유기 반추동물 전용 수입산 유기사료 및 국내산 유기 부산물의 사료적 가치 평가 (Nutritional Evaluation of Imported Organic Feeds and Locally Produced Agricultural By-products for Organic Ruminant Farming)

  • This study was conducted to evaluate the nutritional value of locally produced organic agricultural by-products to substitute imported organic feeds for organic ruminant farming. Imported organic feeds (corn grain, soybean meal, soybean seed, oat grain, barley grain, wheat grain, buckwheat, sunflower seed meal) and byproducts (rice bran, grape seed meal, rice straw, soybean hull, soybean curd, rice hull, green kernel rice, and crushed rice grain) were analyzed for chemical composition and NDF, ADF, mineral, and amino acid contents and anti-nutritional factors. Dry matter, NDF and ADF contents in organic feeds were higher than those in conventional feeds. Especially, the 9.65% fat content of organic soybean meal was 6 times higher than the 1.95% fat content of conventional soybean meal. Fat contents of rice bran, grape seed meal, green kernel rice, and crushed rice grain were 25.66, 6.09, 3.57 and 1.59%, respectively. Protein contents of soybean hull and soybean curd were 14.68 and 19.87%, respectively, which are highest among organic by-products. Levels of aflatoxin in all feeds were below the safety level. Therefore, organic rice bran, green kernel rice and crushed rice as energy source, and soybean hull and soybean curd as protein source could partial replace imported feeds for organic ruminant farming.

Changes in the Grain Quality of Rice with Respect to the Duration of Lodging Time

  • The specific objective of this study was to determine the changes in grain quality of lodged rice with respect to the duration of lodging time and compare the changes with those of unlodged one. The rice 'Janganbyeo' was cultivated and half of paddy field was totally lodged at 30 days after heading. Both lodged paddy and unlodged paddy were harvested at intervals and used for the grain quality determination. The lodged rice did not show any remarkable changes in grain quality until the $4^{th}$ day of lodging for rough rice and until the $2^{nd}$ or the $4^{th}$ day of lodging for brown rice and white rice. The overall grain quality of lodged rice could be kept for 2 to 4 days of lodging.

  • In the midst of the advancement of global economic trade restrictions, the internationalization of domestic agriculture, which has occurred at a time of crisis in the industry, has presented an opportunity for Korea's agricultural products to be exported overseas. In particular, from 2015, after favorable outlooks for Korean rice, it is expected that the domestic agricultural industry is in a strong position to play a major role in export markets. Due to this, among existing measures targeting the import of rice, increasing domestic measures to boost rice exports and establish an effective operating plan are being pursued. However, until now, appropriate measures targeting domestic rice markets have not been found. In addition, domestic grain piers, which are currently used exclusively for the import of grain, do not have sufficient capacity to handle export operations. Therefore this paper will examine the current status of domestic grain piers, and will suggest a operating plan in grain terminal for the export of grain in order to successfully bring domestically produced rice to foreign markets. The conclusions drawn from this paper are designed to be used as a basic application for the operational plan of grain piers for the purpose of increasing domestic rice exports.

  • Rice grain has several styles, brown rice, white one, semi-white one, sprout one, etc. All of them are utilized as gohan(=boiled grain) in the dietary life. Among them, the sprout rice, recently developed on the industrial level, has been found to be so conspicuous for general functions in food science and for healthy functions in dietary life that would be worth to characteristically be called 'super rice'. Thus, the super rice should widely be promoted for production and consumption in the world.

Association of Duration and Rate of Grain Filling with Grain Yield in Temperate Japonica Rice (Oryza sativa L.)

  • Grain filling is a crucial factor that determines grain yield in crops since it is the final process directly associated with crops' yield performance. Grain filling process can be characterized by the interaction of rate and duration of grain filling. This study was conducted, using 16 temperate japonica rice genotypes, with aims to (1) seek variations in grain filling duration and rate on area basis, (2) compare the contribution of grain filling duration and rate to grain yield, and (3) examine the influence of temperature and solar radiation for effective grain filling on grain yield in relation to grain filling duration and rate. Grain filling rate and duration exhibited highly significant variations in the ranges of $20.7{\sim}46.3\;g\;m^{-2}d^{-1}\;and\;11.2{\sim}35.5$ days, respectively, depending on rice genotypes. Grain yield on unit area basis was associated positively with grain filling duration but negatively with grain filling rate. Grain filling rate and duration were negatively correlated with each other. Final grain weight increased linearly with the rise in both cumulative mean temperature and cumulative solar radiation for effective grain filling. Higher cumulative mean temperature and cumulative solar radiation for effective grain filling were the results of longer grain filling duration, but not necessarily higher daily mean temperature and daily solar radiation for effective grain filling. Grain filling rate demonstrated an increasing tendency with the rise in daily mean temperature for effective grain filling but their relationship was not obviously clear. It was concluded that grain filling duration, which influenced cumulative mean temperature and cumulative solar radiation for effective grain filling, was the main factor that determined grain yield on unit area basis in temperate Japonica rice.

