This research aims to compare and analyze changes in local physical environmental factors affecting mental health before and after the occurrence of COVID-19. The research question is: "Did the influence of environmental factors affecting mental health change after the emergence of the COVID-19 pandemic?" To examine the research question, the study considered the year 2019, right before COVID-19, and the year 2020, the year when COVID-19 occurred, as the temporal scope of the research. For the empirical analysis, we used multilevel logistic analysis was conducted using data from the Community Health Survey for each year and the National Statistical Office (KOSIS). The results can be summarized as follows: After the occurrence of COVID-19, physical environmental factors showed stronger associations with mental health compared to before the emergence of COVID-19. Specifically, it was found that park area per thousand people and the proportion of pedestrian-only road areas were further associated with a decrease in depression. Based on these findings, this study suggests the need for improving and constructing the physical environment in local communities for preventing mental health issues during disaster situations such as COVID-19.
The purpose of this investigation is to point out the physical fixation and stability of banking slopes of forest roads by invasion of trees. We investigated the situations of sediment discharge and coverage of invaded trees at banking slopes of forest roads. The coverage of invaded trees were calculated from crown injection based on the stable slope and was compared with length of slope, slope gradient, and passage years after construction of forest road. 1. We investigated on the sediment discharge and the invasion of trees at banking slopes, which were actually observed 8 forest roads of Kyonggi-Do and Kangwon-Do. 2. There was no physical stability of the banking slope due to the surface erosion and slope failure, but the tree invasions were active at the stable plots. 3. The length of slope was constructed to 4.0m to 61.0m and recent forest road was mainly constructed to the slopes longer than 30m. There was strong regional effect between the length of slope and the coverage of invaded trees and the above two factors were inversely proportional to each other. 4. There was no significant relationship between the slope gradient and the coverage of invaded trees and the slope constructed within the angle of repose showed the relatively high coverage of invaded trees. 5. There was no significant relationship between the passage years and the coverage of invaded trees in the same investigative region after the construction of forest road. But there was a gradually increasing relationship of tree invasion between above two factors. However, there was some limitation to expect the invasion of the tree species. 6. In the light of the above results, we suggest that the construction of forest road may need foundation work and vegetation work simultaneously for the physical stability to make the environment of tree plantation and that the reasonable increase of construction cost of forest road may be prior to the other factors.

In this study, pilot experiments were conducted by setting operation conditions to analyze characteristics of emission for air pollutant from small two-stroke engines. Emission factors of the measured concentration of pollutant were compared with EEA. Emission factor of CO analyzed by experiments - concentration, flow rate, fuel consumption, etc.- was estimated at 816,011 g-CO/ton-fuel in average. It was confirmed that more than 80% of the fuel consumption is discharged to the Carbon Monoxide, and that as the engine load becomes higher, emission factor of CO increases in the form of log function. The average emission factor of $NO_x$ and $PM_{10}$ was $3,801g-NO_x/ton-fuel$ and $3,730g-PM_{10}/ton-fue$l each. The deviation was not large by comparing the fuel-based emission factor of EEA and the result of this study. Since considerable pollutants are expected to be discharged from the small two-stroke engines, continuous research and support of the policy is required.

SAFRS is the system designed to reproduce the harmonic sound into the space according to the environmental factors. Here the harmonic sound means the sound which judged by the subjective tests, and the methods were suggested in the former studies. In this research, SAFRS was applied into the Square of D University to evaluate and verify the effectiveness of the system and a few evaluations were carried out as follows; 1) sound perception, frequency, volume and harmony with the space, 2) images of the square and acoustic environment and 3) acoustic environment with existing sounds, fountain sound, produced sound by SAFRS, and both of them respectively. The results can be summarized as follows; 1) According to the evaluation on acoustic environment, no relationships were shown between the cognition of sounds produced by SAFRS and the frequency or volume, but inverse proportion was shown between the volume and special harmony. 2) As the result of image evaluation. the relationship between space and sound image was shown proportional only except the evaluation on main road at night time, it means that the sound proposal with the visual contents matching with the sounds would be more effective than the proposal of sound only. 3) Results of evaluation on acoustic environment showed that the cognition effect at night time was shown higher than that of day time when only the acoustic element was given and the effect was increased when the visual elements matches with the acoustic elements if both of them were given. It confirmed the harmony between visual and acoustic elements was very important.
