  • In this paper, we describe the architecture of interactive data broadcasting server that can transmit the various data-service contents of the Terrestrial DMB(digital multimedia broadcasting). In the broadcasting environment of the Terrestrial DMB, we enjoys the PADS(program associated data service), or the PIDS(program independent data service) to be executed on various T-DMB terminals as well as the basic video or audio services. This server provides the function such as the data contests management, data channel management, service information configure, return channel connection. Etc. Particularly, this system provides the method to create and transfer the application signaling information for the T- DMB middle application based the java language.

On the Lightning Induced Voltage Along Overhead Power Distribution Line

  • Lightning induced voltage is a major factor that causes interruptions on distribution lines. In this paper, analytical expressions are proposed to evaluate a lightning induced voltage on power lines directly in the time domain without the need to apply any extra conversions. The proposed expressions can consider the widely used current functions and models in contrast to the earlier analytical expressions which had a number of limitations related to the simplification of the channel base current and the current along the lightning channel. The results show that the simulated values based on the proposed method are in good agreement with the previous studies and the proposed expressions can be used for optimizing the insulation and protection level of existing and new lines being designed.

온라인 채널에서의 패션 소비에 관한 구매위험의 구조적 개념 연구 (A study on the conceptual structure of purchase risks in fashion consumption through online channels)

  • The purpose of this study was to create a theoretical structure for the concept of purchasing risks by identifying the structure of purchasing risks that lead to obstacles in the purchasing decisions of consumers in fashion consumption via online channels. This was a secondary research using books, articles, prior researches, and academic journals on the five topics of "characteristics of fashion consumption," "the concept of purchasing risks," "purchasing risks by product types," "purchasing risks by channel types," and "purchasing risks of fashion consumption on online shopping channels." According to the arguments of prior researches, the study divided the purchasing risks of fashion consumption through online shopping into four categories : (1) fundamental purchasing risks including financial risk and time loss risk pertaining to any product or channel, (2) online channel purchase risks, which include risks in payment, Information leaks, and delivery and return/exchange risk, (3) fashion product risk related to product quality or experience of other people, which includes social risks and risks associated with quality, and (4) the online channel${\times}$fashion product risks, which include the aesthetic and psychological hazards especially amplified in online channels. The four risk factors were then described with a concept map to systemize the multi-dimensional and stereoscopic psychological structure of purchasing risks. Of the four risk factors, consumers placed the most emphasis on the online channel${\times}$fashion product risks, hence, reducing this risk factor is of utmost priority for marketing of online shopping channels.

  • The aerodynamic design of the two-stages of centrifugal compressors in an 1.2MW industrial gas turbine is completed with the application of numerical analyses. The final shape of an intake, the axial guide vanes and a return channel is determined using several interactions between design and two-dimensional turbulent flow analysis, focused on the minimum loss of internal flows. The one-dimensional turbulent flow analysis, focused on the minimum loss of internal flows. The one-dimensional design and prediction of aerodynamic performances for the compressors are performed by two different methods; one is a method with conventional loss models, and the other a method with the two-zone model. The combination methods of the Betzier curves generate three-dimensional geometric shapes of impeller blades which are to be checked with a careful change of aerodynamic blade loadings. The impeller design is finally completed by the applications of three-dimensional compressible turbulent flow solvers, and the effect of minor change of design of the second-stage channel diffuser is also studied. All the aerodynamic design results are soon to the verified by component performance tests of prototype centrifugal compressors.

