The purpose of this study is to confirm what the stress factors are in performing their jobs among librarians in Public libraries. The study further investigates to figure out the difference of the degree in cognition of job stress according to demographic characteristics of individuals and the impacts of the stress factors on job satisfaction. A survey was conducted for the study sending questionaires to 113 librarians working in 14 Public libraries in Pusan. The results of the study are followings: 1) Females experience higher job stress than males. 2) The younger the age, the higher the job stress. Also, the shorter the year at work, the higher the job stress. 3) The lower the license class, the higher the job stress. Also, singles than married have higher job stress. 4) In the impacts of stress factors on job satisfaction, role conflict is the most powerful factor, and then role overload, career development, role underload, role ambiguity and interpersonal relation, each in order.
The labor participation rate of women are increasing, especially for married and 30 and over aged women in Korea. Marital role quality might be regarded as an influencing factor on quality of life or health status. The purpose of this study is to investigate influencing factors on quality of marital role for Korean employed women with husband. Data were collected from 323 mothers of students at 3 kindergartens, 2 elementary schools, 3 middle schools, 4 high schools in metropolitan area, during 1998.8~1998.12. they were dual-earner couples, and were employed over one year. Response rate is 62.3%. Quality of marital role was measured using Role Quality Scale developed by Park, June & Kim(1999). This instrument is based on Role Rewards and Concerns Scale of Barnett et al.(1993) for quality of marital role. Quality of marital role is made of 19 items and the subfactors are doing households, satisfaction with husband, and relationship with husband The scale has good internal consistency (Cronbach $\alpha$= 0.90). The findings of this study show that age, monthly average household income, husband's occupation, husband's attitude for wife's employment, and the perceived equity for labor division between couples are significant variables for quality of marital role. But education, career years, working hours per week, occupation, monthly average wage, and marital years are not significant. 33.81% of the variance in quality of martal role were accounted for by these variables.
Purpose: This study was based on social-role theory, and purposes were to investigate (1) how depression and health determinants vary with married and employed women, and (2) what factors contribute to depression according to family cycle. Methods: A stratified convenience sample of 765 married and employed women was recruited during May to August 2010. Study variables of depression, socio-demographic threatening factors, psycho-stimulating factors, and social-role related factors were measured via a structured questionnaire. Results: Prevalence rate for depression was 18.6%, with highest rate (25.4%) from elementary laborers. Greater levels of depression were related to women's occupation, higher life stress, and poorer health; lower social support and vulnerable personality; higher levels of social-role related stress. From multivariate analysis, women with preadolescents were the most vulnerable to depression affected by occupation, life stress, personality, and parenting stress. These factors (except for occupational class) combined with economic status, social support, and housework unfairness were significant for depression in women with adolescents. Conclusion: Depression among married and employed women differs by psycho-stimulating and social role relevant factors in addition to occupational class and family life cycle. Female elementary laborers and women with children need to have the highest prioritization for community mental health programs.
The aim of study was to identify factors influencing the self-confidence in the teacher's role on adolescent suicide. The cross-sectional descriptive study design was used. Participants were 318 teachers from elementary, middle, and high school in D city. Data were collected using questionnaires which included general characteristics, attitude toward adolescent suicide, knowledge about guideline for adolescent suicide prevention, and self-confidence in the teacher's role on adolescent suicide. Collected data was analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, Pearson correlation coefficient, and multiple regression with SPSS 21.0 program. The results of the regression analysis revealed that experience of suicide education, attitude, and knowledge about adolescent suicide were the significant factors affecting the self-confidence in teacher's role for adolescent suicide. The predictor variables explained 22.5% of variance regarding self-confidence in teacher's role for adolescent suicide. Findings indicate the factors should be used in developing effective intervention for enhancement of self-confidence in teacher's role on adolescent suicide.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to explore the role performance and related factors of clinical research nurses (CRN) in the process of clinical trials of new drug development. Methods: Study participants were CRN whose affiliation was in non-capital areas and who had been working longer than three months at the time of the data collection. The data collection was conducted with a semi-structured questionnaire development by Hwang & Go, 2011 comprising 16 items of participants' characteristics and 60 items of role performance via in-person and online. Additionally, opinions which would be necessary to establish the CRN role were questioned for the future. A total of 141 questionnaires of 151 questionnaires responses were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, and ANOVA for data analysis as appropriate. Results: The level of overall role performance was above average (5.61±0.90) with the highest in subject care (6.04 ± 0.96) and management and the lowest in self-development (4.39 ± 1.52). The only factor affecting overall role performance was employment status and the only sub-category affected by factors of employment status, and some general characteristics was self-development. Conclusion: From study results, it can be concluded that the CRN seem to perform their proper role. Nonetheless, self-development should be considered as critical aspect for better CRN competency, which is an important aspect toward improving the CRN role performance. Additionally, efforts to improve the level of role performance must be established through stable employment and concrete departmental placement as suggested in this study.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the variables that influence public kindergarten teachers' role performance. A sample of 320 public kindergarten teachers in Gyeonggi-Do was selected randomly. Teacher's career, educational background, age, self-concept, and awareness of teaching profession, class size, age of classroom students, and organizational climate were examined as possible factors affecting teachers' role performance. Results showed that all factors except class size were related to teachers' role performance. The most significant impact on public kindergarten teachers' role performance was teacher autonomy in organizational climate.
