During therapy sessions, feedback is often provided concurrently by the physical therapist as the patient attempts to perform a movement and after the movement attempt. This feedback is provided to enhance the patient's balance abilities. However, recent studies in nondisabled populations have suggested that frequent feedback may be detrimental to retention or learning of motor skills. This study compared the effects of 100% relative frequency of knowledge of performance (KP) with 66% relative frequency of KP for motor learning on balance retraining in patients with hemiplegia. Twenty patients with hemiplegic were randomly assigned to one of two experimental groups. The acquisition phase consisted of 16 blocks of 5 trials for 2 days (80 total practice trials). The retention phase consisted of 2 blocks of a short-term retention test, one day after the end of the acquisition phase and a long-term retention test, one week after the end of the short-term retention test. In the 100% feedback condition, participants received feedback after every practice trial. A faded KP schedule was used in the 66% condition. No significant differences were found between the two groups during all experimental phases (acquisition and retention phases), (p>.05). However, there were significant decreases in balance index for both groups of acquisition phase (p<.05). These results suggest that 66% relative frequency of KP is not more effective than 100% relative frequency of KP with respect to retention over time when hemiparetic patients attempt to learn balance.
Raw cow manure was treated by a 4-step integrated system with phase separation anaerobic digestion and algal culture. When the first methane fermentation was performed by the effluent from the acid fermenter with retention time of 4 days, the elrerage blogas production rate was 977m1/1 culture/day Gas productivity compared to conventional single-stage anaerobic digestion increased up to 31.4%. As the 2nd methane fermenter was fed by the effluent from the first methane fermenter with 4 days of retention time, average amount of 428m1/1 culture/day of biogas was produced. The reduction rate of COD in the effluent from the acid fermenter, the 1st and the 2nd methane fermenter were 71.8%, 42.6% and 24.0% respectively. Finally, we examined algal treatment process for the effluent from the 2nd methane fermenter. A semi-continuous culture of Chlorella sp. PSH3 was conducted by feeding the effluent with retention time of 10days. In this process, the production rate of algal biomass and COD reduction rate were averaged 1.8g/1 culture/day(2.8$\times$106 cells/ml) and 73%, respectively. Through the 4-setp treatments, the total chemical oxygen demand was reduced from 51,300ppm to 85ppm. Therefore, the reduction rate of total chemical oxygen demand reached about 99.8%. The results indicate that the integrated system could be applicable for treatment of organic wastes, concurrently producing biogas and algal biomass.
It was the aim of this investigation to evaluate some histologic aspect of rat pulp tissue after it had been compromised by an experimental orthodontic force. Experimental animals of thirty five Spraque-Dawley rats were employed. The first upper molars had been successively mesial moved (initial load 100 gr.) with a closed coil spring during 21 days. The experimental periods were set on immediate, 1 day, 1 week, 2 weeks, 3 weeks, 4 weeks following retention time. On each experimental period, the rats were killed and prepared for the light microscopy. After prepared with H/E stain and Gomori's one-step trichrome stain, the specimens were analyzed with evaluation criteria which were adopted in this study. The result may be summarized as follows; 1. The main pulp changes due to experimental orthodontic force included vacuolization of odontoblastic layer, circulation disturbance, root resorption, reduced pulp collagenous fiber density and mean cell count of pulp fibroblast in the immediate group. 2. The pulp tissue changes were revealed reversible because the relieved pulp tissues from experimental orthodontic force were recovered rapidly in each evaluation criteria during retention periods. 3. Compared with normal control group, pulp collagenous fiber density were decreased in immediated group (p < 0.01), but increased in each retention groups. These seem to suggest that the pulp tissues were aged after experimental orthodontic force conditions. 4. Compared with normal control group, mean cell counts of pulp fibroblasts were decreased in immediate group (p < 0.05), but increased continuous in each retention groups. These seem to indicate that the pulp tissues were highly regenerative after experimental orthodontic force conditions. 5. Compared with normal control group, root resorptions occurred in all immediate specimens (p < 0.01) and they were healed in each retention periods, but often observed in 4 weeks retention group. These seem to indicate that root resorptions were recovered slowly after experimental orthodontic force conditions.
