본 연구는 부산의 대표적 상업 공간인 센텀 신세계백화점을 대상으로, 실내 휴게 공간과 가구 디자인 현황을 파악하고, 가구를 중심으로 한 방문객의 이용 행태 특성을 분석하고자 한다. 상업공간에서 공공의 영역이라고 할 수 있는 휴게 공간 디자인이 방문객의 특성과 행태를 지원하고 있는지를 파악하여 추후 상업 휴게 공간 디자인을 위한 기초 자료를 제공하고자 한다. 연구방법은 현장 방문 관찰을 진행해 휴게공간에서 각 층별 휴게공간의 위치, 휴게가구 디자인의 유형과 디자인 특성을 파악한 후, 주요 층별 휴게 가구 이용자의 특성과 행태를 분석하였다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 휴게공간과 가구를 분석한 결과 휴게공간의 위치나 크기는 적절하다고 여겨진다. 또한 휴게 가구는 베이지에서 브라운, 밝은 회색에서 블랙에 이르는 저채도의 편안한 색채에 부채형, 호형 벤치, 소파, 의자 형 등 다양한 디자인으로 제공되어 있어, 쉬기, 휴대폰 사용, 대화와 같은 가장 일반적인 이용 행태를 적절히 지원하고 있었다.

The modern public facility has been changed by complexity and diversity. It pursues public facility applying safety and amenity based on universal design. Among public facilities, the importance of street furniture is emphasized currently due to offer for pedestrians rest ares in a city street. However, it is very difficult for pedestrians to use street furniture conveniently and safely, because on the planning street furniture has not been considered thoroughly in aspects of universal design. The Purpose of this study is to evaluate street furniture in aspects of universal design. Also, this study suggests the Improvement plan for considering users of street furnitures. The method of this study is literature review and questionnaire survey. Firstly, we collected the data related to public facility and universal design, analyzed the data. Secondly, the items of questionnaire survey deduced based on analyzed data of literature review. Thirdly, we analyzed the result of questionnaire survey and evaluate the street furniture. Lastly, We discussed the solution to improve the present street furniture for a rest through the results and overseas cases. It has contributed in the improvement plan of street furniture thanks to deal with the evaluation of street furniture for pedestrians in aspects of universal design.

The purpose of this study is the investigation of the physically handicapped childrens' residentical life, using furniture and opinion of auxiliary furniture ot find out alternative forms of desirable furniture. This study consists of two parts: a survey of residential life and furniture usage and a new chair design based on the survey. Documentary research, observational investigation and questionaire survey methods were used. According to the survey, a chair was chosen as the most needed piece of furniture. The alternative chair was designed to accomodate to the individual physical needs of each child. The structural charasteristics of the chair form consist of four parts: 1) basic seat 2) supporting metal frame 3) detachable chair legs 4) detachable table top. Auxilliary options include adjustable parts such as a head rest, seat belt, arm rest and pedestal.

Objective: The objective of this research is to develop evaluation checklist for personal office furniture and apparatus to shape comfortable and efficient worksite for workers' welfare improvement, productivity enhancement and labor force preservation, and to identify office work environment by applying the checklist. Background: Because most office workers work using computers in a sitting posture, the ratio of office workers among total musculoskeletal disorders patients is forecast to increase. In this regard, an effort to prevent and manage such musculoskeletal disorders is required. Method: This research developed evaluation checklist for personal office furniture and apparatus by examining 25 domestic and international ergonomic literature and anthropometric data. This research carried out a fact-finding survey targeting the A Office and B Office of one public agency using the checklist. Results: Although, the checklist items on desks, chairs, computers and other goods conformed to the checklist standards, the following items did not conformed: desk height adjustment, seat board depth adjustment, lumbar support depth, foot rest, wrist rest, mouse tray, headset, speaker phone and Bluetooth. Conclusion: The evaluation checklist for personal office furniture and apparatus and fact-finding survey results are considered to be used as basic data for office work environment and workers' welfare improvement. Application: The information drawn from this research can be helpful to manufacturers' design and manufacture of ergonomic furniture and apparatus.

In the recent society of knowledge industry, a changed phenomenon of domestic corporate culture, Work Smart working in creative and various ways beyond time and space is emerged from Work Hard working just hard. Thus, many corporations are trying to configure the emotional space beside the work space to make effective and creative achievements in free work environment out of rigid organizational culture in the past. This space is called Amenity space which enables to implement physical and psychological healings simultaneously and this is not a place for rest like in the past industry society. This research suggests distinctive characteristics of other amenity furniture unlike general furniture by analyzing the variously suggested change of forms of amenity furniture for Work Smart and the changes of configuring key factors such as forms, structures and functions of amenity furniture.

