  • Negotiation plays a fundamental role in human cooperative activities, allowing people to resolve conflicts that could interfere with cooperative behaviors. Negotiation In multi-agent systems is achieved through the exchange of messages In a shared agent communication language (ACL). We introduce a rational negotiation meta-language for autonomous, self-interested, and resource-bounded artificial BDI agents. We then propose a negotiation protocol for BDI agents with communicative acts based on their mental states.

  • Groundwater has been a very precious resource for human life and economic development in the world. With increasing population and food demand, the groundwater use especially for agriculture is largely elevated worldwide. The very much large groundwater use results in depletion of major aquifers, land subsidences in many large cities, anthropogenic groundwater contamination, seawater intrusion in coastal areas and accompanying severe conflicts for water security. Furthermore, with the advent of changing climate, securing freshwater supply including groundwater becomes a pressing and critical issue for sustainable societal development in every country because prediction of precipitation is more difficult, its uneven distribution is aggravating, weather extremes are more frequent, and rising sea level is also threatening the freshwater resource. Under these difficulties, can groundwater be sustaining its role as essential element for human and society in the near future? We have to focus our efforts and wisdom on answering the question. Korean government should increase its investment in securing groundwater resources for changing climate.

  • The earlier literature widely documented the role of natural resources in economic development and confined their findings either in support of resource blessing growth or resource curse hypothesis. The ample research on the stated theme has available in the relevant databases, supported with empirical data, while a few studies used a case study or mixed-method approach. The study identified plenty of room on a given topic by conducting a systematic literature review and synthesizing the literature in more meaningful inferences. After a thorough investigation of the literature review through systematic intervention, the study concludes that natural resource management is imperative for a country's sustained growth. Simultaneously, it is desirable to reduce resource conflicts, improve institutional performance, decrease corruption, and stabilize the political environment to get maximum natural resource management potential globally.

  • A safe working environment is an important and crucial factor in the operation of a firm, and is also essential for logistics companies in supply chain management. This study confirmed that the safety climate and safety prevention activities have a positive relationship with safety behavior from the perspective of domestic small and medium-sized logistics companies that continue their business relationships by signing contracts with large logistics companies. In addition, the moderating role of regulatory uncertainty and competition uncertainty in the previous positive relationship was empirically examined.

The average score were parenting stress 2.50 out of 4, role conflict 2.48 out of 5, and turnover intention 2.71 out of 5. In order to analyze the factors affecting the turnover intention, multiple regression analysis was conducted using the role conflict, parenting stress, and job satisfaction. Parenting stress (β= .257 p<.001), job satisfaction (β= .242, p<.001) and role conflict(β=.161 p<.001) were resulted. The explanatory power of these factors Was 45.6%. In conclusion, the turnover intention of hospital nurses was found to be an important factor of parenting stress, role conflict, and job satisfaction. In order to lower the parenting stress and role conflicts and reduce the turnover intention of married nurses, it is necessary to reduce the parenting stress and role conflict in the hospital and home. • This study aims to discover an effect of conflicts between work-family family-work of hotel employees on their emotional exhaustion through an empirical analysis, and to propose relevant implications. Also, the study tried to identify which role a responsive strategy may play as a moderating variable from among such influential factors. In consideration of the sales and the number of rooms at hotels as of 2010, the study conducted survey research about seven hotels located in Seoul, and carried out research with 298 copies of effective samples. In order to confirm the effect of work-family family-work on emotional exhaustion, the study undertook a multiple regression analysis and performed a moderated regression analysis for confirming the moderation effect of a responsive strategy. As a result, only the conflicts between one's work and a family had a significant effect on emotional exhaustion, and a problem-oriented responsive strategy demonstrated a moderation effect of the conflicts between work-family family-work and emotional exhaustion. In this regard, hotels should be prepared with a system which enables hotel chefs to be more faithful to both their families and household affairs through the reasonable operation of workload or an instructive system at work, and it would be possible to deal with the symptom of emotional exhaustion by conflict management through a rational analysis of the cause of conflict, if any, as well as through an alternative to such a conflict.

  • Aside from enriching spirituality, religiously-themed museums play a crucial role in resolving conflicts among the nations peripherally or various cultural groups in a broad sense. Relatively speaking, Korea has achieved a peaceful multi-religious society, yet the 2019 pandemic caused certain religious conflicts to surface or perhaps resurface. Since the 2000, due to the increasing number of migrants, there has been increasing awareness of the need to accommodating even greater levels of religious diversity. Accordingly, this study aims to apprehend various educational programs and exhibitions that have been developed by St. Mungo's Museum of Religious Life and Art, the State Museum of the History of Religion, and the Museum of World Religions in multi-ethnic societies such as the UK, Russia, and Taiwan. Therein, it will be determined how these museums contribute to mutual understanding and interaction and this research will suggest the development of a religiously-themed museum capable of resolving a number of social conflicts and enriching the diversity of its nation.

  • This study analyzed the difficulties elementary school students have in role-playing analogy activities for concept learning of heat transfer. Eleven fifth graders were given an orientation class on role-playing analogy activity, a class for concept learning of heat transfer as presented in a textbook, and then they performed the role-playing analogy activity with concepts of heat transfer. After the classes, researchers investigated the difficulties students encountered through questionnaires and interviews. The following are results of the research: Difficulties that students faced in role-playing analogy activity can be classified into five types. First, students encountered difficulties in expressing the analogy. The students who had difficulties in expressing the analogy focused on expressions outside the science concepts or lacked understanding of the science concepts. They also had difficulties in expressing the analogy because they lacked the expressiveness of analogy or abilities in mapping errors. They had difficulties in expressing the planned role-playing analogy in a narrow space. Second, students also experienced difficulties in performing activities due to lack of understanding on activities or lack of experience. Third, students experienced difficulties in selecting roles because they preferred the specific role or unwanted the specific roles. Fourth, the members of group experienced difficulties in group activities because they did not concentrate on activities, failed to perform roles, or showed attitudes of an onlooker. Fifth, they experienced difficulties in communications due to unilateral communication, conflicts of opinions, and lack of opinions.

  • The aim of this research is to verify the assumption that the husband-to-wife violence lies upon a continuum of severity and to study how the premarital violence experience of husbands, along with their psychological characteristics and various marital interactions, can be the cause of husbands' violence against their wives. At the same time, the research aims at constructing a causal model of the husband-to-wife violence. For the purpose, this research surveyed 242 husbands residing in Pusan and another 50 husbands as violent assaulters in major cities of Korea. The following is a summary of the results of this research. First, the research can verify the two assumptions that “the group which has once inflicted a severe form of violence can easily inflict minor violences” and that “the factors related to violence play a far greater role in severe violences than in weaker violences.” As a result, it may be concluded that the study of a regular household violence can be based on the continuum of violence assumption. Secondly, In the husbands' experience of violence, dating violence and their experienced childhood abuse from their parents, in their psychological characteristics, temper control ability and their patriarchal sex role attitude, and finally in marital interactions, marital conflicts and distractor of communication played great role in their influence on the husband-to-wife violence. Thirdly, as the various factors which contribute to the violence against the wife have cause-and-effect rule, we shall be able to make a model which can be conceptualized.