  • 우리나라 벼 재배품종들의 천립중을 증대시켜 단위면적당 수량능력의 향상을 위한 기초자료를 얻고자 수집된 몇가지 대립종들의 수량성 및 주요특성을 소개하고자 시험한 결과 1. 벼알의 무게와 벼알의 길이, 너비, 두께는 유의한 정(+)의 상관을 보였으며 벼 알의 길이와 모양은 정(+)의 상관(r=0.5707 ${\ast}\;{\ast}$)을 보였다. 2. 우러나라 재배품종의 천립중보다 무거온 14대립종들의 천립중과 수당입수, 주당수수, 등숙비율, 총건물중, 정조중, 수확지수간에는 부(-)의 상관을 보였으나 유의성은 인정되지 않았다. 3. 이들 대립종의 천립중과 생육일수와는 부(-)의 상관을 보였으나 유의성은 인정되지 않았다. 4. 천립중이 상이한 20품종의 천립중과 심복백정도간에는 정(+)의 높은 유의 상관(r =0.8477${\ast}\;{\ast}$)이 인정되었다.

Correlations of Rice Grain Yields to Radiometric Estimates of Canopy Biomass as a Function of Growth Stage, : Hand-Held Radiometric Measurements of Two of the Thematic Mapper's Spectral Bands Indicate that the Forecasting of Rice Grain Yields is Feasible at Early to Mid Canopy Development Stages

  • Considerable experience has been reported on the use of spectral data to measure the canopy biomass of dryland grain crops and the use of these estimates to forecast subsequent grain yield. These basic procedures were retested to assess the use of the general process to forecasting grain yield for paddy rice. The use of the ratio of a multiband radiometer simulation of Thematic Mapper band 4(.76 to .90 .mu.m) divided by band 3 (.63 to .69 .mu.m) was tested to estimate the canopy biomass of paddy rice as a function of the stage of development of the rice. The correlation was found to be greatest (R = .94) at panicle differentiation about midway through the development cycle of the rice canopy. The use of this ratio of two spectral bands as a surrogate for canopy biomass was then tested for its correlation against final grain yield. These spectral estimates of canopy biomass produced the highest correlations with final grain yield (R = .87) when measured at the canopy development stages of panicle differentiation and heading. The impact of varying the amounts of supplemental nitrogen on the use of spectral measuremants of canopy biomass to estimate grain yield was also determined. The effect of the development of a significant amount of weed biomass in the rice canopy was also clearly detected.

  • 등숙기 일조부족이 수량 및 수량구성형질, 쌀의 이화학적 특성 및 식미치에 미치는 영향을 분석하고자 자연광을 대비하여 35%, 55% 차광 처리한 결과는 다음과 같다. 1. 등숙기 차광처리에 의해 미품, 호품, 신동진의 등숙률, 현미천립중, 쌀 수량은 감소하였고 차광정도가 클수록 높은 감소율을 보였다. 2. 차광처리시 백미 단백질 함량은 증가하였고 35% 차광보다 55% 차광에서 높았으며, 미품이 호품과 신동진에 비해 단백질 함량의 변화가 적었다. 3. 차광처리시 아밀로스 함량 변화는 없었으나 식미치는 차광정도가 높을수록 감소하였고 미품이 신동진과 호품에 비해 변화가 적었다. 4. 차광에 의해 최고점도, 최저점도, 최종점도 및 강화점도는 낮아지고 호화온도와 치반점도는 높았다.

High-Performance Liquid Chromatographic Determination of Tricyclazole Residues in Rice Grain, Rice Straw, and Soil

  • An analytical method was developed to determine tricyclazole residues in rice grain, straw, and soil using high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) with ultraviolet absorption detection. Tricyclazole was extracted with methanol from moist rice grain, straw, and soil samples. n-Hexane washing was employed to remove nonpolar co-extractives during liquid-liquid partition. Tricyclazole was then extracted with dichloromethane from alkaline aqueous phase, while acidic interferences remained in the phase. Dichloromethane extract was further purified by silica gel column chromatography prior to HPLC determination. Reverse-phase HPLC using an octadecylsilyl column was successfully applied to separate and quantitate the tricyclazole residue in sample extracts monitored at ${\lambda}_{max}$ 225nm. Recoveries from fortified samples averaged $95.5{\pm}3.0%\;(n=6),\;87.5{\pm}20.%\;(n=6),\;and\;84.3{\pm}2.8%$ (n=12) for rice grain, straw, and soil, respectively. Detection limit of the method was 0.02 mg/kg for rice grain and soil samples while 0.05 mg/kg for rice straw samples. The proposed method was reproducible and sensitive enough to evaluate the safety of tricyclazole residues in rice grain, straw, and soil.

종실특성에 따라 분류한 벼 이형주군의 Esterase 동위효소 형태변이 및 분리양상 (Esterase Isozyme Patterns of Rice-off Ope Groups Classified by Grain Characteristics)

  • 종실 등의 특성을 기준으로 분류한 7가지 벼 이형주군의 변이와 분리양상은 다음과 같다. 1. Esterase 동위효소 분석에서 장립적미군은 1과 3 esterase isozyme zymogram(EIZ), 장립메성군은 1, 3 및 7 EIZ로 분류할 수 있었다. 2. 극만생 불임군은 EIZ가 1, 2, 1+2, 5, 6, 5+6, 7, 8, 7+8 및 12로 다양하게 분리되었다. 3. EIZ가 1인 장립적미군이 3 EIZ인 장립적미군에 비해 간장이 길고 현미의 장폭비가 낮았다. 4. EIZ가 3인 장립메성군은 1이나 7 EIZ인 장립메성군에 비해 간장이 길고 수장이 짧고 분얼수가 많고 현미의 장폭비가 낮으며 수당 립수가 적었다.
