  • Glassy cell carcinoma is an unusual neoplasm of the uterine cervix that accounts for $1{\sim}2%$ of all cervical malignancy. It is a rapidly progressive and biologically aggressive disease with poor response to therapy. This tumor is considered to be a poorly differentiated mixed adenosquamous carcinoma. The cytologic findings are characterized by tumor cells arranged predominantly in syncytial like aggregates and an inflammatory background. The tumor cells have moderate amounts of eosinophilic or amphophilic cytoplasm, which is often finely granular. The nuclei are relatively large and have fine chromatin with prominent eosinophilic nucleoli. Cytologically, glassy cell carcinoma is most likely to be confused with large cell nonkeratinizing squamous cell carcinoma and with atypical reparative cells. Herein, we report three cases of glassy cell carcinoma of the uterine cervix diagnosed by cervicovaginal smear and confirmed by histologic section with review of literatures.

  • Cystadenocarcinoma of the salivary gland is a rare malignant tumor. It was first defined as papillary cystadenocarcinoma in the 1991 World Health Organization (WHO) classification, and it was reclassified as cystadenocarcinoma in the 2005 WHO classification. It is a low-grade neoplasm that features slow growing and predominantly cystic growth. We report a case of cystadenocarcinoma occurring on the parotid gland of a 61-year-old female patient presenting palpable mass on her left cheek. Preoperative examination may not reveal typical malignant characteristics. Such as in our case, the differential diagnosis between cystadenocarcinoma and benign lesion is difficult occasionally. We discuss the clinical and histopathological features of cystadenocarcinoma with the review of the literature.

  • This essay critically analyses the legacy of Eisenstadt's The Political Systems of Empires for the comparative political history of pre-industrial empires. It argues that Eisenstadt has given us a rich toolkit to conceptualize the formation, maintenance, and dissolution of empires by theorizing the structural relationships between social groups in large-scale polities and among such polities, and by analysing global patterns of development in the distribution of the sources of social power. The Political Systems of Empires provides an inventory of key questions and dynamics that a comparative history of power relationships in empires cannot ignore. This essay, furthermore, discusses three methodological problems in Eisenstadt's work which have had a significant impact on comparative empire studies between the 1980s and the 2000s. The essay argues that certain shared features of comparative studies of pre-industrial empires help perpetuate Eurocentric analyses: the foregrounding of select empires and periods as ideal types (typicality), the focus on macro-historical structures and dynamics without the integration of social relationships and actions in historical conjunctures (the lack of scalability), and the search for convergence and divergence. These features need to be overcome to make Eisenstadt's legacy viable for comparative political history.

  • Domestic construction industry is larger in size, and its shape is more complex. As a result, collaboration and information management tasks are difficult to manage in a way that conventional 2D-based exchange of information. BIM technology was introduced as a solution for this. But BIM only provides a very limited set of features such as Constructability review, clash detection in reality. and duplication of work and a lot of iterations occurs in BIM process. Thus, it takes quite a lot time to work. We studied how to improve the work efficiency by connecting API to business processes. Using the API in the integration process by automating repetitive tasks, reduce a significant amount of work time Using API (Automation, Optimization, Interoperability, Analysis) can solve the task problem that does not solved by the basic features, If we make good use of the combined API will be improved productivity.

  • The purpose of this research is to classify the historical features of mid-to-late twentieth century Korean fashion with a focus on 'Nora Noh', who is a first generation Korean fashion designer. The specific questions of this research are as follows: how did mid-to-late twentieth century Korean fashion and the Nora Noh brand develop and what is the relationship between the two? What are the important features of Korean women's fashion design in the mid-to-late twentieth century? What are the characteristics exhibited in each decade in Korean women's fashion and Nora Noh's fashion? This paper conducted the research by focusing on the Korean fashion development as a background of simplification in the way of dressing and specific historical incident. Researchers deployed a qualitative research method providing a systematic review of the previous studies by analyzing content as well as eleven oral statement interviews and the case study of Nora Noh. The result shows that Nora Noh is one of the first generation of Korean fashion designers who led fashion trend and system in Korea. The designer also influenced Korean commercial fashion in the 1970s and American fashion trends in the 1980s.

