In case of the seabed around and under gravity structures such as submerged breakwater is exposed to a large wave action long period, the excess pore pressure will be generated significantly due to pore volume change associated with rearrangement soil grains. This effect will lead a seabed liquefaction around and under structures as a result from decrease in the effective stress. Under the seabed liquefaction occurred and developed, the possibility of structure failure will be increased eventually. Lee et al.(2016) studied for regular waves, and this study considered for irregular waves with the same numerical analysis method used for regular waves. Under the condition of the irregular wave field, the time and spatial series of the deformation of submerged breakwater, the pore water pressure (oscillatory and residual components) and pore water pressure ratio in the seabed were estimated and their results were compared with those of the regular wave field to evaluate the liquefaction potential on the seabed quantitatively. Although present results are based on a limited number of numerical simulations, one of the study's most important findings is that a more safe design can be obtainable when analyzing case with a regular wave condition corresponding to a significant wave of irregular wave.
In this study, a drying method that can effectively remove residual solvent from (+)-dihydromyricetin was developed. Residual acetone concentration was efficiently removed below ICH-specified value (5,000 ppm) by simple rotary evaporation with ethanol pretreatment. In addition, the residual ethanol met the ICH-specified value (5,000 ppm) by simple rotary evaporation through the addition of water, and the residual moisture also met the specified value (<4%) for active pharmaceutical ingredients. At all the drying temperature (35, 45, and 55 ℃), a large amount of the residual solvent was initially removed during the drying, and the drying efficiency increased when increasing the drying temperature. Removal of residual solvent by ethanol pretreatment was shown to be related to high vapor pressure of acetone-ethanol mixture and hydrogen bonding between acetone and ethanol.

In pressurized water reactors (PWRs), the reactor pressure vessel (RPV) upper head contains numerous control rod drive mechanism (CRDM) nozzles. In the last 10 years, the incidences of cracking in alloy 600 CRDM nozzles and their associated welds has increased significantly. Several axial and circumferential cracks have been found in CRDM nozzles in European PWRs and U.S. nuclear power plants. These cracks are caused by primary water stress corrosion cracking (PWSCC) and have been shown to be driven by welding residual stresses and operational stresses in the weld region. Therefore, detailed finite-element (FE) simulations for the Korea Nuclear Reactor Pressure Vessel have been conducted in order to predict the magnitudes of the weld residual stresses in the tube materials. In particular, the weld residual stress results are compared in terms for nozzle location, geometry factor$r_o$/t, geometry of fillet, and adjacent nozzle.
This study verified numerical analysis of the liquefaction phenomenon using LEAP-2017 international round-robin centrifuge test results. Dynamic centrifuge test is performed by applying a 1 Hz tapered sine wave to the model soil deposit, which was formed under a water table in a surface slope of 5° using Ottawa F-65 sand. A numerical model was made on a prototype scale and analyzed using the finite difference method in 2D and 3D conditions. The analyses were verified for acceleration and pore-water pressure histories with depth and residual displacement. Verification results revealed that all numerical liquefaction models agree reasonably with the test result for acceleration histories but not for pre-water pressure histories. Numerical analyses showed much smaller residual displacement than the centrifuge test. Thus, it is necessary to compare the results of numerical analysis with the centrifuge test performed by other institutes in the future.

In LSP (laser shock peening) treatment, the laser source geometries when the laser beam strikes the metal target area are diverse. The laser spot geometry affects the residual stress field beneath the treated surface of the metallic materials, which determines the characteristics of the pressure pulse. In this paper, detailed finite-element (FE) simulations on laser shock peening have been conducted in order to predict the magnitude and of the residual stresses and the depth affected in Inconel alloy 600 steel. The residual stress results are compared for circular, rectangular, and elliptical laser spot geometries. It is found that a circular spot can produce the maximum compressive residual stresses near the surface but generates tensile residual stresses at the center of the laser spot. In the depth direction, an elliptical laser spot produces the maximum compressive residual stresses. Circular and elliptical spots plastically affect the alloy to higher depths than a rectangular spot.

