  • The paper describes an automatic frequency control current-fed inverter for forging applications. The IGBT in series with diodes as its switching devices in the inverter circuit which is of full-bridge type. The operating frequency is automatically tracked to maintain a small constant leading phase angle when load parameters change. The load voltage is controlled to protect the switches. The output power can be adjusted by varying the input current from phase controlled rectifiers which is a part of current source. The system has been operated at 15-17 kHz. The output power transferred to the load is 1,595 watts. It can heat the steel work pieces with 15 mm diameter and 120 mm long from room temperature to approximately 1100 $^{\circ}C$ within 20 seconds with 0.97 leading power factor on the input side.

  • IN induction heating system the high frequency operation allows a rapid response to current fluctuation in the inverter and result in improved welding quality. To work induction heating of nonferrous metals, a welding power supply is need high working frequency and high power. This paper is shown design technique for increasing working frequency in induction heating for welding coppers. A series-parallel resonate inverter consists of H-type bridges, each of whose arms is composed of a combination of two parallel IGBTs. Inverter operating with the fixed frequency is controlled by pulse width modulation (PWM). As switching adapted the Zero-Voltage Switching technique to reduce switching losses the system is high efficiency. The propose inverter has feature which is high efficiency for very wide load variations with a narrow range of duty cycle ratio control and load short circuit capability. Detailed experimental results obtained from a 48[V] output, 500[W] experimental inverter are presented to verify the concept.

A Resonant Characteristics Analysis and Suppression Strategy for Multiple Parallel Grid-connected Inverters with LCL Filter

  • Multiple parallel inverters have multiple resonant frequencies that are influenced by many factors. This often results in stability and power quality problems. This paper develops a multiple input multiple output model of grid-connected inverter systems using a closed-loop transfer function. The influence factors of the resonant characteristics are analyzed with the developed model. The analysis results show that the resonant frequency is closely related to the number, type and composition ratio of the parallel inverters. To suppress resonance, a scheme based on virtual impedance is presented, where the virtual impedance is emulated in the vicinity of the resonance frequency. The proposed scheme needs one inverter with virtual impedance control, which reduces the design complexity of the other inverter controllers. Simulation and experimental tests are carried out on two single phase converter-based setups. The results validate the correctness of the model, the analytical results and the resonant suppressing scheme.

  • 고주파 유도 가열 시스템에서 철과 같은 물체를 가열하게 되면, 가열된 금속이 큐리점 부근에서 전기적인 임피던스가 급격하게 변화하는 특징을 가지는 시변 시스템이 된다. 또한 부하 임피던스가 변화함에 따라 시스템의 부하 공진 주파수가 달라지므로 해서 시스템의 효율이 감소하는 문제점이 있었다. 그리고, 피가열 물체의 용융이나 삽입 상태에 따른 시스템의 단락 현상으로 인해 시스템이 파괴되는 문제점이 있었다. 본 논문에서는 이런 문제점을 해결하기 위한 방법으로 PLL에 의한 부하 공진 주파수를 추종하면서 스위칭 손실을 줄이고, 시변 부하에 대한 유도 가열시 큐리점 부근의 급격한 부하 임피던스 변화에도 안정된 정전력 제어가 가능할 뿐 아니라 대전력용에 적합하고, 단락현상으로부터 시스템을 보호하는 병렬 공진형 인버터 시스템에 적용되는 퍼지논리 제어기를 설계하였다.

A Current-Fed Parallel Resonant Push-Pull Inverter with a New Cascaded Coil Flux Control for Induction Heating Applications

  • This paper presents a cascaded coil flux control based on a Current Source Parallel Resonant Push-Pull Inverter (CSPRPI) for Induction Heating (IH) applications. The most important problems associated with current source parallel resonant inverters are start-up problems and the variable response of IH systems under load variations. This paper proposes a simple cascaded control method to increase an IH system's robustness to load variations. The proposed IH has been analyzed in both the steady state and the transient state. Based on this method, the resonant frequency is tracked using Phase Locked Loop (PLL) circuits using a Multiplier Phase Detector (MPD) to achieve ZVS under the transient condition. A laboratory prototype was built with an operating frequency of 57-59 kHz and a rated power of 300 W. Simulation and experimental results verify the validity of the proposed power control method and the PLL dynamics.

