  • Fungal arthritis is a rare joint infection that occurs in immunosuppressant patient, intravenous drug abuser and long term antibiotics user, and is especially rare in a healthy adult. Two case reports of fungal arthritis have been demonstrated in the country, but those in healthy adults have not been reported yet. Here, we experienced an antifungal treatment following successful arthroscopic debridement of fungal arthritis with a popliteal cyst in a healthy adult who got repetitive intraarticular steroid injections and report the case with review of relevant literatures. Surgeons should consider the possibility of fungal arthritis although it is rare and demonstrates nonspecific clinical features.

  • This study examines the development of knitwear design using environmentally friendly Hanji (Korean traditional handmade paper) yarn. While its environmentally friendly features make Hanji yarn suitable for eco-fashion design, Hanji products, generally produced in limited quantities, are highly unlikely to become a commercial success due to their high prices. Therefore, a new technology allowing the production of low-cost Hanji yarn is in high demand, as is its application across multiple products in addition to knitwear. The significance of this study lies in that it suggests ways to design knitwear which reflect the versatility of modern eco-fashion to meet the needs of consumers. This study presents knitwear designs, specifically party wear and everyday fashion, that utilize the advantages of Hanji yarn and represent 2013 S/S color trends. Two outfits will be featured - one for women in their 20s and 30s and the other for women in their 30s and 40s. Also, this paper includes a literature review and an accounting of online research on Hanji yarn and eco-fashion designs.

  • Amelobalstic fibroma is a rare true mixed tumor of odontogenic origin with both mesenchymal and ectodermal components. It usually appears in the mandible and in the posterior segments of young patients without gender predilection, and sometimes is associated with an impacted tooth. It is a benign slow growing tumor that is less infiltrative than an ameloblastoma but tends to expand bone. Surgical treatment with excision followed by curettage seems to be the most appropriate therapeutic option. The objective of this presentation is to report a case of ameloblastic fibroma of the mandible body in a 14-year-old woman, to make a brief review of the literature about its differential diagnosis and its clinical and histologic features and the treatment.

  • In recent years, various studies about 'Biomorphic design' have been conducted and accelerated among many recent design concepts and methodology. Therefore, this study classifies the types of biomorphic fashion design based on literature review, and select biomorphic fashion designs in the latest fashion designer's collection. This study aimed to determine the types and characteristics of the biomorphic design in fashion design, and analyze the characteristics and the interpreted intrinsic meanings through Greimas Semiotic rectangle model based on the Binary-Opposition of meaning and Isotophy. As the result of analysis, biomorphic designs in fashion are classified as three types: 'representational imitation of form', 'technical imitation of functional features', and 'imitation of symbolic attribute'. 'Representational imitation of form' was derived from an organic design through atypical forms, repetition and extension of figurative forms of nature, and 'the functionalities of the nature' are interpreted as the feature to maintain the condition of the life itself and to attempt to regulate the status of self-autonomy. Lastly, 'the imitation of symbolic attributes' is designing the process of creation, growth, expansion and destruction from circulation of nature.

  • Nurses in a children's hospital have to meet a special condition with their younger patients who need continuous supervision and cares. The planning of the ward where the nurse as well as the patient and his/her caregivers stay all day long should cover all the users need. This study focused on the nurse's need for the ward in children's hospital. The nurse stay longer than any users in hospital and their treatment have to be based on deep understanding of their patients. The survey research followed the literature review on the children's hospital and the nurses' task and behavior. 119 nurses answered the structural questionnaire and their answers were analyzed using the statistical process such as basic descriptive statistics, ANOVA, and actor analysis. Results and conclusions are as follows. (1) The subjects least satisfied with the accessibility for the children and the nature-and child-friendly design features among physical environment design factors of the hospital. (2) The Subject regarded the patients' room to a private place of the patients and their caregivers not to the work places. (3) The design factors of the nursing station were classified into four: the functionality-, the privacy-, the supervision-and the restfulness-factor. The functionality and supervision factor were highly required as a workplace, the privacy factor between the patients, their caregivers and subject were also represented high score, but the restfulness factor were least required.

  • Population aging has been one of the serious problems in Korea. Aging can affect social and economic features including energy consumption. This paper analyzed how population aging makes an effect on residential electricity demand. Yearly data from 1965 to 2010 were collected. The long and short-run demands for residential electricity were estimated with respect to Korean aging index. The results show that population aging reduces residential electricity demands in the short run significantly, but the effect decreases in the long run. However, population aging still negatively affects residential electricity consumption in long run. If population keep aging as Korean government expected, then the residential electricity demand per capita will grow less than 3%.

  • Purpose - The purpose of this paper is to elucidate the limelight question 'why India should open arms for Islamic banking?'. Research design, data, and methodology - The paper is theoretical and conceptual in nature and provides results based on significant literature review. Results - This paper will start with the discussion why Islamic name does not make it only for Muslims?, then its features and how it can improve India's current economic situation. Also this study will analyze the ability of Islamic finance to act as Micro-finance tool by including people who does not participate in economic activities. This paper also concludes that why religious issue should be sidelined in order to accept Islamic finance for empowerment of Muslim and non-Muslim minorities which live in abject poor conditions. Conclusions - Islamic finance has lot of merits which cannot be ignored by only looking at the name and believing that it is only for Muslims. Indian economic system needs a financial system which will work for welfare and not for profit to help poor communities in coming out of poverty. Interest free loans and micro-finance tools are the only way to help below poverty line population to raise their income level.

  • This study deals with a general review of $Gar\acute{i}funa$ and Patois, creole languages which developed out of the sociohistorical situation of the last centuries and are mainly spoken in the West Indies and Carribean Coasts. In this paper, I present some notes and ideas on the linguistic developments and features of these languages. Especially I describe their function connected with a variety of social circumstances and their phonetical/phonological changes from the base languages. This is a result of fieldwork conducted in Honduras, Belize, Cuba and Mexico, from January 1996 to February 1998, using some surveys and collecting words from different materials and texts. And I hope this paper will contribute to research in 'mixed' languages as well as to historical linguists. I am very grateful to Mr. Mauricio $Tom\acute{a}s$, the only uriversity student in $Traves\acute{i}a$, a small town in nothern Honduras and to Mr. Carlos Marcos, a medical student who is from a Haitian family in Santiago de Cuba. Without their cooperation, I couldn't have conducted this research.

  • Brunner's glands of the duodenum rarely develop proliferative lesions, occasionally in association with gastric hyperchlorhydria or chronic pancreatitis. The clinical presentation can vary from vague upper abdominal symptoms with dyspepsia and nausea to diarrhea, jaundice, obstruction and gastrointestinal bleeding. The diagnosis is usually made by radiological studies followed by upper endoscopy which can also provide definitive treatment. At times surgery is necessary for adequate removal of these lesions, as in the case herein described.

  • Fresh pork belly is a highly popular meat in South Korea, accounting for 59 % of the approximately 100 g of meat per capita that is consumed daily. Fresh pork belly offers not only high-quality protein from the lean cuts but also substantial micronutrients including fat-soluble vitamins and minerals. However, fresh pork belly generally consists of about 30 % fat, with saturated fatty acids representing half of this value. Excessive consumption of saturated fatty acids increases total cholesterol, low-density lipoprotein-cholesterol, and triglycerides while decreasing high-density lipoprotein-cholesterol, raising concerns about an increased risk of hyperlipidemia, followed by cardiovascular diseases. In this review, we discuss the consumption and production trends in South Korea, the general characteristics, and health issues related to fresh pork belly to delineate the features of pork production and consumer welfare.
