Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a common childhood psychiatric disorder. Recently, it has been suggested that brain-derived neurotropic factor (BDNF) may play a role in the pathogenesis of ADHD. Our aim of this review is to understand the physiological functions of BDNF and its potential relationship with ADHD and therapeutic approaches of ADHD. Searches were conducted in Pubmed and Research Information Service System (RISS). In this review, we summarized important literatures for the physiological functions of BDNF in neurodevelopment, change of serum BDNF level in ADHD, association of BDNF polymorphism and ADHD and potential association of treatment of ADHD with serum BDNF level. Further studies are required to more clearly understand the source and the role of BDNF in ADHD and to develop BDNF based-ADHD treatement.
This experiment was carried out to examine the roles of selenium in arsenic- and chromium-induced oxidative stress, which results in chromosomal damage, such as sister chromatid exchange (SCE) and chromosomal aberration (CA). For this purpose, the frequency of CA and SCE related to the level of 0xidative stress were analyzed. Selenium decreased the frequency of CA induced by As. In order to evaluate the effect of selenium on clastogenic factors, media from As- and Cr-treated cells were ultrafiltered and added again to cells in the presence or absence of selenium. Selenium decreased the frequency of SCE by As and Cr. This observation indicates the possibility of presence of clastogenic factor. In addition, the clastogenic factor would be involed in oxidative stress since selenium decreased the level of oxidative stress. Thus, it is suggested that selenium may play a role as an anti-clastogenic effector by preventing the oxidative stress, thereby decreasing the frequency of Asand Cr-induced chromosomal damage.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the perceptions on youth's family role salience. The participants in this research were 526 university students(male 200, female 326). All respondents submitted their answers on a self-report questionnaire. The measurement instruments were Family Role Salience Scale(Hong, 2001), Self-esteem Scale(Rosenberg, 1979), and Gender Role Attitudes Scale(Kang, 2000). The data were analyzed with descriptive statistics, t-tests, and multiple regressions. The major results of this study were twofold. (a) The young male exhibited higher levels of family role salience (marital role salience, parental role salience, and homecare role salience) perceptions than the young female did. (b) Self-esteem showed a significant influence on the perceptions of youth's family role salience, whereas family socioeconomic status was a non-significant factor. However, gender role attitudes, parental relationship satisfaction, and religion showed different influences on the perceptions of family role salience for young male and female. Implications for educators and directions for future research are discussed.
The purpose of this study is to investigate the influence of KMS(Knowledge Management System) on the performance of KMS by setting the factors affecting KMS 's management performance as knowledge information factor and management factor. And the moderating effect of evaluation and compensation on knowledge information factor, management factor and management performance. As a result of the analysis, it was analyzed that the knowledge information factor set by the knowledge adaptability, the reliability of knowledge information, and knowledge management process affects the definition of management performance. Among the management factors, organizationalization and cooperation factors influence definition Respectively. In the results of verifying whether assessment and compensation play a moderating role, it is found that knowledge compatibility of knowledge information factor, reliability of knowledge information, support of knowledge management process, knowledge sharing activity of management factor, cooperation has played a moderating role in business performance.
Purpose : This study was to examine the influence of job stress of 119 Emergency Medical Technician on fatigue and job satisfaction. Methods : Subjects of this study were 228 Emergency Medical Technicians who worked at 119 Safety Center of total 92 fire stations in 12 cities of Gyeonggido including U, N, H, B, A, S, Y, G, G, G, P and I and the period of data collection was from July 11 to Sep. 10, 2007. Collected data were analyzed with SPSS 14.0 version. Results : Conclusions of this study were as follows. 1) Factor related to organization among job stress factors had the greatest influence on fatigue (B = 0.334, p < 0.01), followed by crisis situation factor (B = 0.2042, p < 0.01), inappropriate treatment factor (B = 0.174, p < 0.05), role conflict factor as special job (B = 0.109, p < 0.05) and professional knowledge and technique factor (B = 0.109, p < 0.05), and the influence of job stress factors on fatigue was explained as $R^2=0.340$. 2) Mental burden factor of job stress factors had the greatest influence on job satisfaction (B = -0.606, p < 0.01), followed by organization factor (B = -0.473, p < 0.01) and interpersonal relation and conflict factor (B = -0.339, p < 0.01), and the influence of job stress factor on fatigue was explained as $R^2=0.308$. Conclusions : Job stress of 119 rescuer is increasing continuously and such an accumulated stress lowers the job efficiency. In order to reduce, job stress, it is important to extend(${\rightarrow}$ have) proper self-development, maintain close relationships and mutual correlations among members of organization in personal dimension and to solve the role conflicts, define the organizational roles and simplify excessive job description into concrete work.