In this study, we coupled a computation fluid dynamics (CFD) model to the local data assimilation and prediction system (LDAPS), a current operational numerical weather prediction model of the Korea Meteorological Administration. We investigated the characteristics of fine particulate matter (PM2.5) distributions in a building-congested district. To analyze the effects of road emission on the PM2.5 concentrations, we calculated road emissions based on the monthly, daily, and hourly emission factors and the total amount of PM2.5 emissions established from the Clean Air Policy Support System (CAPSS) of the Ministry of Environment. We validated the simulated PM2.5 concentrations against those measured at the PKNU-AQ Sensor stations. In the cases of no road emission, the LDAPS-CFD model underestimated the PM2.5 concentrations measured at the PKNU-AQ Sensor stations. The LDAPS-CFD model improved the PM2.5 concentration predictions by considering road emission. At 07 and 19 LST on 22 June 2020, the southerly wind was dominant at the target area. The PM2.5 distribution at 07 LST were similar to that at 19 LST. The simulated PM2.5 concentrations were significantly affected by the road emissions at the roadside but not significantly at the building roof. In the road-emission case, the PM2.5 concentration was high at the north (wind speeds were weak) and west roads (a long street canyon). The PM2.5 concentration was low in the east road where the building density was relatively low.

Since the first diesel passenger car hit the local road in late 2005, the share of diesel cars is growing significantly; possibly up to the level as in the western Europe. In this study, the effects of introduction of diesel passenger cars on the ventilation rate and facility capacity are analyzed for the three individual cases with different basic exhaust rate based on the vehicle age, the vehicle class percentage and the smoke exhaust rate. The target tunnel for this comparative study is a typical 2 km-long 2-lane highway tunnel. Case 1 assuming the current local design standards and the diesel vehicles comprising 40% of the total passenger cars on the road required more ventilation rate and facility capacity than in the case only with the current standards. Case 2 which is the real tunnel currently in the designing stage taking into account the vehicle age but ignoring the diesel vehicle ratio, and Case 3 on the contrary considering the both factors show similar level of ventilation characteristics as EURO-3 emission regulation. Application of the emission standard set by the Ministry of Environment for newly manufactured vehicles in the current local tunnel design standard indicates higher requirements than for EURO-2 regulation, whereas the emission standard came into effect in 2006 results in the ventilation characteristics similar to EURO-4. This study aims at providing fundamental information for assessing the basic emission rate and determining the optimal ventilation rate and facility capacity considering the growing percentage of diesel cars and gradually decreasing level of smoke emission forced by the relevant laws.
The objectives of this research were to predict land-use/land-cover change at the Sakaerat Environmental Research Station (SERS) and to analyze its consequences on the distribution for Black-crested Bulbul (Pycnonotus melanicterus), which is a popular species for bird-watching activity. The Dyna-CLUE model was used to determine land-use allocation between 2008 and 2020 under two scenarios. Trend scenario was a continuation of recent land-use change (2002-2008), while the integrated land-use management scenario aimed to protect 45% of study area under intact forest, rehabilitated forest and reforestation for renewable energy. The maximum entropy model (Maxent), Geographic Information System (GIS) and FRAGSTATS package were used to predict bird occurrence and assess landscape fragmentation indices, respectively. The results revealed that parts of secondary growth, agriculture areas and dry dipterocarp forest close to road networks would be converted to other land use classes, especially eucalyptus plantation. Distance to dry evergreen forest, distance to secondary growth and distance to road were important factors for Black-crested Bulbul distribution because this species prefers to inhabit ecotones between dense forest and open woodland. The predicted for occurrence of Black-crested Bulbul in 2008 covers an area of 3,802 ha and relatively reduces to 3,342 ha in 2020 for trend scenario and to 3,627 ha for integrated-land use management scenario. However, intact habitats would be severely fragmented, which can be noticed by total habitat area, largest patch index and total core area indices, especially under the trend scenario. These consequences are likely to diminish the recreation and education values of the SERS to the public.