Turbulence-tolerant Manchester On-off Keying Transmission for Free-space Optical Communication

  • We propose a turbulence-tolerant Manchester on-off keying (M-OOK) transmission for free-space optical (FSO) communication. At the transmitter end, a M-OOK signal featuring a spectrum with low-frequency components absent is modulated and transmitted into a turbulent channel. At the receiver end, a low-pass filter (LPF) -based adaptive-threshold decision (ATD) with LPF-extracted channel-state information (CSI) and a high-pass filter (HPF)-based fixed-threshold decision (FTD) are employed to compensate for the effects of turbulence, owing to the low-frequency spectral characteristics of the turbulent channel. The performance of LPF-based ATD and HPF-based FTD are evaluated for various cutoff frequencies for the LPF and HPF. Besides, the proposed M-OOK transmission is compared to conventional non-return-to-zero OOK (NRZ-OOK) for different data rates. The proposed technique is verified in simulation. The simulation results show that the proposed M-OOK detection with optimized cutoff frequencies of LPF and HPF has better bit-error-rate (BER) performance compared to NRZ-OOK, and it is close to the theoretical ATD with the knowledge of precise CSI under various degrees of turbulence effects.

위성 통신에서 Cross-layer 기반 PEP 성능 평가 (Performance Evaluation of PEP Based on Cross-Layer in Satellite Communication System)

  • 위성 통신은 넓은 지역에 통신 서비스를 제공하는 광역 네트워크이다. 하지만, 위성 통신은 대역폭이 제한되고 매우 긴 전파 지연 시간과 높은 BER(Bit Error Rate)로 인해 위성 통신을 고려하지 않은 TCP의 성능이 저하 된다. 본 논문에서는 위성 통신에서의 TCP 성능을 향상시키기 위해 DVB-RCS(Digital Video Broadcasting-Return Channel via Satellite) 네트워크 환경을 고려한 cross-layer 기반 PEP(Performance Enhancing Proxy) 기술을 제안한다. 제안하는 프로토콜은 TCP와 링크 계층 간 위성 자원 할당 정보를 정보 교환을 통해 최적의 TCP CWND(Congestion Window)를 설정한다. 제안한 프로토콜의 성능 평가를 위해 리눅스 기반의 PEP 테스트 베드를 구현하였다. 성능 평가 결과 다양한 BER에서 제안한 프로토콜은 위성 자원 할당 정보를 이용하여 최적의 TCP CWND 크기를 설정하기 때문에 단일 및 다중 세션 환경에서 기존 TCP 보다 제안한 프로토콜이 더 좋은 성능을 보여준다는 것을 확인할 수 있었다.

TCP Accelerator for DVB-RCS SATCOM Dynamic Bandwidth Environment with HAIPE

  • A high assurance IP encryption (HAIPE) compliant protocol accelerator is proposed for military networks consisting of red (or classified) networks and black (or unclassified) networks. The boundary between red and black sides is assumed to be protected via a HAIPE device. However, the IP layer encryption introduces challenges for bandwidth on demand satellite communication. The problems experienced by transmission control protocol (TCP) over satellites are well understood: While standard modems (on the black side) employ TCP performance enhancing proxy (PEP) which has been shown to work well, the HAIPE encryption of TCP headers renders the onboard modem's PEP ineffective. This is attributed to the fact that under the bandwidth-on-demand environment, PEP must use traditional TCP mechanisms such as slow start to probe for the available bandwidth of the link (which eliminates the usefulness of the PEP). Most implementations recommend disabling the PEP when a HAIPE device is used. In this paper, we propose a novel solution, namely broadband HAIPE-embeddable satellite communications terminal (BHeST), which utilizes dynamic network performance enhancement algorithms for high latency bandwidth-on-demand satellite links protected by HAIPE. By moving the PEP into the red network and exploiting the explicit congestion notification bypass mechanism allowed by the latest HAIPE standard, we have been able to regain PEP's desired network enhancement that was lost due to HAIPE encryption (even though the idea of deploying PEP at the modem side is not new). Our BHeST solution employs direct video broadcast-return channel service (DVB-RCS), an open standard as a means of providing bandwidth-on-demand satellite links. Another issue we address is the estimation of current satellite bandwidth allocated to a remote terminal which is not available in DVBRCS. Simulation results show that the improvement of our solution over FIX PEP is significant and could reach up to 100%. The improvement over the original TCP is even more (up to 500% for certain configurations).

