Study on Characteristics of Displacement and Stress of Piers under Adjacent load

  • Nowdays, adjacent loading bringing enormous harm to the existing bridge in engineering construction. In this paper, the influencing mechanism of adjacent loading to pier and Law of displacement of pier is researched through living examples, and the safe influence area has been defined. Research shows that: the main damages to piers is caused by the side loading; lateral displacement index of pier top surface is more conservative than the pier additional stress index; it is secure when the distance of adjacent load is 0.5 times of the height of accumulation or 6m, otherwise it would be very scary, and the monitoring measure is necessary.

  • CNS (Car Navigation System) is the most compatible candidate among various in-vehicle information systems as a provider of ITS (Intelligence Transport Systems) information. It generally consists of remote controller, display, CD-changer, GPS receiver and so on. Among them, display is the most important and critical element of the HMI (Human-Machine Interface) suggesting the digital map to the driver. Therefore, it is certain that the display gives cognitive, physical, mental and visual workloads to the driver which are directly related with the driver's and road safety with the success of ITS. Until now, various human factors techniques have been developed and applied to estimate the driver's workload and to collect the driver's requirements of the CNS digital map, for example, mental workload assessment, visual activity analysis, cognitive analysis and so on. In addition to these kinds of techniques, this research performed the human sensibility ergonomics approach to directly investigate and evaluate the driver's requirements and sensibilities of the real products.

  • 본 교통사고 동영상 DB 설계의 연구 목적은 교통사고 자동기록장치에서 수집되는 교통사고 동영상 자료를 효율적으로 활용하기 위한 교통사고 동영상 DB 구축 방안에 관한 연구이며, 이를 위해 ISO/IEC 11179 표준인 MDR을 이용한 교통사고 동영상 DB 논리 모델을 제안하는 데 있다. 본 논문에서 제안하는 DB구조를 통해 실시간 대용량 교통사고 동영상 데이터에 대한 데이터의 생성, 관리 및 검색 성능을 향상시킬 수 있을 뿐만 아니라, MDR 표준 개념 적용으로 상호 이질적인 DB 간의 상호운용성(interoperability)이 증대된다.

  • Dedicated Short-Range Communication은 단거리 무선 고속 패킷 통신 기능을 제공하며, 신뢰성, 안전한 데이터 전송 및 낮은 대기 시간으로 인해 Road Safety Application에서 널리 사용되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 SDN의 분산 컨트롤러를 이용하여 DSRC 통신을 제어하는 방식을 제안하였다. 제안한 기법을 실용화한다면 차량을 기반으로 한 실시간 교통 정보 수집이 보다 효과적으로 이루어질 것으로 기대된다.

  • In order to determine the level of safety on highway driving, the relationship between the psychophysiological signal and driving condition was investigated. In particular, a Demand-Effort model was conceptualized and used in this study to diagnose the suitability of driving by reading the patterns of psychophysiological signals. To run the model, threshold values were determined to categorize the high, moderate and low level of effort. To examine the sensitivity of the model, a cross-validation process was performed by collecting additional data. Further investigation need to be conducted to improve the sensitivity of the model for practical application.

  • Vehicular Ad-Hoc Networks (VANETs) using inter-vehicle communication can potentially enhance traffic safety and facilitate many vehicular applications. Therefore, this paper proposes an inter-vehicle routing protocol called Junction-Assisted Routing (JAR) that uses fixed junction nodes to create the routing paths for VANETs in city environments. JAR is a proactive routing protocol that uses the Expected Transmission Count (ETC) for the road segment between two neighbor junctions as the routing paths between junction nodes. Simulation results showed that the proposed JAR protocol could outperform existing routing protocols in terms of the packet delivery ratio and average packet delay.

  • As the necessity to utilize deep-placed underground spaces is increasing, we have to seriously consider the safety problems arising from the U/G spaces which is a restricted environment. Due to the higher cost of land compensation for above ground area and environmental issues, the plan to utilize deep-placed U/G spaces is currently only being established for the construction of U/G road network and GTX. However it is also expected that the U/G spaces are to be used as a living space because of the growing desires to change the above ground areas into the environmentally green spaces. Accordingly it is necessary to protect the U/G environments which is vulnerable against desasters caused by fire, explosion, flooding, terrorism, electric power failure, etc. properly. We want to introduce the principles of the Quantitative Risk Assessment(QRA) method for preparedness against the desasters arising from U/G environments, and also want to introduce an example of QRA which was implemented for the GOTTHARD tunnel which is the longest one in Europe.

  • In this research we developed a new traffic accident forecasting model on the basis of land use. A new traffic accident forecasting model by type was developed based on market segmentation and further introduction of variables that may reflect characteristics of various regions using Classification and Regression Tree Method. From the results of analysis, activities variables such as the registered population, commuters as well as road size, traffic accidents causing facilities being the subjects of activities were derived as variables explaining traffic accidents.

  • 기존 유선망 중심의 스마트시티 플랫폼과 달리 무선 통신 모듈을 가지고 있는 정보 수집 장치들과 연동할 수 있는 5G 스마트시티 융합서비스 플랫폼은 도시내 설치된 다양한 무선 정보 수집 장치들을 통하여 수집된 정보를 기반으로 분석된 각종 정보를 제공해 주는 시스템이다. 도시 정보 수집 장치들 중에는 5G 지능형 CCTV 가 있으며 이를 통해 수집되는 영상 이벤트 정보를 기반으로 도로 안전 서비스 제공을 위한 이벤트 수집/필터링/대응 기능을 통하여 도로 안전 서비스를 제공해 주는 시스템을 설계하고 개발하여 적용함으로써, 도시내 도로 안전 수준을 높이는 것으로 목적으로 하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 도로 안전 서비스 제공을 위한 기능 모듈 구성에 대해 기술하고 해당 모듈들을 통하여 제공되는 도로 안전 서비스 실증 사례를 제시하고자 한다.

  • Recent research has shown that deep learning models are vulnerable to adversarial attacks not only in the digital but also in the physical domain. This becomes very critical for applications that have a very high safety concern, such as self-driving cars. In this study, we propose a physical adversarial attack technique for one of the common tasks in self-driving cars, namely segmentation of the urban scene. Our method can create a texture on a wall so that it can be misclassified as a road. The demonstration of the technique on a state-of-the-art cityscape pretrained model shows a fairly high success rate, which should raise awareness of more potential attacks in self-driving cars.