On this study, we investigated the removal characteristics of residual chlorine and DBPs in tap-water during boiling. Also we investigated the releasing characteristics of essential minerals in infusion tea. While recent studies focused on removal mechanisms of harmful heavy metals in infusion tea, this study tried to suggest the way to drink tap-water healthier and safer by examining releasing mechanisms of essential minerals in infusion tea. As a result, residual chlorine(initial conc. was 0.7 mg/L) was all removed in 20 minutes after heating and DBPs (the sum of THMs, HAAs and CH) were removed up to 65%. 6 kinds of essential minerals (Ca, K, Na, Mg, S, P) were released from 5 kinds of infusion tea (barley tea, corn tea, brown rice tea, cassia seed tea, solomon's seal tea) on the market. In cassia seed tea, the amount of essential minerals released from tea showed the highest values, 9.6 mg/g, and brown rice tea was the lowest, 1.6 mg/g. Particularly, the released amounts of potassium, playing a key role in human body in maintaining normal blood pressure, cell metabolism and enzyme action, showed relatively high. Through this study, we got to know that essential minerals can be obtained up to 40% of recommended nutritional intake for Korean by boiling tap-water with infusion tea.

This experimental study was aimed to estimate interfacial tension of brine-$CO_2$ by using a pendant bubble method and image analysis. Measurements were performed for wide ranges of temperatures, pressures, and salinities covering reservoir conditions in Pohang basin, a possible candidate for $CO_2$ storage operation in Korea. The profiles of $CO_2$ bubbles in brine obtained from image analysis with the densities of brine and $CO_2$ from previous studies were applied to Laplace-Young equation for calculating interfacial twnsion in brine-$CO_2$ system. The experimental results reveals that the interfacial tension is significantly affected by reservoir conditions such as pressure, temperature and water salinity. For conditions of constant temperature and water salinity, the interfacial tension decreases as pressure increases for low pressures (P < $P_c$), and approaches to a constant value for high pressures. For conditions of constant pressure and water salinity, the interfacial tension increases as temperature increases for T < $T_c$, with an asymptotic trend towards a constant value for high temperatures. For conditions of constant pressure and temperature, the interfacial tension increases with increasing water salinity. The trends in changes of interfacial tension can be explained by the effects of the reservoir conditions on the density difference of brine and $CO_2$, and the solubility of $CO_2$ in brine. The information on interfacial tensions obtained from this research can be applied in predicting the migration and distribution of injecting and residual fluids in brine-$CO_2$-rock systems in deep geological environments during geological $CO_2$ sequestrations.

Recently with the rapid development in the industries such as an iron mill and chemical plants, these are enlarged by the use of the piping. This piping was encountered the stress corrosion cracking(SCC) because of stress by water pressure and residual stress of welding etc. under industrial water. In this paper, the behaviour of stress corrosion cracking on the weld zone of steel pipe piping water(SPPW) were investigated according to pre-heat before welding in natural seawater(specific resistance : 25$\Omega$-cm). The main results obtained are as follows :1) The stress corrosion cracking for SPPW and SB 41 is most ready to propagate in heat affected zone of weldment. 2) The SCC sensitivity of SPPW on weldment is more susceptible than that of SB 41. 3) The stress corrosion cracking growth of heat affected zone is delayed by the preheat and dry of base metal and electrode before welding.
The living body consists of proteins, carbohydrates and fats. The above components are unstable to the change of circumstances ; thus ; when they are buried under the ground for a long time, they are disintegrated by physical effects such as pressure, water etc. However, it was recently reported that the part of the components of living body, especially fat thought in small guantity, remained in a relative stable state for many milleniuns. In addition, turned out that the structure of the composition of the fatty acid and sterol is different according to their species. For example, the plants - rice, barley, bean - and the animals - (togs, cow, pig, fish - have different structure of fat. Residual fat analysis is a research in the chemical composition of fat vemained in archaeological evidences on the basis of chemical structural differences as mentioned here in above. This paper introduces the residual fat analysis of archaeological evidences practical in Japan.

A fracture mechanics analysis methodology for stress corrosion cracks (SCCs) existing in the Alloy 600 nozzle weld joint for control rod drive mechanisms (CRDMs) of pressurized water reactor is studied. Effects of weld residual stresses on the sub-critical crack behavior during the reactor operation are investigated by a fracture mechanics analysis, which is combined with the finite element alternating method. It is found that effects f the residual stresses on the stress intensity factor (SIF) and crack growth rate (CGR) are dominant and values of SIF and CGR of cracks in the region of weld joint are increased by a factor of three or more on an average.