A variety of polycarboxylate ether (PCE)-based superplasticizers are commercially available. Their influence on the rheological retention and slump loss in respect of concrete differ considerably. Fluidity and slump loss are the cardinal features responsible for the quality of concrete. These are related to the dispersion of cement particles and the hydration process which are greatly influenced by type of polycarboxylate ether (PCE)-based superplasticizers. On the backdrop of relatively less studies in the context of rheological retention of high strength self-consolidating concrete (HS-SCC), the experimental investigations were carried out aiming at quantifying the effect of the six different PCE polymers (PCE 1-6) on the rheological retention of HS-SCC mixes containing two types of Ordinary Portland Cements (OPC) and unwashed crushed sand as the fine aggregate. The tests that were carried out included $T_{500}$, V-Funnel, yield stress and viscosity retention tests. The supplementary cementitious materials such as fly ash (FA) and micro-silica (MS) were also used in ternary blend keeping the mix paste volume and flow of concrete constant. Low water to binder ratio was used. The results reveal that not only the PCEs of different polymer groups behave differently, but even the PCEs of same polymer groups also behave differently. The study also indicates that the HS-SCC mixes containing PCE 6 and PCE 5 performed better as compared to the mixes containing PCE 1, PCE 2, PCE 3 and PCE 4 in respect of all the rheological tests. The PCE 6 is a new class of chemical admixtures known as Polyaryl Ether (PAE) developed by BASF to provide better rheological properties in even in HS-SCC mixes at low water to binder mix. In the present study, the PCE 6, is found to help not only in reduction in the plastic viscosity and yield stress, but also provide good rheological retention over the period of 180 minutes. Further, the early compressive strength properties (one day compressive strength) highly depend on the type of PCE polymer. The side chain length of PCE polymer and the fineness of the cement considerably affect the early strength gain.

Objectives The purpose of this study is to analyze recent Chinese randomized controlled trials on efficacy and safety of the retention enema with herbal medicine in pediatric diarrhea. Methods We searched the recent Chinese randomized controlled trials from the China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI) by using key words; '保留灌腸', '小兒', '腹瀉' and '泄瀉' with data range from January $1^{st}$, 2010 to March $2^{nd}$, 2019. Year of the publication, demographic information, disease, intervention, outcome measure, results, adverse events and composition of herbal medicine were analyzed for this study. Results 19 out of 32 studies were selected and analyzed. The most commonly used herbal medicine was Galgeungeumlyeon-tang modification (葛根芩連湯加減), and the most widely used retention enema method was to retain for 15 minutes and administer twice a day for 3 days. In most of the studies, retention enema with herbal medicine in pediatric diarrhea showed significant efficacies. No adverse effects were reported from the studies. Conclusions The results of these studies from China showed that the retention enema with herbal medicine in pediatric diarrhea may be effective and safe.
In this study, the performance of new digestion system (NDS) for the treatment of food waste leachate was evaluated. The food waste leachate was fed intermittently to an anaerobic reactor at increasing steps of 3.3 L/day (hydraulic retention time [HRT] = 30 day), 5 L/day (HRT = 20 day), and finally 10 L/day (HRT = 10 day). In the anaerobic reactor, the pH and alkalinity were maintained at 7.6 to 8.2 and 8,940-14,400 mg/L, respectively. Maximum methane yield determined to be 0.686L $CH_4$/g volatile solids (VS) containing HRT over 20 day. In the digester, 102,328 mg chemical oxygen demand (COD)/L was removed to produce 350 L/day (70% of the total) of biogas, but in the digested sludge reduction (DSR) unit, only 3,471 mg COD/L was removed with a biogas production of 158 L/day. Without adding any chemicals, 25% of total nitrogen (TN) and 31% of total phosphorus (TP) were removed after the DSR, while only 48% of TN and 32% of TP were removed in the nitrogen, phosphorus, and heavy metals (NPHM) removal unit. Total removal of TN was 73% and total removal of TP was 63%.