The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship of the floor classification and the main-living behavior, and the tendency of using furniture and space by surveying the situations of using An-bang space by apartment dwellers. An-bang is a factor that influences on the unit-plan organization, the whole spatial arrangements, and the spatial relation and size, and has the most severe friction between the tradition and western culture. Given seeing the results shown in the main-living behavior by floor type, that the rest and TV watching were shown to be high in terms of a free-standing type can be said that An-bang is more for the individual rest than far the purpose of family harmony. On the other hand, that the family courtesy was shown to be a little higher a sitting-down type, could be understood that the sitting-down style, which is a traditional living mode, is appearing in An-bang.

King Muryeong reungeseo Foot-rest on the subject of the king excavated a USB memory design. Foot-rest of the form and the meaning of patterns were expressed on a USB memory. Meanwhile, the USB memory could not be seen in the case of natural wood material by using the age and the individual tastes of consumers represents USB memory into the merit of portability, necklaces pendants items for restoration, phone strap, key chain, etc. By combining the functionality increases. Meanwhile, on the basis of a practical item, the largest issue was the consumption of cultural products by maximizing the economic benefit of the community and at the same time a symbol of cultural heritage items have been transformed into the effectiveness of the national image enhancement is expected to be achieved.

This paper aims to approach a spatial furniture for sedentary lifestyle which been has derived and evolved from Korea's traditional 'Ondol' heating system. In this living culture, people has been staid on the floor where people would sit directly on without furniture such as chair and bed. With every changing technological advances, sedentary life culture is transformed and mixed instead of sedentary habit. Most of people lived in western house such as apartment forms. As time go by, western furnitures were used became widespread. However, during the process, it impossible to acclimate ourselves to the new lifestyle such as chair, bed etc. This leads to users feeling uncomfortable on certain points. The researcher suggests a spatial furniture through a new approach to rest-taking that also intersects the cultures of East and West while resolving the a fore-mentioned issues. The study is conducted as follows. Firstly, issues are discovered through a user's lifestyle to exist usage and interplay of house and furniture. Furthermore, the issues was not a fragmentary thing but more related to a culture and a coustom of long standing. Secondly, a design experiment is conducted to conclude a new form and function that is better fit for the Korean culture where sitting on the floor is the norm. New direction for space that intersects the cultures of the East and West while using modules made convenient for contemporary life is presented. Finally, this study is meaningful in that it reinterprets furniture used for rest within the context of sedentary culture, in order to propose a new direction and value for design that overcomes the boundaries between eastern and western applied to resting space.

This study aimed at creation of bench design to be placed in the public spaces for the citizen who live in Jungnang-Gu. In Jungnang-Gu surrounded by the excellent natural environment like Jungnang-stream, Mangwoo Mt., Bongwha Mt. and Youngma Mt., there are many public places where a citizen can take a rest. Among the public facilities being in such public places however, the benches especially were installed so unplanned and disordered, even that they look unbalanced with the natural environment, though they need to play a meaningful role in park and walking paths. Hereupon this study intends to investigate the geographical environment in Jungnang-Gu and furthermore to develop the bench-design on the basis of the investigation. The concept of design lies in modern style of a bench matched up with the nature well and also taking the functional aspect for rest, in consideration of the public places utilized by the abundant natural greens. The environment-friendly timber, marble and metal were used here and the design with and without the back of a bench & the dimension for Korean people's figure were considered.

This study explored furniture and furniture designers in Art Nouveau which was called as Jugendstill in Germany. Jugendstill was developed on the center of Munchen, Darmstadt, and Berlin from the late 19th century to the early 20th century. And it was developed differently from Art Nouveau in the rest of European countries as the Rococo style and the Baroque style of Germany were done so. The furniture designers of Art Nouveau pronounced their use of decorative motifs from nature with birds, flowers, insects, fish, even landscape represented, but the designers in Jugendstill made the elaborate curvilinear design simply stylized and abstract: the design of Art Nouveau was seen as the superfluity of the ornament but the design of Jugendstill was seen as the simplified lines and restrain of the ornament. Hence, Jugendstill was deeply related with the scientific and rational thought of Germany, and then, it was based on the Deutscher Werkbund found by Hermann Muthesius.