  • Paraganglioma of the thyroid is a neuroendocrine tumor originating from the neural crest. To our knowledge, only 32 cases of thyroid paraganglioma(TP) have been reported to date. TP is difficult to distinguish from medullary thyroid cancer(MTC), hence correct diagnosis is seldom obtained preoperatively. Although immunohistochemistry is helpful for confirmation of TP, these markers are not specific for differential diagnosis between TP and MTC. Therefore, an index of suspicion is important when encountered with MTC with unusual features, or given pathology with neuroendocrine features and unusual immunohistochemical findings. The authors report a case of TP misdiagnosed as MTC at preoperative work-up and intraoperative frozen section analysis, with a review of the literature. The case depicts various immunohistochemical characteristics of the tumor.

  • Purpose: Pachydermoperiostosis is a rare hereditary disease characterized by finger clubbing, periosteal reaction, and pachydermia. The underlying pathogenic mechanism of this disease remains unclear. This disease is known to be associated with a variety of diseases such as cranial suture defect, bone marrow failure, hypertrophic gastropathy, Crohn's disease, and female escuchen. Methods: A 50-year-old male had digital clubbing of both hands, coarse hypertrophic skin changes of face, progressive thickening and furrowing on the scalp(cutis verticis gyrata), persistent pain in the limbs and joints. Other cutaneous features include moderate blepharoptosis, pole-like lower legs and feet. Results: We performed surgical excision for hypertrophic skin change of scalp because of frequent eczematous skin change, severe itching sensation and cosmetic problem. Diagnosis is confirmed by bony proliferative periosteal reaction, pathologic findings, and characteristic clinical findings. Conclusion: Pachydermoperiostosis is manifested by finger clubbing, and hypertrophic skin changes causing coarse facial features with thickening and periosteal bone formation. We experienced a case of pachydermoperiostosis. Brief review of related literature is given.

  • If additional condition in letter of credit is used in malicious way, it affects the international trade transaction in jeopardy. Therefore, it's significant to identify whether additional conditions are malicious or ordinary in the transaction with letter of credit. In normal cases, thanks to lots of useful features as an international payment method, such as security of payment, legal protection, and versatility, a letter of credit is widely used in international trade. However, even with these advantageous features, a letter of credit is complicate and costly to use, compared to other payment methods. Furthermore, due to its principle of independence from underlying contract, a use of letter of credit creates another type of concern for proper handling and needs significant caution upon field use. At some points, malicious additional conditions are used for buyer's advantage in deal making and fraud instance in worst situation. In addition, some countries request malicious conditions against sellers as a non-tariff barrier. Therefore it's extremely important to recognize whether malicious additional condition exists in letter of credit and, if so, how to deal with it. This study delivers the information to distinguish and categorize the malicious conditions in various cases and to figure out how to deal with them for safer trade with less risk.

  • Pseudoangiomatous stromal hyperplasia (PASH) was initially described by Vuitch et al. as a benign breast lesion, consisting of mammary stromal proliferations which simulate vascular lesions, and which might be mistaken for a low-grade angiosarcoma. This condition occasionally presents as a palpable mass in postmenopausal women, but is more frequently encountered as an incidental component in premenopausal women. Clinical, radiological, and fine-needle aspiration (FNA) findings associated with this condition can mimic those observed in conjunction with a phyllodes tumor or a fibroadenoma. The cytological features of PASH are generally nonspecific, and its diagnosis by FNA cytology is fairly difficult. In this study, we report a case on PASH, manifesting as a palpable mass.

  • Intracystic papillary carcinoma(IPC) of the breast is a distinctive and very rare variant of intrductal carcinoma. The cytologic features of IPC have been rarely reported, and there are difficulties in distinguishing between benign and malignant papillary breast lesions. Herein we report a IPC of the breast in a 80 year-old female. Fine needle aspiration cytology revealed monotonous cuboidal epithelial cells in small clusters and individually scattered on bloody background. The tumor cells did not show overt cytologic atypia. With the histologic features of this case and review of the literature, the cytologic differential points are discussed.
