Shaping ability of Ni-Ti Rotary files in combination with GT Rotary Ni-Ti file

  • The objective of this study was to compare the apical shaping ability of the ProFile .04 taper, Lightspeed and HERO 642 rotary instruments and to assess the combined effect of GT Rotary files to Lightspeed and HERO 642 instruments. Forty-eight resin simulated root canal blocks divided into 4 groups with 12 canals. Forty-eight blocks were prepared by one operator with GT Rotary files using a high torque handpiece at 300 rpm. Thirty-six blocks in the three experimental groups were prepared with ProFile 04 taper file, Lightspeed file, HERO 642 file.(omitted)

  • The rolling piston type rotary compressor has been widely used for refrigeration and air-conditioning systems due to its compactness and high-speed operation. The present analysis is a part of research program directed toward maximizing these advantages of refrigerant compressors. The study of lubrication characteristics in the critical sliding component is essential for the design of refrigerant compressors. Therefore, theoretical investigation of the lubrication characteristics of a rotary compressor used for refrigeration and air-conditioning systems is studied. Newton-Raphson method is used for the partial elastohydrodynamic lubrication analysis between vane and rolling piston in the rotary compressor. The results show that the rotational speed of a shaft and the discharge pressure influence significantly the friction force and the energy loss between vane and rolling piston.

  • This study was carried out to propose a new-concept internal combustion engine which has great potential advantages to the conventional engines. Proposed new-concept engine is a kind of rotary engine. A rotor is rotating concentrically in a cylinder which is divided into two partitioning valves, and it makes four compartments in the cylinder. The volumes of each of four compartments are changing continuously with the rotor movement and performs the functions of intake, compression. expansion and exhaust simultaneously. Expected thermal efficiency for the real cycle is 26 percent at conditions of 1,000 rpm and compression ratio of 8.0, which is 3 to 4 percent higher than that of the conventional engines such as the piston engine, gas turbine and Wankel rotary engine. A simulation procedure proved that the new concept engine is functional, and has many potential advantages compared to the existing conventional engines.

  • 새로운 개념의 로터리엔진 초기 프로토타입을 제작하고 작동성 확인을 위한 모터링, 압축기 압력 및 연료 연소시험을 수행하였다. 기존 피스톤 엔진 및 반켈 로터리엔진과의 비교 분석을 통해 이 신개념 로터리엔진의 장 단점과 활용분야를 조사한 결과 이 엔진은 소형 항공기에 가장 적합하고, 이륜차와 휴대용 및 하이브리드 자동차용 Genset에도 기존 엔진보다 적용성이 더 좋을 것으로 파악되었다.

  • Rotary swaging is one of the incremental forming process which is a chipless metal forming process for the reduction of cross-sections of bars, tubes and wires. In the present work, the rotary swaging machine and dies were designed to investigate the formability of TDS(Tube Drive Shaft) used in automotive industry. The process variables such as the speed of forming, the shape of the formed materials and the reduction of area were also estimated to study experimental analyses of rotary swaging process using the materials of 34Mn5 and S45C. From experimental results, it was found that the process variables affected the quality of TDS in terms of hardness, the precision of products and the surface roughness. The hardness after swaging approved to be Increased with the increase in the reduction of diameter. And it was found that the grain size became smaller and the elongated grains were formed in the axis direction.

회전 스웨이징을 이용한 자동차용 카울크로스바의 일체화 제조공정 개발 (Development of One-Piece Manufacturing Process for Automotive Cowl Cross Bar Using Rotary Swaging)

  • The automobile cowl cross bar which is a backbone frame part holding electrical and air conditioning components inside the cockpit module has been designed with more complex geometries recently due to demands of its enhanced functions and reduced weight of frame parts. The traditional manufacturing process using welding between tubes with different diameters shows several problems such as poor mechanical characteristics and appearance, etc. Therefore, in this study, one-piece manufacturing processes which can eliminate the welding process were developed by applying the rotary swaging process. CAE analyses were conducted to examine the feasibility of the process and prototypes were manufactured by using a rotary swaging machine with 4 split rotating dies and 12 head rollers. Bending tests of the manufactured prototypes confirmed that the rotary swaging process gives better mechanical properties comparing with the conventional processes.

운전자 정보 시스템의 원형 컨트롤 사용에 대한 스테레오타입(선입견) 분석 (A Study on the Rotary Control Stereotypes of a Driver Information System)

  • Today's driver information system often features a rotary control type as a main controller for menu navigation. Population stereotype should be clearly understood in designing those systems to minimize the misunderstanding by the operator. This paper investigates stereotypes for rotary controlled menu interfaces and influences of contributing principles. A human factors experiment was conducted using various configurations of control-display layouts, cursor shapes/positions, and movement directions. The results showed that the control should be on the left of the display, with a rightward icon on the right side of the cursor, in order to match the stereotype. Regression analysis indicated that Warrick's principle was the most influential principle, followed by Icon shape, Icon position, Clockwise away, and Clockwise up principles. This study provides valuable information to designers of menu-based systems such as driver information systems and main control rooms that uses rotary controls.

  • The purpose of this research is to examine precise linear motion and rotary motion. A six-degrees-of-freedom fine motion mechanism is introduced to drive an object precisely in directions of X, Y and Z-axes and around them : three rectangular linear motion and rotary ones. An experimental mechanism is introduced in which a $70$\times$70$\times$70$\times$(${mm}^3$) cube object is driven by six PZT actuator. The study is to establish the six-degrees-of-freedom fine motion mechanism of linear motion and rotary motion using PZT actuator.

  • 본 연구에서는 회전기계에서 발생할 수 있는 고장에 대한 안전진단에 대한 사례연구이다. 각각의 회전기계에 대하여 진동분석을 통한 고장발생유무를 각종의 측정 데이터를 이용하여 분석하여 향후에 발생할 수 있는 고장에 대한 안전진단에 대한 방법을 연구하였다. 본 연구에서 제안한 상태 감시 및 진단 방법을 적용한 결과, 회전기계의 추후 고장을 예측할 수 있었다.

  • Design and test results of a VRAG(Vacuum Rotary Arc Gap) switch were presented. To control the damage of electrodes caused by the vacuum arc, Lorentz's force by the radial magnetic field between spiral electrodes was used to rotate the vacuum uc. VRAG switch electrodes were made of the material of CuCr and OFHC. Gap distance between two spiral type electrodes for the rotation of the arc discharge is 8, 10, 12mm. In the cathode, one trigger electrode was inserted into each spiral wing. Normal operation of the VRAG switch was confirmed with 10.6[$mutextrm{s}$]of trigger delay and 2~3[$mutextrm{s}$] of the jitter time. The speed of the vacuum arc was measured to be 0.6 ~ 1[km/s] by a motion analyzer.