Purpose - This study is an effort to assess the role of behavioral biases in investment decision making, specifically for mutual funds, and the moderating role of the investor. Individual investment behavior is concerned with choices about purchasing various securities. However, behavioral finance disputes the concept of perfect rationality and identifies psychological factors and their impact on decision-making. Research design, data, and methodology - A survey questionnaire was designed and used to collect responses using a judgmental sampling technique from 290 investors in the Gwalior Region. Cronbach's Alpha, factor analysis, and linear regression were all used to test the influence of behavioral biases on investment decision. Results - We found that the behavioral biases have a positive impact on investment decisions. Conclusions - This study's results identified three factors influencing investor behavior(rationale, investment skills, and profit making) and four factors influencing investor decisions (profit maker, market analysis, investment plan, seller). The overall results of the study also show that there is no significant relationship between investor behavior and investment decisions by gender in the market.
Purpose - Recently actively growing franchise systems distribution channel system in which franchise headquarter compared with franchise occupies an important place in distribution channel. Due to this, franchise and franchise headquarter are interdependent on task and in this situation the goal they go after, motivation and objective are probably inconsistent. If so, possibility to participate goal setting process or operating activity of opposite side is becoming bigger and in the end conflict may generate. The purpose of this study is to examine the role of the supervisor's attitude and expertise as moderating factors in the relationship between goal-incongruity/coercive power/role-incongruity and the conflict perceived by franchisee. Research design, data and methodology - This study was intended to verify how the supervisor's attitude and expertise as moderating factors in the relationship between goal-incongruity/coercive power/role-incongruity and the conflict perceived by franchisee. In order to achieve the purpose of this study, some study models and hypotheses have been established through theoretical examinations. Then, using these scales, the researcher completed the questionnaire survey. To test our hypotheses, the survey was conducted from March 9, 2016 for 20 days by random sampling, The study was implemented through a descriptive survey method using a self-administered questionnaire. A survey of 124 restaurant franchisee across Seoul and Gyeonggi Province was performed. A total of 124 completed responses were analyzed. In this study, I used SPSS 22.0 to analyze data and did frequency analysis to see demographic, and general features of the respondents; also did exploratory factor analysis to examine the validity of the items of measurement. Factor analysis was first calculated at a minimum, the number of factors, principal component analysis used when variables are committed to maximising the information with (principle component analysis) and the rotation of factors were angry about the great variable factors than 1.0 by applying Varimax rotation. In addition, I used the value of Cronbach's (Alpha) to examine the reliance of questionnaire items, final analysis the reliability factor can be found both high reliability hayeoteumeuro exceeds over 0.6 and did Multiple regression analysis to test hypothesis and also did hierarchical regression analysis to examine moderating effect. Results - To analyze the proposed model, according to the analysis result, it was found that the influence of goal-incongruity, coercive power, and role-incongruity on the perceived conflict of franchisee is moderated by the supervisor's attitude and expertise. That is, the more the supervisor's attitude and expertise were positive, the more the conflicts of the goal-incongruity, coercive power, and role-incongruity were decreased. It also confirmed previous research's finding that goal-incongruity, coercive power, and role-incongruity positively influence on the conflict. Conclusions - According to the results of this research which reduces the conflict of franchise from the in consistent goal; coercive power, and inconsistent role of superiors, it provides very important implications for franchise headquarter which has franchise system and also give them some suggestion about how to recruit superiors and what kind of training may be fit for the superiors.
Purpose: This study was done to identify degrees of maternal conflict, differences, and factors predicting conflict in mothers of toddlers. Method: A convenience sample of 300 mothers living in G city, Kyounggi-do whose child was between 12 to 36 months old was used. Data were collected through a questionnaire survey and analyzed using SPSS WIN 10.0. Results: The average score for maternal conflict was 67.35 (SD=10.18), somewhat lower than moderate in level. 'I as a human being' was the area of the 6-sub areas with the most conflict. Mothers experiencing higher maternal conflict were those who were less satisfied with marriage, quality of life, and maternal role, and whose child was stubborn and hard to please, who were unsatisfied with baby sitters or who had to rush their sick child to hospital. Factors that were significant in predicting maternal conflict were low satisfaction with maternal role and marriage, and a child who was difficult to care for. These factors accounted for 22% of explained variance. Conclusion: Nurses should help mothers resolve maternal conflict through education and counseling on the maternal role, but at the same time nurses should consider relationship of the mother with her husband and also special characteristics of her child.
Clinical laboratory testing plays a crucial role in the detection, diagnosis, and treatment of disease. Clinical laboratory scientists evaluate test results, develop and modify procedures, and establish and monitor programs, to ensure the accuracy of tests. It is clear that over the past decade the role of the clinical laboratory scientists has expanded and this process will be continued into the future. The purpose of this study is to clarify the factors influencing the job performance of clinical laboratory scientists and aim to provide the role and duties of clinical laboratory scientists. To examine the frequency of work context and the importance of task, the surveys were conducted on 168 clinical laboratory scientists. The questionnaire items were used 10 score by Likert scale. According to the results of this study, the important factor affecting the job performance was "Analyze laboratory findings to check the accuracy of the results", and the next factors were "Establish and monitor quality assurance programs", "Enter data from analyzer into computer", "Calibrate and maintain equipment". And the factors of "repeating same tasks" and "spend time making repetitive motions" were answered the highest. This study will provide strategies for improving work environment, developing education curriculum and method, and role of clinical laboratory scientists. We must continually upgrade our knowledge, and identify the new trends in technology and science and accept changes.
