This paper suggest hysteretic buck converter using thermistor that can improve output ripple voltage according to temperature to improve. In case of high temperature where circuit is sensitive, it decides two comparable voltages high. And, in case of non-high temperature where circuit is stable, it decides two comparable voltages low, then it minimizes output ripple voltage. simulation result what is included in this paper describe that output ripple voltage is reduced more than 30mV by using suggested converter, and load regulation was 0.011mV/mA. Suggested circuit is suitable to power managing circuit that operate digital circuit requiring fast response and low power.
This paper presents a torque ripple reduction method of direct torque control (DTC) using fuzzy controller with optimal selection strategy of voltage vectors in a five-phase induction motor. The conventional DTC method has some drawbacks. First, switching frequency changes according to the hysteresis bands and motor's speed. Second, the torque ripple is rapidly increased in long control period. In order to solve these problems, some/most papers have proposed torque ripple reduction methods by using the optimal duty ratio of the non-zero voltage vector. However, these methods are complicated in accordance with the parameter. If this drawback is eliminated, the torque ripple can be reduced compared with conventional method. In addition, the DTC can be simply controlled without the use of the parameter. Therefore, the proposed algorithm is changing the voltage vector insertion time by using the designed fuzzy controller. Also, the optimized voltage vector selection method is used in accordance with the torque error. Simulation and experimental results show effectiveness of the proposed control algorithm.

Multiple output converters can be utilized when various output voltages are required in applications. Recently, one of the multiple output converters called fly-buck has been proposed, and has attracted attention due to the advantage that multiple output can be easily obtained with a simple structure. When constant on-time (COT) control is applied, the output ripple voltage must be treated carefully for control stability and voltage regulation characteristics in consideration of the inherent energy transfer characteristics of the fly-buck converter. This study analyzes the operation principle of the fly-buck converter with a ripple generation network and presents the design guideline for the improved output voltage regulation. Validity of the analysis and design guideline is verified using a 5 W prototype of the COT controlled fly-buck converter with a ripple generation network for telecommunication auxiliary power supply.
This paper presents an improved switching selection method for the direct torque control (DTC) of five-phase induction motors (IMs). The proposed method is conducted using optimal switching selection. A five-phase inverter has 32 voltage vectors which are divided into 30 nonzero voltage vectors and two zero voltage vectors. The magnitudes of the voltage vectors consist of large, medium, and small voltage vectors. In addition, these vectors are related to the torque response and torque ripple. When a large voltage vector is selected in a drive system, the torque response time decreases with an increased torque ripple. On the other hand, when a small voltage vector is selected, the torque response time and torque ripple increase. As a result, this paper proposes an optimal voltage vector selection method for improved DTC of a five-phase induction machine depending on the situation. Simulation and experimental results verify the effectiveness of the proposed control algorithm.

This paper proposes two modified Z-source inverter topologies, namely an embedded L-Z-source inverter (EL-ZSI) and a coupled inductor L-Z source inverter (CL-ZSI). The proposed topologies offer a high voltage gain with a reduced passive component count and reduction in source current ripple when compared to conventional ZSI topologies. Additionally, they prevent overshoot in the dc-link voltage by suppressing heavy inrush currents. This feature reduces the transition time to reach the peak value of the dc-link voltage, and reduces the risk of component failure and overrating due to the inrush current. EL-ZSI and CL-ZSI possess all of the inherent advantages of the conventional L-ZSI topology while eliminating its drawbacks. To verify the effectiveness of the proposed topologies, MATLAB/Simulink models and scaled down laboratory prototypes were constructed. Experiments were performed at a low shoot through duty ratio of 0.1 and a modulation index as high as 0.9 to obtain a peak dc-link voltage of 53 V. This paper demonstrates the superiority of the proposed topologies over conventional ZSI topologies through a detailed comparative analysis. Moreover, experimental results verify that the proposed topologies would be advantageous for renewable energy source applications since they provide voltage gain enhancement, inrush current, dc-link voltage overshoot suppression and a reduction of the peak to peak source current ripple.

In space qualified DC-DC converters, optimization of the following electrical characteristics is of greater interest in comparison with other specifications; power loss/efficiency, output voltage ripple and volume/weight. The main goal of this paper is to present an appropriate solution for optimizing the above mentioned characteristics. For this purpose, a comprehensive power loss model of a DC-DC converter is fully developed. Proper models are also demonstrated for assessment of the output voltage ripple and the utilized transformer volume as the bulkiest component in a DC-DC converter. In order to provide a test bed for evaluation of the proposed models, a 50W push-pull DC-DC converter is designed and implemented. Finally, a novel cost function with three assigned weight functions is proposed in order to have a trade-off among the power loss, the output voltage ripple and the utilized transformer volume of the converter. The cost function is optimized for applications in which volume has the highest priority in comparison with power loss and ripple. The optimization results show that the transformer volume can be decreased by up to 51% and this result is verified by experimental results. The developed models and algorithms in this paper can be used for other DC-DC converter topologies with some minor modifications.

This paper presents a DC link voltage control method to reduce the ripple current and the switching loss in the sinusoidal current drive system for the wide-speed range PMSM. The DC link voltage of the three phase inverter in the sinusoidal current drive system is designed by the back-EMF voltage at maximum speed of the PMSM. In general, the drive systems have used the constant DC link voltage without reference to the motor speed. The current ripple causes hysteresis loss and makes noise. In addition, the switching loss on the inverter increases in proportion to the rise in the DC link voltage. In this paper, we propose the variable DC link voltage control method to reduce the current ripple in the PMSM drive system. We show reduction effect of the current repple and the switching loss through simulation results.

In recent, complex SVPWM (Space Vector PWM) algorithm can be easily implemented by high performance microprocessor and DSP. Various SVPWM techniques are widely studied due to the advantages of low harmonic distortion and high use ratio of D.C. link voltage. Most of various studies for improving of VS-PWM inverter performance are concentrated about switching pattern and zero pulse pattern split algorithms. However, dc link voltage that is determined at rated load and speed conditions is not proper in the low speed and under rated load. In this paper, analysis of current ripple with digitally implemented SVPWM inverter is introduced according to link voltage. The optimal link voltage in the designed inverter system and load condition is provided in order to suppress output voltage error and current ripple. As remaining the effective voltage vector interval per sampling period sufficiently, additional voltage error and current ripple are suppressed. The proposed algorithm is verified through digital simulation and experimental results.
This paper presents a current control strategy to reduce torque ripple of Brushless DC Motor in commutation period with PWM pattern. The torque ripple is mainly caused by the inequality in the rate of change between rising current and decaying one during commutation. And also it is influenced by the shape of real back EMF. Therefore, in the proposed control strategy, considering real back EMF a compensation voltage is generated to equalize the rate of change in these commutating currents. And then, by providing the compensation voltage in commutation period with PWM pattern, the torque ripple can be reduced. The simulation and experimental results verify that the proposed method can reduce the torque and the current ripples significantly.

This paper proposes a torque control method of permanent magnet synchronous motor, which has small torque ripple. The proposed control method is using the finite control set-model predictive control(FCS-MPC) strategy. An optimal input voltage vector minimizing a cost function is chosen among 6 passible active input voltage vectors following the FCS-MPC strategy. Then, a modulation factor for the optimal input voltage vector is computed to minimize the torque ripple. Thus, the proposed control method yields fast torque response and small torque ripple. The efficacy of the proposed method was verified through simulation and experiment.