The purpose of this study was to explore the effects of father's socio-demographic variables and father's literacy beliefs on father's literacy interaction. Participants were 204 fathers who have children in 3 to 5 years of age. Data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, correlation analysis and stepwise multiple regression analysis. The findings are summarized as follows: (1) Father's education level was generally correlated with 'father role efficiency', 'open interaction', 'picture-book reading interaction' (2) Monthly income of the household was related 'father role efficiency', 'positive feelings on reading books'. (3) 'Literacy ability development from books', 'father role efficiency', 'positive feeling on reading books' were correlated 'open interaction' and 'picture book reading'. But, 'literacy ability development from books', 'father role efficiency', 'positive feeling on reading books' were negatively correlated 'direct interaction'. (4) The most influential factor on father's 'open interaction', 'direct interaction' was 'literacy ability development from books'. The most influential factor on father's 'picture-book reading' was 'positive feeling on reading books'. These findings highlight that 'literacy ability development from books' and 'positive feeling on reading books' may play critical roles in father's literacy interaction. So, it is very important that adequate training and support on father's literacy beliefs for father's high quality literacy interaction.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify experiences of nurses who served as preceptors in clinical education for senior student nurses in a college of medicine in Wonju city. Method: Data was collected from 20 preceptors instructing senior student nurses in 2001 using a self-completion questionnaire. To analyze data, content analysis was done using an analysis scheme developed by the investigators. Result: The analysis scheme consisted of 7 categories and 25 subcategories. 135 significant statements were analyzed and categorized. Preceptors indicated that they were role models, socialization facilitators and educators while instructing students in the clinical practicum. In performing the preceptors' role, preceptors reported that their most important change was self-enhancement, and positive experience was a constructive work atmosphere. The most important factor facilitating the preceptors' role performance was support from head nurses, and the most discouraging factor was work loads. Conclusion: This study suggests that interventions for encouragement and socialization of preceptors should be developed to promote clinical education for senior student nurses.
Bone resorption is linked to bone formation via temporal and spatial coupling within the remodeling cycle. Several lines of evidence point to the critical role of coupling factors derived from pre-osteoclasts (POCs) during the regulation of bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells (BMMSCs). However, the role of glial cell-derived neurotrophic factor (GDNF) in BMMSCs is not completely understood. Herein, we demonstrate the role of POC-derived GDNF in regulating the migration and osteogenic differentiation of BMMSCs. RNA sequencing revealed GDNF upregulation in POCs compared with monocytes/macrophages. Specifically, BMMSC migration was inhibited by a neutralizing antibody against GDNF in pre-osteoclast-conditioned medium (POC-CM), whereas treatment with a recombinant GDNF enhanced migration and osteogenic differentiation. In addition, POC-CM derived from GDNF knock-downed bone marrow macrophages suppressed BMMSC migration and osteogenic differentiation. SPP86, a small molecule inhibitor, inhibits BMMSC migration and osteogenic differentiation by targeting the receptor tyrosine kinase RET, which is recruited by GDNF into the GFRα1 complex. Overall, this study highlights the role of POC-derived GDNF in BMMSC migration and osteogenic differentiation, suggesting that GDNF regulates bone metabolism.
The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between male consumers' clothing shopping orientation and sex role identity. Since shopping, especially clothing shopping has been traditionally considered a female job, it was expected that male consumers' sex role identity would influence how they approach the task of clothing shopping. Data were collected through an Internet survey firm from men aged between 20 and 40 years(N=199). The major results are as follows: 1. Based on the six clothing shopping orientation factors identified tv factor analysis, the respondents were categorized into 5 distinct groups: Self-Directed Shoppers, Planners, Brand-Oriented Shoppers, Convenience Shoppers, and Impulsive High-Involvers. 2. Five sex role factors were identified by factor analysis: two masculinity factors (strong and reticent) and three femininity factors(gentle, meticulous, and affable). Among these factors, 'gentle' was considered the most ideal, followed in order by 'strong,' 'meticdous,' 'affable,' and 'reticent.' 3. The results of MANOVA showed that the clothing shopping orientation groups statistically differed in their perceived sex role identity as well as in their ideal sex role identity. Overall, Self-Directed Shoppers and Impulsive High-Involvers scored higher in both perceived masculinity and femininity than the other groups. Convenience Shoppers and Planners were high in femininity but low in masculinity. The Brand-Oriented Shoppers were low in both masculinity and femininity. The results indicate that Korean males who are in their 20s and 30s consider androgyny as a desirable state. In addition, those who are high in androgyny are more likely to be highly involved in clothing shopping.

The purpose of this study is to examine the role of the supervisor's attitude and expertise as moderating factors in the relationship between goal-incongruity/coercive power/role-incongruity and the conflict perceived by franchisee. Research design, data and methodology - This study was intended to verify how the supervisor's attitude and expertise as moderating factors in the relationship between goal-incongruity/coercive power/role-incongruity and the conflict perceived by franchisee. In order to achieve the purpose of this study, some study models and hypotheses have been established through theoretical examinations. Then, using these scales, the researcher completed the questionnaire survey. To test our hypotheses, the survey was conducted from March 9, 2016 for 20 days by random sampling, The study was implemented through a descriptive survey method using a self-administered questionnaire. A survey of 124 restaurant franchisee across Seoul and Gyeonggi Province was performed. A total of 124 completed responses were analyzed. In this study, I used SPSS 22.0 to analyze data and did frequency analysis to see demographic, and general features of the respondents; also did exploratory factor analysis to examine the validity of the items of measurement. That is, the more the supervisor's attitude and expertise were positive, the more the conflicts of the goal-incongruity, coercive power, and role-incongruity were decreased. It also confirmed previous research's finding that goal-incongruity, coercive power, and role-incongruity positively influence on the conflict. Conclusions - According to the results of this research which reduces the conflict of franchise from the in consistent goal; coercive power, and inconsistent role of superiors, it provides very important implications for franchise headquarter which has franchise system and also give them some suggestion about how to recruit superiors and what kind of training may be fit for the superiors.