This study evaluated the effects of glycerol polyethylene glycol ricinoleate (GPGR) supplementation in different energy density diets on the growth performance, blood profiles, excreta gas emission, and total tract apparent retention (TTAR) of nutrients in broilers. A total of 544 one-day-old male Ross broilers were used in a 35-day trial. The broilers were allocated into one of four treatment groups in a $2{\times}2$ factorial arrangement with two levels of energy densities (a normal energy or decreased energy density) and GPGR (0 and 0.035%). From day 18 to 35, the GPGR supplemented and normal energy density diet groups showed a significantly improved (p < 0.05) body weight gain (BWG). Meanwhile, the GPGR supplemented diet group had a significantly reduced (p < 0.05) feed conversion ratio (FCR) compared to that of the non-supplemented diet group. From day 0 to 35, the GPGR supplemented diet and the normal energy density diet groups had a significantly increased (p < 0.01) BWG and a reduced (p < 0.01) FCR. Moreover, GPGR supplementation tended to increase (p < 0.1) the TTAR of the dry matter (DM) compared with the non-supplemented diets. Likewise, the normal energy density diets had a significantly improved TTAR for the gross energy (GE) (p < 0.05) than that of the decreased energy density diets. No interactive effects were observed between the energy density and GPGR supplemented diets. In conclusion, both dietary GPGR supplementation and normal energy density diets had beneficial effects on the growth performance of broiler chickens without any adverse effects on blood profiles and excreta gas emission.
The present study was designed to evaluate primary production organic matter in basin of lake around by execution of total maximum daily loading. BOD influent loading of Uiam lake was 2,819 kg/day, which was less then 28.3 percent, total effuluent loading as 3,619 kg/day, in comparision with BOD, total nitrogen influent loading was 4,681 kg/day, which was less then 10.0 percent, total effuluent loading as 5,150 kg/day. But in case of total phosphors influent loading was 73.3 kg/day, which was more then 34.2 percent, total run off loading as 48.3 kg/day. The result of survey reduction plan of primary production organic matter in basin of lake around which objectives of abstract is as follows. First plan was reduction of primary production organic matter by moving the outlet of municipal wastewater treatment center from present place to lake downstream. Secondary plan was improvement by diffusion type of outlet municipal wastewater treatment center. The third plan was reduction of environmental impact by passing and storing of municipal wastewater. Finally plan was decline water surface level which was present hydrouric retention time was reduction from 7.6 day to 6.0 day per meter.
The purpose of this research was to examine the degradation rate of alizarin in accelerated degradation conditions using the GC-MS quantitative analysis. Alizarin dye solution (2.5 x 10/sup -3/ M conc.) were kept in 150℃ oven for total of 7 days and the degradation rate was examined each day. 2.5 × 10/sup -4/M conc. alizarin dye solution was mixed with H₂O₂ according to [H₂O₂]/[dye] ratio 40 and were kept under 365㎚ UV for 2 hours, analyzed after 0, 30, 60, 90, 120min using the GC-MS. Gas chromatogram showed alizarin peak at 9.96 - 10.13 min. retention time range and residual peaks in the wide range from 9.6 to 11.1 min. Oven degradation exhibited an initial decrease in the amount of alizarin, which was followed by increasing amount in 4/sup th/ day. The decrease in the alizarin was significantly shown by the 7/sup th/ day. Same pattern was also observed in the H₂O₂/UV/O₂ degradation samples and was verified ed by the UV-VIS spectra. The differences in the amount of alizarin between 1/sup st/ day and 4/sup th/ day samples, 4/sup th/ day and 7/sup th/ day samples, and Control and 7/sup th/ day samples of the oven degradation were significant at alpha .20.
To increase the efficiency of a two-stage anaerobic wastewater digestion system, various polymers were added to the methanogenic reactor as supports. The addition of polyurethane addition (6%, w/v) to the methanogenic reactor facilitated the organic loading rate (2-day Hydraulic Retention Time), higher than that of the conventional methanogenic reactor (6-day HRT). During the operation of the polyurethane-added reactor, a significant decrease in the organic mass in the effluent (COD 5-6 kg/l) was achieved, compared to that of the conventional reactor (COD 15-20 kg/l). The methane gas production rate also improved about 3-fold in the polyurethane-added reactor. More biomass was found to accumulate in the polyurethane-liquid phase (volatile solid, 26-28kg) than in the free-liquid phase (volatile solid, 5- 7 kg/l) after 90 days of operation. A scaled-up experiment with a polyurethane-added 2.5-1 reactor confirmed the previous results, and no adverse effects such as plugging or channeling due to decreased efficiency was observed even after 4 months of operation.