MSSI와 결합된 분산 제어 링크에서 RZ 펄스의 소광비에 따른 보상 특성 (Compensation Characteristics Depending on Extinction Ratio of RZ Pulse in Dispersion-managed Link Combined with MSSI)

  • 전체 전송 거리의 중간에서 위상 공액파로 반전시키는 MSSI (mid-span spectral inversion)을 분산 제어 링크에 결합시키면 색 분산과 비선형 효과에 의한 파장 분할 다중 (WDM; wavelength division multiplexed) 신호의 왜곡 보상에 매우 효과적이다. 이러한 MSSI 결합 분산 제어 링크에서 분산 맵의 모양, 채널의 데이터율, 채널 파장과 파장 간격 등은 보상 정도에 영향을 미치고, 결과적으로 WDM 신호의 전송 거리와 용량을 결정하게 한다. 본 논문에서는 MSSI 결합 분산 제어 링크에서 WDM 신호를 구성하는 RZ (return-to-zero) 펄스의 소광비에 따른 보상 특성을 분석하였다. 시뮬레이션 결과 소광비가 커질수록 '1'과 '0' 신호의 전력 차이가 증가하여 수신 성능이 좋아지는 일반적인 광전송 시스템에서의 결과가 아닌 분산 맵의 형태와 분산 맵의 구체적 모양을 결정하는 광섬유 스팬 당 잉여 분산의 크기에 따라 최상의 보상을 얻을 수 있는 소광비가 결정되어야 한다는 것을 알 수 있었다.

충적하천의 하도형성유량 산정과 수리기하특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Channel forming Discharge Estimation and the Hydraulic Geometry Characteristics of the Alluvial Stream)

  • 많은 강과 하천에서 하나의 대표적인 유량이 안정하도 형태를 결정하는데 사용되어 질 수 있다. 이러한 대표적인 하도형성유량은 여러 연구자들의 접근 방식의 차이에 따라 강턱유량, 특정 재현기간유량, 유효유량 등으로 표시된다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 대상유역의 특성인자와 관측자료를 이용하여 하도형성유량을 산정하고, 강턱유량과 수리기하 특성간의 상관관계를 분석하였다. 문막과 서면 수위관측소에서 하도형성유량으로 결정된 강턱유량의 재현기간은 유출량 자료를 빈도분석한 결과, 문막은 1.8년, 서면은 1.5년으로 산정되었으며, 유효유량은 강턱유량에 비해 10배 이상 작게 산정되었다. 강턱유량과 수리기하특성과의 상관관계를 분석한 결과, 유역면적과 강턱유량은 어느 정도 상관성이 있으나 강턱유량과 수리기하간의 상관성은 낮은 것으로 분석되었다.

USRP기반 채널 적응형 개인방송시스템 구현 및 검증 (Implementation and Verification of Channel Adaptive Private Broadcasting System Based on USRP)

  • 본 연구에서는 ATSC 기반 무선통신시스템을 비면허대역에서 개인방송시스템으로 활용 가능함을 보였다. 혼/간섭 신호가 존재하는 비면허대역에서 양질의 서비스를 제공하기 위하여 CR 개념을 도입한 채널 적응형 시스템으로 설계하였으며, 폐루프 능동위상배열안테나를 설계하여 연동함으로써 고신뢰성 통신이 가능함을 보였다. USRP기반으로 하는 오픈소스 신호처리 플랫폼인 GNU Radio를 사용하였고 이와 더불어 내부 FPGA에 추가적인 기능을 구현함으로써, 사용자가 원하는 ATSC 기반 개인방송 플랫폼을 쉽고 유연하게 설계하고 수정할 수 있도록 하였다. 또한, 실시간으로 송수신 간 채널의 상태 및 통신 파라미터 등의 정보를 전송하는 리턴 채널과 스펙트럼 검출을 구현하여 통신 주파수 자원을 효율적으로 관리 및 제어할 수 있도록 하였다.
