자속구속형과 저항형 초전도 전류제한기의 특성비교 (Comparison of Operating Characteristics between Flux-lock Type and Resistive Type Superconducting Fault Current Limiters)

  • we compared the operating characteristics between flux-lock type and resistive type superconducting fault current limiters(SFCLs). Flux-lock type SFCL consists of two coils, which are wound in parallel each other through an iron core, and a high-Tc superconducting(HTSC) element is connected with coil 2 in series. The the flux-lock type SFCL can be divided into the subtractive polarity winding and the additive polarity winding operations according to the winding directions between the coil 1 and coil 2. It was confirmed from experiments that flux-lock type SFCL could improve both the quench characteristics and the transport capacity compared to the resistive type SFCL, which means, the independent operation of HTSC element.

  • In these days, there is a demand to develop fault current limiters(FCLs) to reduce excessive fault current and protect electrical equipments which are installed in the transmission and distribution power systems. We considered the resistive superconducting FCLs among the various kinds of FCLs. In this study, in order to develop the resistive superconducting FCL of 6.6kV 200A $3\phi$, we designed the new mask pattern for etching YBCO films by means of numerical analysis method, current limiting experiments and visualization of bubbles in films and investigated dielectric performance of the designed mask by using elecrtostatic numerical analysis method and breakdown experiments. We etched YBCO films by using the newly designed mask, connected the etched films in series and in parallel, and designed the 6.6kV resistive SFCL and then we observed the current limiting characteristics of the SFCL.

Current Limitation by Bi-2223 Bifilar Winding Coils

  • There are many kinds of high temperature superconducting (HTS) application using Bi-2223 tape which is the most commercialized HTS material. Also, resistive superconducting fault current limiters (SFCLs) have been developed using many kinds of superconducting material such as YBCO thin film, Bi-2212 bulk and so on. However, SFCL using Bi-2223 tape has never been developed. This paper deals with the feasibility study on SFCL using Bi-2223 wire. The over-current behaviors of Bi-2223 short-length sample were measured. To make the resistive SFCL, two small-scale bifilar winding modules using 7m Bi-2223 wire were fabricated; i.e. solenoid type bifilar coil and pancake type one. The short-circuit tests of the coils were successfully performed up to 16 V$_{rms}$ From these tests, the current limiting capabilities of Bi-2223 bifilar coils were confirmed and current limiting performances between two winding types were compared. In addition, the feasibility of resistive SFCL using another HTS wire, i.e. YBCO coated conductor, was also investigated.

The Study on Current Limiting Characteristic Analysis of Magnetic Shielding Type Fault Current Limiter

  • In this paper, we investigated the current limiting characteristic in the magnetic shielding type fault current limiter(MSFCL). The circuit analysis was executed by using finite differential method(FDM). This paper suggests that the current limiting performance can be achieved in two ways (resistive and inductive one), according to design parameter. By comparing current limiting characteristics in two ways and surveying the important parameters which determine the operational way after fault occurs in the design of MSFCL, it is shown that the magnetic shielding type fault current limiter can be operated in either resistive or inductive way.

  • The resistive fault current limiter (SFCL) is a very attractive device for power networks. But it has a serious Problem in using YBCO films for fault current limiter is inhomogeneities caused by imperpect manufacturing. So simultaneous quenches are a difficult problem which elements for current limiting are connected in series for increasing voltage ratings. We investigated extended electric field-current characteristics for current limiting element of YBCO film when O-130mT magnetic field is applied. And quench characteristics were investigated in over all element and between elements of YBCO films. From the experiments, it was shown that applied magnetic fields using solenoid coil induced uniform quench distribution for over all stripes and simultaneous quench in all elements for current limiting of YBCO film was realized. We have achieved resistive fault current limiter of 1.2kV/20A rating using magnetic field.

YBCO film을 이용한 저항형 한류기의 안정적인 동작 조건 (Stabilized operating condition of resistive superconducting fault current limiter using YBCO film)

  • We fabricated resistive super- conducting fault current limiters (SFCL) based on YBCO thin films grown on a 2" diameter $Al_{2}$O_{3} substrate. The minimum quench current of the current minimum quench current of the current limiting element was about 8 $A_{peak}. This SFCL successfully controlled the fault current below 14.3 $A_{peak} at the voltage of 100$V_{rms}, which is otherwise to increase up to 141$A_{peak}. and the quench completion time is less than 3 msec. The temperature of the current limiting element rose to about 200K in 3 cycles after fault. The SFCL showed reproducible characteristics during hundreds times of repeated experiments.ents.

접지된 유전체 위의 저항율이 일정한 저항띠 격자구조에 대한 전자파 산란 해석 - H-분극인 경우 - (Analysis of the Electromagnetic Scattering of Resistive Strip Grating with Uniform Resistivity on a Grounded Dielectric Layer - H-Polarization Case -)

  • 본 논문은 접지된 유전체 평면 위에 균일한 저항율을 갖는 저항띠 격자구조로 임의의 방향으로 입사되는 H-분극 전자파산란 문제를 모멘트 법으로 해석하였다. 기존의 논문에서는 전류밀도의 분포에 따라 기저함수를 다양한 직교다항식으로 변경하여 I-분극의 경우만 수치해석 하였다. 반면에, 본 연구에서는 각 저항띠의 양끝에서 유도 전류밀도가 0 이 되도록 cosine 함수와 sine 함수로 구성된 다항식의 급수로 나타내었다. 산란 전자계는 주기적인 구조에 대응시킬 수 있는 Floquet 모드함수의 급수로 전재하였으며, 미지의 계수를 구하기 위하여 경계조건을 적용하였다. 또한, Fourier-Galerkin 모멘트 법을 적용함으로서 접지된 유전체 위에 여러 가지 저항율을 갖는 저항띠에 대하여 기하광학적인 정규화 된 반사전력에 관한 스트립 폭 및 주기, 입사각의 영향을 수치해석 하였다.

  • 본 논문은 접지된 2중의 유전체 평면 사이에 변화하는 저항율을 갖는 저항 띠 격자 구조로 임의의 각도로 입사되는 E-분극 전자파 산란 문제를 모멘트 법으로 해석하였다. E-분극 산란에서는 저항 띠의 모서리 양끝에서 유도되는 전류 밀도가 매우 높을 것으로 예측되므로, 이 특성과 일치하는 기저 함수를 직교 다항식 일종인 2종 Chebyshev 다항식의 급수로 전개하여 수치 해석하였다. 산란 전자계는 주기적인 구조에 대응시킬 수 있는 Floquet 모드 함수의 급수로 전개하였고, 미지의 계수를 구하기 위하여 경계 조건을 적용하였다 또한, Fourier-Galerkin 모멘트 법을 적용함으로써 접지된 2중의 유전체 사이에 다양한 저항율을 갖는 저항 띠에 대해 기하광학적인 정규화 된 반사 전력에 관한 스트립 폭과 주기, 입사각의 영향 등을 수치 해석하였다.

가변형 저항 센서를 위한 새로운 방식의 인터페이스 회로 설계에 관한 연구 (The Study about the New Method of Interface Circuit Design for Variable Resistive Sensors)

  • A new interface circuit for variable resistive sensors is proposed. The interface circuit compose of only two strain gages, a voltage-to-current converter, and current mirror with two outputs. A new dual slope A/D converter based on linear operational transconductance amplifier for the testing of prototype interface circuit is also described. The theory of operation is presented and experimental results are used to verify the theoretical predictions. The results show close agreement between predicted behaviour and experimental performance.
