  • The purpose of this research aims to develop the creative economy sector of rural communities in Trenggalek Regency, East Java, Indonesia by mapping the creative economy sub-sectors in Trenggalek Regency. The creative economy industry has been shown to have a positive effect on GDP in many developing countries and developed countries. In urban areas, the creative economy is often associated with the development of advanced technology, such that it is unlikely to evolve in rural communities. However, the rural environmental landscape, which not only has a wealth of creative human capital but also a cultural heritage, also encourages the growth of the creative economy sector in rural areas. This qualitative research was conducted for 60 working days through in-depth interviews, focus group discussions, observation and literature review. More precisely, first, it identified the potential of the creative economy both sectorally and regionally. Second, it identified the leading creative economy subsectors and compiled a creative economic development road map. After defining and mapping the potential of the creative economy, four of the sixteen sub-sectors of the creative economy were identified to be developed through a strategic plan for the growth of the creative economy using urban branding, innovative industrial centers and renewable resources.

  • Among the government-sponsored projects supported by Ministry of SMEs and Startups(MSS), the financial support of the Consulting Research Institutes of our university is scheduled to be ended this year. In this regard, this study is to develop a profit model for R&D center of Consulting Research Institute that can cultivate the financial independence of R&D center of Consulting Research Institutes and foster technology convergence consulting manpower to strengthen the competitiveness of SMEs in preparation for the Fourth Industrial Revolution. The profit model were derived from the current status of consulting industry and similar organizations, the current status of consulting graduate R&D centers, case studies of other universities, and focus group interviews. In order to select three high profit models and commercialize them, BMC (Biz Model Canvas) was used and business feasibility was examined. Therefore, three profit model of R&D center of Consulting Research Institute are: First, SCB (SME's Consulting Business: Total Solution Provider for SMEs through Technology Convergence Consulting), Second, SNB (SME's Network Business: Experts connection in Consulting Graduate School for Solving Problems and Problems of SMEs / Industry Consolidation) And third, SM (Sustainable Management: Financial independence through structural improvement of Consulting Research Institute), and the road-map was established. As an implementation plan, the company intends to seek financial independence by developing a profit model for R&D center of Consulting Research Institutes and by establishing business goals and strategies, manpower operation plan, organization, and investment plan for three years.

  • Land development is an essential process to provide lands for housing, industrial, and tourism complex. The development and application of construction automation technology in land development construction are, however, not matured yet. Since land development requires massive investment in terms of cost and effort, the benefits of implementing earthwork construction automation technology could also be enormous. As such, the deployment of advanced technology needs to be assessed. In this paper, by investigating domestic and international advanced earthwork technology, 8 candidate technologies to be developed is derived. These technologies are then prioritized using AHP and web-based survey that distributed to experts in the field of civil and infrastructure. As a result, advanced earthwork fleet management platformization and tele-operation systems for unmanned earthwork are identified as the top priority. Besides through sensitivity analysis, the trends of the technology rank by the weight distribution of the evaluation factor is investigated. Consequently, the research and development processes for the earthwork construction automation technology in land development are explored and based on the results, the research and development road map plan is established.

  • This paper proposes a novel forward vehicle tracking algorithm based on the WMIL(Weighted Multiple Instance Learning) equipped with a particle filter. In the proposed algorithm Haar-like features are used to train a vehicle object detector to be tracked and the location of the object are obtained from the recognition result. In order to combine both the WMIL to construct the vehicle detector and the particle filter, the proposed algorithm updates the object location by executing the propagation, observation, estimation, and selection processes involved in particle filter instead of finding the credence map in the search area for every frame. The proposed algorithm inevitably increases the computation time because of the particle filter, but the tracking accuracy was highly improved compared to Ababoost, MIL(Multiple Instance Learning) and MIL-based ones so that the position error was 4.5 pixels in average for the videos of national high-way, express high-way, tunnel and urban paved road scene.

  • In this paper, a model for simulating synthetic aperture radar(SAR) images of earth surfaces. The earth surfaces include forest area, rice crop field, other agricultural fields, grass field, road, and water surface. At first, the backscattering models are developed for bare soil surfaces, water surfaces, short vegetation fields such as rice fields and grass field, other agriculture areas, and forest areas. Then, the SAR images are generated from the digital elevation model(DEM) and digital terrain map. The DTM includes ten parameters, such as soil moisture, surface roughness, canopy height, leaf width, leaf length, leaf density, branch length, branch density, trunk length, and trunk density, if applicable. The scattering models are verified with measurements, and applied to generate an SAR image for an area.

  • The construction supervisors of the public companies are usually responsible for process management, quality management, safety management, and many other various tasks that occur during construction project. Public companies such as Korea Highway Corporation have developed a framework and manual for management and supervision of construction projects. But, there has been the change of business environment such as increase of private investment project and the introduce of construction management system recently. It has been necessary for construction supervisor to streamline the current project management system in the owner's aspect in order to cope with the expected new challenges. Accordingly, this research has been investigated and analyzed the operation system between Korean supervisor and foreign supervisor in their public corporation. This research has suggested the advanced project management in their public corporation. Especially, this study has proposed the construction management manual for supervisors such as inspectors training, supervisors construction manual, and supervisors training road map.

  • This study evaluates landslide susceptibility using statistical analysis by SVM (support vector machine) and the illite index of clay minerals extracted from ASTER(advanced spaceborne thermal emission and reflection radiometer) imagery which can be use to create mineralogical mapping. Landslide locations in the study area were identified from aerial photographs and field surveys. A GIS spatial database was compiled containing topographic maps (slope, aspect, curvature, distance to stream, and distance to road), maps of soil properties (thickness, material, topography, and drainage), maps of timber properties (diameter, age, and density), and an ASTER satellite imagery (illite index). The landslide susceptibility map was constructed through factor correlation using SVM to analyze the spatial database. Comparison of area under the curve values showed that using the illite index model provided landslide susceptibility maps that were 76.46% accurate, which compared favorably with 74.09% accuracy achieved without them.

  • In order to better quantify the contribution from nonroad sources to emission inventories, it is important to understand not only the emissions rates of these engines but also activity patterns that can be used to accurately portray their in-use operation. To date, however, very little information is available on the actual activity patterns of nonroad equipment. In this study, a total of 18 pieces of nonroad equipment were instrumented with collected data including intake manifold air pressure (MAP), exhaust temperature and, on a subset of vehicles, engine rpm and throttle position. The equipment included backhoes, compactors, dozers, motor graders, loaders and scrappers used in applications such as landfilling, street maintenance and general roadwork. The activity patterns varied considerably depending on the type of equipment and the application. Daily equipment operating time ranged from less than 30 minutes to more than 8 hours, with landfill equipment having the highest daily use. The number of engine starts per day ranged from 3-11 lover the fleet with an average of 5 starts per day. The average percent idle time for the fleet was approximately $25\%$ with a range from 11 to $65\%$ for individual pieces of equipment. Duty cycles based on exhaust temperature/throttle position profiles were also developed for two graders and one dozer.
