been proposed for use in various applications for electromechanical systems. Nano-electromechanical resonators which provide high frequency resolution and long energy storage time, play an important role in wide area fields of science and engineering. Using the control of tension in carbon nanotube, can be made the tunable resonator. In the study, we analysis the tunable frequency change of resonator by tension changes due to the rotation angles of the single-walled carbon nanotube resonator. The frequency characteristics of a resonator as a function of the rotation angle. The tension was found to decrease with increasing rotation angle, and therefore the resonance frequencies could be changed by controlling the single-walled carbon nanotube rotation angle. The resonance frequencies decreased with increasing angle, and when the rotation angle was greater than $60^{\circ}$, these changes were marked.
The control of the data retention time is a main issue for realizing future high density dynamic random access memory. The novel junction process scheme in sub-micron DRAM cell with STI(Shallow Trench Isolation) has been investigated to improve the tail component in the retention time distribution which is of great importance in DRAM characteristics. In this' paper, we propose the new implantation scheme by gate-related ion beam shadowing effect and buffer-enhanced ${\Delta}Rp$ (projected standard deviation) increase using buffered N-implantation with tilt and 4X(4 times)-rotation that is designed on the basis of the local-field-enhancement model of the tail component. We report an excellent tail improvement of the retention time distribution attributed to the reduction of electric field across the cell junction due to the redistribution of N-concentration which is Intentionally caused by ion Beam Shadowing and Buffering Effect using tilt implantation with 4X-rotation. And also, we suggest the least requirements for adoption of this new implantation scheme and the method to optimize the key parameters such as tilt angle, rotation number, Rp compensation and Nd/Na ratio. We used MEDICI Simulator to confirm the junction device characteristics. And measured the refresh time using the ADVAN Probe tester.
PURPOSE. Prevention of xerostomia and stress is important to prolong healthy life expectancy and improve the quality of life. We aimed to investigate the effects of tongue rotation exercise for increasing salivary secretions and stabilizing salivary stress hormone levels. MATERIALS AND METHODS. Twenty four participants without subjective oral dryness were enrolled. The exercises comprised tongue rotation exercise and empty chewing. The salivary stress hormone level was measured using a Salivary Amylase Monitor. Unstimulated whole saliva volume and salivary amylase activity were measured before tongue rotation exercise or empty chewing and subsequently 5, 10, and 15 minutes after these exercises. Differences in the rates of change of unstimulated whole saliva volume and salivary amylase activity were analyzed by repeated measure analysis of variance. RESULTS. Statistically significant differences among the rates of change were not observed after empty chewing for unstimulated whole saliva volume and salivary amylase activity at the four measurement times. However, the rate of change of unstimulated whole saliva volume and salivary amylase activity were statistically significantly different among the four time points: before the tongue rotation exercise and 5, 10, and 15 minutes post-exercise (P<.05 and P<.01, respectively). CONCLUSION. Tongue rotation is effective in increasing saliva secretion, reducing stress, improving oral function, and extending healthy life expectancy.
This paper derives the upper and the lower bound of the mean cycle time and the mean service time of the class 6 and the class 4, within which the minimum utilization constrain of the class 4 is guaranteed. Also, derived are conditions under which the token bus network is stable or unstable. These bounds and stable conditions are represented in terms of the high priority token hold time, the token rotation time and the arrival rate and the total station number etc. This paper suggest a parameter tuning algorithm in a partially symmetric token bus network with two classes, which maximizes the token rotation time for a suitable high priority token hold time and at the same time meets the stability condition of the network, the real time constraint and the minimum utilization constraint of the class 4.
Alight-weight robot arm carrying a payload is modelled as a cantilever beam with a tip mass subjected to a high speed rotation. Equations of Motion, for modal control, are represented as discrete state variable form. Digital optimal control law with observer is developed to suppress the arm vibration and control the position of the joint angle. The effects of the number of controlled modes, weighting factors of the performance index, reference rotation time, and sampling time on the control performance are analyzed by computer simulation and experiments.
Molecular reorientation of oblate symmetric top molecules with internal rotation is investigated theoretically and an analytic expression for the overall reorientational correlation time in terms of the internal angular momentum correlation time is derived. This expression is quite different from the expression for prolate symmetric top molecules but reduces to the same expression in the spherical top limit. Fast internal rotation is treated by a modified version of the extended rotational diffusion while the bulky symmetric top mainbody is treated by the rotational diffusion model.

Purpose: Digital medical image commenced with an introduction of PACS has become more popular today in the radiation diagnosis and medical treatment and made great progress, in particular, for medical testing field, whereas it has made slow progress for radiation therapy area. In order to accommodate the current trend of digital from analog, a spherical type mechanical check device (SMCD) that is form of spherical differing from the existing form of flat or cube has been designed and tested its practicability to replace the part in mechanical check with digital image from QA operation. Materials and Methods: If the distance maintains constant between source(target) and image detector with constant distance to the center of spherical type mechanical check device(SMCD), the size will be shown as a constant image at all times regardless of its direction exposed. For the test, two accurate hemispheres are made and put together which results in a sphere of the equilateral circle. Results: It enables a variety of implementation of the existing mechanical check using digital image as follows: congruity level of radiation field and light field, size accuracy of radiation field and collimation field, gantry rotation isocenter check, collimation rotation isocenter check, room laser accuracy check, collimation rotation angle check, couch rotation angle check, and more. Conclusion: It has proved its practicability in checking isocenter congruity level as real time at the time of simultaneous rotation between gantry and couch that is applied to the non-coplanar field, which had been hard to apply as a device formed of existing flat or cube.
