  • A linear transfer function for the output current control of frequency-controlled resonant inverters is proposed in this paper. The circuit of resonant inverters can be transformed into two coupled circuits through the complex phasor transform. The circuits consist of cross-coupled power sources and passive elements. The circuits are used to induce the state space equation, which is transformed into the $4^{th}$ order cross-coupled transfer function. The $4^{th}$ order cross-coupled transfer function is modeled into a $2^{nd}$ order linear transfer function based on a behavior analysis of the pole and zero locations that facilitate a simple and intuitive linear transfer function. The feasibility and validity of the proposed linear transfer function were verified by simulation and experiment.

  • This paper presents a resonant non-inverting buck-boost converter in which all switches operate under ZCS conditions. In a symmetric configuration, a CLL resonant tank along with an inverter arm and a rectifying diode are employed. The diode is turned off at ZCS and hence the problem of its reverse recovery is obviated also. As a result switching losses and EMI are reduced and switching frequency can be increased. The converter can work at DCM and CCM depend on the switching frequency and the load-current. Experimental results from a 200W/200KHz laboratory prototype verify operation of the proposed converter and the presented theoretical analysis.

  • This paper covers switched reluctance generator (SRG) and its comparison with induction and synchronous machines for distributed generation. The SRG is simple in design, robust in construction, and fault tolerant in operation; it can also withstand very high temperatures. However, the performance and cost of the SRG power electronics driver are highly affected by the topology and design of the converter. IGBT and MOSFET based converters are not suitable for very high power applications. This paper presents thyristor-based resonant converters which are superior candidates for very high power applications. Operations of the converters are analyzed and their characteristics and dynamics are determined in terms of the system parameters. The resonant converters are capable of handling high currents and voltages; these converters are highly efficient and reliable as well. Therefore, they are suitable for high power applications in the range of 1MW or larger for distributed generation.

  • Electronic ballast uses various resonant type filters, which perform many important functions such as filtering the high frequency harmonics, shaping the proper lamp current waveform and regulating the lamp power. In this paper, characteristics of resonant type filters are reviewed and the matching problem between inverter and resonant filter are described. Transfer function which is always necessary for the circuit parameter design is derived in case of LCC filter type as an example.

  • This paper presents a novel soft switching topology with resonant DC-DC converter and inverter. The resonant DC-DC converter consists of the auxiliary switch, resonant capacitor and inductor. All switches in the proposed topology is turn on at ZCS and turn off at ZVS operation. The proposed soft switching technology can be obtained the reduced switching losses and voltage and current stress of the power devices. Therefore, the resonant converter efficiency is higher than conventional boost converter. Simulation results on a 1kW soft switching converter are presented.

  • This paper proposes a FSK(Frequency Shift Keying) transmitter which has a inverter for power amplification instead of linear amplifier. As it can generate large signal using resonant circuit under the low voltage source even if the impedance of antenna is large as like a loop antenna of TWC(Train to Way-side Communication) system. In this paper, the proposed fully digital controlled transmitter including FSK modulation is presented and its control schemes are discussed.

  • A coupled magnetic resonance system (CMRS) using compact coil sets with core driven by a class-E inverter was proposed. The source and load coils of conventional CMRS were replaced with two coils containing core so that the system can be quite compact in size and easy to design due to a resonance frequency for all resonant tanks regardless of coupling factor. Experiments for 500 kHz switching frequency show 40% system efficiency.

  • In this paper, we composed utility interactive photovoltaic generation system of current source inverter, and controlled that low harmonic and high power factor are hold by supposing control and compensation method which is concerned with synchronous signal distortion and modulation delay. And we put parallel resonant circuit into dc link, so, magnitude of direct reactance was reduce by restraining direct current pulsation which had accumulation of pulsating power in alternating electrolytic condenser. Also we controlled that modulation factor is operated around maximum output of solar cell.

  • LCD displays for flat monitors the backlit using Cold Cathode Flourescent Lamps(CCFLs) In this paper a low-cost series resonant half-bridge inverter for LCD backlight is proposed as a CCFL ballast. It is regulated by asymmetric control for its fixed frequency soft switching model. The attractiveness of this topology is primarily its low cost because of using BJT switches and reduction of anti-parallel diode. Design procedure and experimental verification from 5W 15"LCD backlight are presented.