This paper proposes an Fuzzy-based Risk Reasoning Driving Strategy on VANET. Its first reasoning phase consists of a WC_risk reasoning that reasons the risk by using limited road factors such as current weather, density, accident, and construction, a DR_risk reasoning that reasons the risk by combining the driving resistance with the weight value suitable for the environment of highways and national roads, a DS_risk reasoning that judges the collision risk by using the travel direction, speed. and distance of vehicles and pedestrians, and a Total_risk reasoning that computes a final risk by using the three above-mentioned reasoning. Its second speed reduction proposal phase decides the reduction ratio according to the result of Total_risk and the reduction ratio by comparing the regulation speed of road to current vehicle's speed. Its third risk notification phase works in case current driving speed exceeds regulation speed or in case the Total_risk is higher than AV(Average Value). The Risk Notification Phase informs rear vehicles or pedestrians around of a risk according to drivers's response. If drivers use a brake according to the proposed speed reduction, the precedent vehicles transfers Risk Notification Messages to rear vehicles. If they don't use a brake, a current driving vehicle transfers a Risk Message to pedestrians. Therefore, this paper not only prevents collision accident beforehand by reasoning the risk happening to pedestrians and vehicles but also decreases the loss of various resources by reducing traffic jam.
PURPOSES : The noise, which is typically generated by fast moving vehicles, can be intercepted by installing a noise barrier with a soundproof panel. However, reflections from the panels cause secondary noise, and hence lower the effectiveness of the panels. In this study, the reduction of reflection noise by considering the shape, especially zigzag one, of the soundproof panel have been evaluated. METHODS : The simulation model used in this study was Nord2000, which simulates real-road situations effectively. Based on the simulation results, the joining angle of $133^{\circ}$ with the pattern width (a) equal to 2 m and the projection height (b) equal to 0.5 m was adapted in the zigzag shape as the best profit designing factors. RESULTS: The measuring results at middle height, 15 m showed reduction at all points except the point with average -1.6 dB. At a greater height of 30 m, 2 points showed reduction. A real-sized facility was constructed to investigate the reflected sound from a zigzag shaped panel up to the height of 5 m. CONCLUSIONS: The reduction effects were detected in all the receive points in the range of 2-6 m distances and 1-5 m heights comparing the plane panel. Compared to plane panel, the noises are reduced at an average of 2.4 dBA.
PURPOSES : The purpose of this system (Rear Lighting System) is to provide illumination for the driver to operate the commercial vehicle safely after dark in highway, to increase the conspicuity of the vehicle, and especially be suggesting the finest observable improvement method, depending on color and pattern of rear lighting system of truck for midnight highway traffic. METHODS : Rear lightning system as an improving way for forward commercial vehicles lighting the securing sight from human factors and the surrounding environment in midnight driving. For this one, basic materials were collected from the data analysis about many types of problems, and filed investigation for establishing Driving Simulator. also taking statistic test to human volunteers after finding recognizable distance of them. RESULTS : As a result, color with the highest visuality is amber followed by green-red-blue as in order for all road types. Especially almost no difference is found between red and green, also when the light is turn off, recognizable distances is wide difference compared to turn on the light. One more thing about study per pattern, upper and entire lighting have similar recognizable distances, but under lighting shows short distance with difficulty securing sight from medians. And straight section shows similar recognizable distances. By finding visuality improvement method depending on color and pattern of supplement taillight, it is expected to suggest quantitative judgement standard for introducing regulation and improvement of supplement taillight. CONCLUSIONS : Night time vehicle conspicuity to the rear is provided by rear position lamps. this study is showed that the color of light ramp is not important to be safe driving, most important is to turn on the light, recognizable distances is big different compared to turn off the rear light, so when the drivng dark in highway, have to turn on the light for reducing risk.