  • An analysis of a new load resonant inverter considering stray inductance is given. There are several different types for load resonant inverters. They can offer zero turn-on as well as zero turn-off switching losses, yielding high efficiency at high power and high frequencies. However, they didn't consider the influences of stray inductance. In conventional topology using lossless snubber capacitor, stray inductances result in very high frequency resonant current. Especially, these influences can be problematic in high power system such as induction heating system with large current of some 10A associated with it. These currents increase EMI problem, give harmful effects in gate driver's operation and increase loss of dc-link capacitor as well as snubber capacitor. Therefore, the effect of stray inductances should be treated and reduced. This paper presents a new load resonant inverter topology, which can reduce the effect of stray inductances.

  • 본 논문에서는 개선된 PWM 적용성, 저손실 특성 및 낮은 전압 스트레스를 가지는 새로운 저손실 준 병렬공진 직류-링크 인버터를 제안한다. 직류-링크 동작손실을 대폭 감소시킴은 물론 넓은 동작범위에 걸쳐 안정한 소프트 스위칭을 보장하기 위하여 프리휠링 구간을 최소화시키는 방법을 또한 제안한다. 게다가 직류-링크의 영전압 구간의 무손실 제어에 의하여 낮은 변조지수 동작에 있어서도 제안된 인버터는 개선된 PWM 적용성을 보인다. 제안된 인버더 토폴로지의 유용성을 확인하기 위하여 실험 및 시뮬레이션을 행하였다.

  • This paper presents the voltage source type half bridge lossless auxiliary inductor snubber assisted series capacitor compensated resonant high frequency inverter for induction heated fixing roller in copy machines. This high-frequency inverter treated here can completely achieve zero current soft switching (ZCS) commutation for wide power regulation range under its constant frequency pulse density modulation (PDM) scheme. Its transient and steady-state operating principle is originally presented fur a constant frequency PDM control strategy under a ZCS operation commutation, together with its output effective power regulation characteristics-based on the PDM strategy. The experimental operating performances of this ZCS-PDM high frequency inverter using IGBTs are illustrated as compared with computer simulation ones. Its power losses and actual efficiency are evaluated and discussed on the basis of simulation and experimental results.

  • 본 논문에서는 유도 가열(Induction Heating)의 원리와 부하특성 및 등가회로를 해석하였고, Pspice를 이용하여 시뮬레이션을 수행하여 회로의 타당성을 검증하였다. 실험에서는 2[kW]의 공진형 인버터를 환류 다이오드가 내장된 IGBT 모듈로 제작하였다. 인버터의 스위칭 주파수는 $20{\sim}50[kHz]$ 대역에서 사용하였으며, 인버터의 출력제어는 위상전이(Phase shift)방식을 이용하였다. 본 논문에서 설계 제작한 풀브리지 공진형 인버터의 동작 특성 및 성능을 검증하여, 유도 가열을 이용한 알루미늄 박판 가열의 활용 가능성을 실험을 통하여 확인하였다.

  • 제안한 유도가열 시스템은 증류탑 장치에 사용되는 특수충진체에 의한 열교환기술과 IH(Induction-Heating)전자유도가열용의 특수한 고주파 전력회로 기술을 응용한 차세대 가열방식이다. 특히 일체의 연소과정이 없다는 점에서 작업환경의 개선이 가능하며 본 기술은 IGBT대응의 고주파 인버터를 사용하여 상용교류로부터 수[kHz]의 고주파 교류를 발생시킬 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 절연체 용기 내에 특수 스텐레스 발열체부하를 수납하여 용기 외부의 고주파 공진형 인버터 접속의 워킹코일로부터 비접촉 상태로 전자유도 와전류를 구조체에 흘림으로서 발열하게 되는 새로운 유체가열방식을 제안한다. 그리고 5[kW]급 풀-브릿지 공진형 인버터 시스템과 공진부하의 동작해석, 특성분석 및 본 시스템을 이용한 고효율 스팀 발생장치의 개발과 시스템의 응용에 대해 논하였다.
