추진장치의 고장진단과 성능특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on Fault Diagnosis and Performance Evaluation of Propulsion Equipment)

  • Recently, as the feasibility study shows that trans-Korea railway and trans-continental railway are advantageous, interest in high-speed railway system is increasing. Because railway vehicle is environment-friendly and safe compared with airplane and ship, its market-sharing increases gradually. KHST(Korean High Speed Train) has been developed by KRRI (Korea Railroad Research Institute) for last 6 years to satisfy the need. An electric railway system is composed of high-tech subsystems, among which main electric equipment such as transformers and converter are critical components determining the performance of rolling stock. We developed a measurement system for on-line test and evaluation of performances of KHST. The measurement system is composed of software part and hardware part. Perfect interface between multi-users is possible. A now method to measure temperature was applied to the measurement system. By using the system, fault diagnosis and performance evaluation of electric equipment in Korean High Speed Train was conducted during test running.

  • Extruded aluminium panels have been widely used for railway vehicle structures because of their light specific weight and other merit. In the past, GMAW (Gas Metal Arc Welding) and GTAW (Gas Tungsten Arc Welding) were mainly used to join aluminium panels. But recently friction stir welding (FSW) is widely used. due to its lots of advantage. In this study aluminium A6005-T6 which are used for car body structures was chosen. The influence of main parameters such as : pin rotating speed, welding speed, shoulder diameter, pin length and tilting angle on mechanical properties was examined. Optical microscope observation, micro hardness test and tensile test were carried out. Tensile strength of the stir welded plates is 74% of that of the base material.

  • The CEM (Crash Energy Management) concept is getting important in rail vehicle design to minimize Injury on passengers and drivers on crash event. In this paper, the accuracy of the FEA analysis result was verified through the crush test on the front part of a non-CEM based carbody. Using the verified FEA analysis method, the energy absorbing capability of the CEM based carbody was estimated.

  • The weight saving that results from the substitution of aluminum alloy for steel may be used to provide reduced energy consumption and labor cost due to simplified manufacturing process and improved vehicle performance. Because of these advantages, foreign advanced rolling stock manufacturing companies have been using aluminum alloy for bodyshell manufacturing. In this research, the comparison between FE analysis and actual load test results is performed for aluminum extrusion bodyshell, which is manufactured by Rotem Company. And the results show that the aluminum carbody structure satisfies the strength and stiffness requirements. Commercial FE analysis code and specially designed test equipment are utilized for the structural analysis and the static load test of bodyshell respectively.

  • In this thesis, the impact analysis for the shunting procedure using the dynamic buffer characteristics of the coupler was developed. In this study, each car was modeled as one dimensional element by using the equivalent system. After the impact, the slip exists only between wheel and rail in the braked trainset. For this analysis the analysis code named the POTAS-MSM (Power Transmission Analysis Software Multi Slip Mechanism) which was developed for the numerical analysis of dynamic system is developed. The validation of this analysis was proven by comparing the numerical results with the results of world-famous S company which is located in Europe.

  • The operation of double deck train have increased in many countries such as Japan france, and the Netherlands as efficient, safe and convenient alternative transportation systems. Because of continuous concentration of population into Seoul metropolitan and serious traffic jam, the number of passengers using the commuter train have been increased rapidly. Considering these situations, we can find one of the solutions for heavy traffic problems through double deck trains. Stainless steel, and aluminum extruded panel are used to reduce the weight of double deck train. In this paper we compare the results of structural analysis of the double deck car body structures with Al extruded panels and stainless steel. We hope the results of this study may be used as basic guidelines in designing double deck trains in the future.

  • The most important thing to secure safety and reliability of railway vehicles is to verify performance characteristics of equipments, and related companies or research institutes had many efforts to verify performances and functions of equipments synthetically and efficiently. 수동필터를 이용한 고속전철 이선현상에 의한 전원외란 저감 (Reduction of Power Disturbance by Contact Loss Phenomenon of a High Speed Electric Train Using Passive Filters)

  • Since high-speed train is a dynamic load in which electric power is externally supplied, contact loss between the catenary and pantograph occurs. This phenomena including vibrations generates frequently irregular arcs, which, in turn causes EMI. Thus it is very important to develop the approach to reduce arc phenomenon by contact loss, as speed of electric railway vehicle increases. In case of an electric railway vehicle using electrical power, compared with diesel rolling stock, Power Line Disturbance(PLD) such as harmonics, transient voltage and current, Electromagnetic Interference(EMI), and dummy signal injection etc usually occur. In this study, the dynamic characteristics of a contact wire and a pantograph suppling electrical power to high-speed train are investigated with an electrical response point. To implement power line disturbance induced by contact loss phenomenon for high speed train operation, a hardware simulator which considers contact loss between contact wire and pantograph as well as contact wire deviation is developed. It is confirmed by the experiments that contact loss effect is largely dependent on voltage conditions when the contact loss occurs. Also, a passive filter is designed to reduce power disturbance and the designed system is verified by experiment.

직류철도 급전계통의 안전성 향상을 위한 차단기 동작 최적 설정의 실험적 고찰 (An Experimental Study on Operation Setting Optimization of Circuit Breaker for Improving Safety on DC Railroad Feeder System)

  • This paper presents an experimental study on the optimal settings for the selected DC fault relay (50F) to improve the operating performance for the high-speed circuit breaker on DC feeding system which ensure safety within rolling stock maintenance depot. In this study, current supplied to overhead contact wire was calculated on 1 ms interval to analyze the correction values of DC fault selective relay for the operation of current supply cutout. Particularly, standards for the accurate detection of accidents between an electric railway vehicle and the electric power facilities are shown by investigating the optimal correction values for detection of fault current, and the results indicated that it takes about 213 ms for the DC fault selective relay(50F) to fully open. In the future, the correction values of DC fault selective relay suggested in this paper will be used as the reference values of protective relay for the safe operation of DC electric railroad system such as urban railway.
